Some prospectors talk about the #Prospectlife and others live it. Michael Halpern and I live that prospect life all day errday. It’s why we’re bringing you our next installment of system previews with the well stocked Colorado Rockies. We talk about our love of Coors inflated bats, and our distaste for Rocks pitchers. Maybe you disagree, maybe you’re a non-conformist type that bucks the trend. That’s okay, we embrace all types here on the Prospect Podcast. While we’re at it join any and all of my leagues. We also discuss some hot stove, and how I was molested by a senior citizen at a family party. Yes this episode has it all! Colorado Rockies Prospects mostly though. Raise your pinkie rings to the air, it’s the latest edition of the Razzball Prospect Podcast.

Hey Ralph,
Still waiting to see where you rank Cody Reed in your Reds post. Just landed him as part of a larger trade.
Thanks!
@The JoGarza: He’s 100% a spec on the beach. I still believe in Reed big time. Sorry for not updating that yet. It’s coming I promise. I’ve always ranked Reed highly.
@Ralph Lifshitz: much appreciated.
Quick one for you.
In a 16-tm dynasty with OBP, which of these four are you grabbing? Jacoby Jones, Christin Stewart, Brandon Woodruff or Leody Taveras?
I have a pretty competitive squad in a win-now mode (so Woodruff and Jones are appealing), but don’t want that to blind me from good upside either.
@The JoGarza: Stewart he’s the best of the bunch.
Yo Ralph Halp have you seen Joanie?…….I kid I kid
Seriously though, the Rockies. I’m going to play the DA for a sec. It seems like a lot of commenters over the years have over valued Rockies hitting prospects just because of park. This short sightedness leads to a lack of evaluation that one would give any other spec from another organization. Kinda like California league and PCL stats are given too much nub
@Big Odio: There is definitely some of that going on, but their prospects do deserve a legit bump, so it can be hard to balance their objective prospect value, and what they can do in Coors.
Most of the time I see that it is the opposite of that though, and Rockies prospects are valued closer to their rankings on real life lists. Trevor Story was not all that highly valued in fantasy (until his Spring Training breakout), and I see Rockies pitchers valued normally in trades all the time.
@Halp: I think we also sling enough shite at those we don’t like McMahon, Wall, and Nunez
@Ralph Lifshitz: I wasn’t personally commenting on you twos evals. When I said “lots of commenters over the years” I was speaking on the laymans perception of Rockies prospects.
@Big Odio: Agreed I speak for what we said tho. Ya dig?
@Ralph Lifshitz: dig
finally starting to catch up on baseball posts, particularly for my 30 teamer with now about to go up to 35 minor slots. i’ve written down a crap ton of names you’ve mentioned over the season that are unowned, and even some of your minor all star guys aren’t owned (e.rios, woodruff, szapucki, brock stewart, c.adams), also 2 of smokey’s big names (sherfy i’ve had for a bit, hoyt unowned)
but in fantrax the only mccurry i can find is a CI/MI named randal mccurry, not RP guy (i’m looking at smokey’s extra RP list for ARI names). did this guy just transition to RP recently or did brendan mccurry get traded to ARI fairly recently from OAK (he’s owned but that could be the guy). there’s also a cole mccurry with no listed team that is a pitcher, could be him too. i’ll hit up smokey in soccer as well.
@goodfold2: Yeah I’m not sure about that.
Since im bored and you’re in the rejects league with me i thought I would share the chump dump I got offered today.
Forest whitley
Dylan cozens
Mark appel
For piscotty
@Big Odio: If you were dumb and liked Cozens you might. That’s awful tho…
@Ralph Lifshitz: I know a guy who likens cozens but I just can’t think of his name.
Thanks Ralph. Good stuff. Have Rockies in JBs league so this helps
