Listen, I’m a Seattle Mariners fan, but I’m also a realist. The offense is not particularly threatening and Nestor Cortes has had his fair share of good starts. Nestor is coming off a 28.2 point performance where he gave up 0 ER on 5 hits while striking out 6. He does show a pattern of having a lackluster start after a dominant one. After winning the first two games of the series, the Mariners are due for a dud, and Nestor will stay hot with a solid performance tonight. Here’s a few players to keep your eye on for the Wednesday evening slate on DraftKings. The games start at 6:40pm EST.

Chris Bassitt, SP: $7,200– Taking Chris Bassitt here is a shot in the dark. He certainly hasn’t been particularly great this season with his 5.03 ERA, but has produced 3 20+ point performances. The White Sox are not very good, some might even say they stink. At $7,200, Bassitt is worth the slight risk that he can put up another 20+ point game against a poor team.

Nathaniel Lowe, 1B: $4,500 – This was the only way I could squeak a legitimate Rangers bat into this lineup. We’ll have to find some diamonds in the rough at other positions, but Taijuan Walker is still finding his stride, and the Rangers may be due for one of their large offensive outbursts. Lowe has lacked power early on this season but still averages 7.5 ppg. 1B was a tough position in this slate.

Bryson Stott, 2B: $4,800 –Steep price to pay for Bryson Stott but the man is averaging 9.3 FPPG and is scoring in multiple ways. He doesn’t hit many of them but can connect for a home run, drives in runs, and has 13 stolen bases. Stott and the Phillies are up against Dane Dunning tonight, and that gives me plenty of confidence in this pick.

Matt Chapman, 3B: $4,200 – Chapman has been solid for the Giants this season, and he’s bet quite hot as of late. The goal here is to ride that hot streak and hope this isn’t the game he fizzles out. Jared Jones is on the mound for the Pirates, and I think Chapman would cost more if not for Jones on the mound. Jones has to slip up eventually, right….right??? In Chapman’s last 4 games he’s had 28, 31, 9, and 19 points. Let’s get another double-digit performance tonight in Pittsburgh.

Jose Caballero, SS: $4,100 – This lineup is full of risks, so tread lightly. Caballero averages 7.7 per game and practically none of it is due to his power. There’s always the chance we get lucky with the long ball, but for Cabby, we’re hoping for him to get on base and steal some bags. He’s got 17 already this year and last time the Rays played Boston, he had a game with 2 hits and 2 steals for 20 total points. Repeat is possible.

Brent Rooker, OF: $4,500 – If you pick Rooker, you might have to watch the Rockies and A’s, which isn’t ideal. However, we’re here to try to make some money, so we do what we can. Brent Rooker is hitting .288 with 11 Homeruns and a .944 OPS. He’s been solid for the A’s this season and was a 30-homer guy last year. Tonight, he gets 12 in this young season.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

Possible delay or rainout in Cincinnati today against the Padres. We left those guys out of the lineup for that reason. There does not seem to be any risk for the other games.

Doing Lines In Vegas

Plenty of runs projected in the Phillies/Rangers game with a total of 10. Both of these offenses can go nuclear at any moment, so that should be a fun one. The Yankees are -162 against Seattle, so the books don’t think Seattle can take 3 straight from the Yanks. For a less expensive 1B option, Lamonte Wade Jr. of the Giants might be worth a shot at $3,600.
