One week from today we’ll be looking at the final MLB DFS slate of the season. How crazy is that? I honestly never thought we’d get to this point, but here we be. We’re getting crazy here in the final week, and why not? It’s been a ridiculous season and this is a strange slate with some of the afternoon games, but not the late afternoon games and not all of the early games. It’s confusing and unfortunately we have no Pirates or Rangers to pick on today. Therefore, we’ll go with the next best thing, the Arizona Diamondbacks. The D-Backs rank third to last in team OPS and they are on the road today facing Jose Urquidy ($6,500) and his very affordable price tag. Urquidy is fresh off dominating the Rangers with seven strikeouts in seven innings. That outing was good for 49 FanDuel points, and at this price, that is a huge value. I would expect more of the same today as Urquidy cruise to the victory. Fire him up and stack that offense.

Carlos Carrasco, SP: $9,900 – Carrasco is the likely default for cash games as he too should cruise to victory against Matthew Boyd. Boyd has been darn awful and the Tigers strikeout a ton, second only to the Rays in that category but with a much lower team OPS (.709 vs. .765). Hopefully Cookie’s calf doesn’t act up again and cut his start short.
Deivi Garcia, SP: $8,900 – Garcia seems like a high risk, high reward play for GPPs as I feel like most people will either pay up for Carrasco or jump way down, leaving Garcia with low ownership. The Red Sox pitching has been horrendous, clearly, but Deivi could still get knocked around. If he does find a way to silence the Sawx bats, it could pay off big time.
Ryan Yarbrough, SP: $7,900 – YarBRO! I kind of hope TB sends him out after an opener again today, as it sure seems to make him more comfortable. He looked great the last time out against the Nats and I like him to keep it up against the Os.
Kyle Higashioka, C/1B: $2,400 – Sanchez might get a rest for the season finale and Higashioka is hot as heck at the moment. Stacking against Sawx pitching is always a winning strategy and I like Higa here.
Carlos Santana, C/1B: $3,000 – Boyd is cooked, I’m fitting in Indians wherever possible today.
Ryan McMahon, 2B: $3,200 – This is the final game in Coors this season! I’m really hoping we can go out with a bang and I’m stacking Rockie lefties accordingly.
Mike Brosseau, 2B: $2,600 – Brosseau is a lefty masher and John Means is just the mediocre lefty that he mashes. He’s already got three homers off him in just nine plate appearances!
Justin Turner, 3B: $3,600 – We’re paying up for 3B today it seems. There are so many good options at the hot corner. Jose Martinez adds to the Indians stack, Arenado is only $200 more than Turner, it’s all good, but I like Turner as a DH.
Alex Bregman, 3B: $3,500 – I also enjoy Bregman today versus the remains of Madison Bumgarner’s career.
Francisco Lindor, SS: $3,700 – Santana, Ramirez and Lindor would be a nice CLE stack and a Coors pivot if that’s your jam.
Adalberto Mondesi, SS: $2,700 – Seriously one of the hottest players going right now and FanDuel refuses to raise his price.
Aaron Hicks, OF: $3,100 – How is it that Stanton has been back for three games and is $4,100 but Adalberto is still $2,700? I feel like I haven’t included enough Yankees against whatever a Tanner Houck is. Hicks is cheap enough to fit the bill without breaking the bank.
David Dahl, OF: $3,000 – Can we form a prayer hexagon that Dahl has one good game this season? Can we get a multi-homer effort? Is that too much to ask?
Randy Arozarena, OF: $2,700 – Randy has cooled considerably since he was the hottest waiver wire add of last week. A trip to Baltimore and John Means could be just the thing to get him going again though.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
If nothing else, I feel like we’ve gotten very lucky with weather this season, which is nice. It’s all clear once again.
Doing Lines In Vegas
Houston and Cleveland are your top favorites today at -205 and -200. I’m loving Urquidy even more after seeing those numbers. CLE@DET does feature the lowest over/under of the day though at 8 runs, compared to ARI@HOUR which is a 9.5. No surprise, the over/under in Colorado is 12.5. Please go out with a bang, please go out with a bang!
