We’ve got ourselves a massive slate for a Saturday. We typically have some early games and a handful of late games, but today we’ve got all but two teams playing from 4 o’clock on making for a 15 game main slate. I love these massive slates, more options give us more opportunity to create an edge. We’re going to create that edge today by kicking things off with Joe Musgrove ($8,300). Musgrove saves us a ton of money over the top options today, allowing us to load up on all the bats. Musgrove has a couple knocks going against him, but that’s baked into the cheap price. Musgrove is on the road and facing a Mets team that doesn’t strike out a ton. However, Musgrove has the ability to overcome these bumps. The 2.94 FIP and 12.2 K/9 are well worth the $8,300. We just have to hope Tingler doesn’t pull him in the fourth.

Trevor Bauer, SP: $11,000 – If you want to spend up, and I’d recommend it in cash games, Bauer is your guy. Bauer faces the Texas Rangers at home and that makes him a virtual lock for a win. I’ll predict 7 IP, 10 Ks and a Win. That’s about as safe as it gets in cash games.
Rich Hill, SP: $7,700 – One more cheap option, if you’re not feeling Musgrove is Rich Hill. Hill is at home against the O’s, which should mean a good shot at a win. Hill has high strikeout upside, you can’t really ask for much more for the price.
Yermin Mercedes, C/1B: $2,600 – There’s not much I love more than a cheap 1B option with homerun upside and we’ve got two of them today. The Yerminator is my favorite play here today, he faces Jose Urena, who is always looking to give up a bomb or two. Yermin is happy to comply.
Daniel Vogelbach, C/1B: $2,600 – Look, I don’t understand why Vogelbach keeps making it into the lineup, and batting second no less, but here he is. Vogelbach isn’t good for much but power, and with the platoon advantage, at home, against Chad Kuhl, I like his odds for a dong.
Marcus Semien, 2B: $3,300 – I had good luck with stacking the Astros at Fenway, and I think I’ll keep that going with the Blue Jays at Fenway this weekend.
Christian Arroyo, 2B: $2,100 – Arroyo is my preferred play here though. Arroyo should be leading off for the Sawx against Steven Matz and this game should be very high scoring.
Yoan Moncada, 3B: $3,100 – I’m kinda loving this cheap White Sox stack against Urena, these prices have dropped a ton since the start of the season, but the White Sox can still bop.
Kyle Seager, 3B: $2,900 – I really hate the way the Indians are treating McKenzie. Either call him up, or leave him down, but bringing him up once a week to start and then sending him down again is just weird, and it’s gotta be messing with the kid. I don’t see how he succeeds like this. Anyway, Seager is the wily vet that can take advantage of a kid who is lacking confidence.
Trevor Story, SS: $3,300 – I’ll probably kick off my White Sox stack here with Anderson, but I don’t want to just list every White Sox player in this write-up. Story gets to face a lefty in Wade Miley that is always one start away from implosion. Could the Rockies bust out a big number on the road? Maybe, but either way, I like Story to have a solid day at the plate.
Giancarlo Stanton, OF: $3,800 – In the OF today, let’s play a couple of heaters. Stanton has been on a tear and Vince Velasquez shouldn’t do much to stop that today. Lock and load the big man.
Tyler O’Neill, OF: $3,100 – Speaking of heaters, I don’t really understand Jesse Winker being the most expensive option at OF today and Tyler being buried down here. He’s been plenty hot and Kyle Hendricks has been even worse than German Marquez. Beats me, but I’ll take the discount here.
Seth Brown, OF: $2,400 – I feel a bit bad for Jackson Kowar getting shelled his first time out, but the A’s aren’t a whole lot easier than the Angels were. I could see a little A’s stack in the hopes that Kowar gets shellacked yet again. Brown has the platoon advantage and some pop.
Hunter Renfroe, OF: $2,200 – Renfroe will be locked into my lineups today. Matz is going to get pounded at Fenway and Renfroe should be right in the middle of that. Big power, little price.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
I think we might be clear of rain…If only the rain had come in Washington last night and kept Scherzer off the mound and out of my DFS lineups.
Doing Lines In Vegas
The Dodgers and Trevor Bauer are the big favorites at -300, I told you, that win is a lock. We have a 10 run over/under in Boston, expecting fireworks. The lowest run total is in the SD@NYM game, which bodes well for our Musgrove play, the Padres are also slight favorites on the road at -122.
