Hey Hey Hey, Welcome and Thank You for starting your week out and dropping by to get some valuable fantasy DFS info to fill up your coffers. I’m sure you have been hitting on a few of those hidden gems (shout out to Brandon Nimmo and Austin Hays this weekend). I can say since starting this article writing once a week it sure has made me a better fantasy DFS player for sure. The more you watch games take a few notes do a little dive into some numbers and genuinely do your homework on players it will benefit you immensely. April has brought a lot of cold weather which resulted in plenty of low-scoring games (6 shutouts on Sunday). Be careful if you are stacking players you are choosing beneficial games to you and taking into account the weather. I for one have not made full stacking a must-have in my lineups but instead have used 3/2/2 stacks to give me an opportunity to hit on a nice low owned 1 off which has made the difference in a few of my slates.

As the title suggests I’m not going to tell you anything new about this guy but what a start for Corbin Burnes. I mean my god, those drafters in season-long that were trying to pick between Corbin Burnes ($11,000) and Randy Arozarena earlier in draft season are either patting themselves on the back or kicking themselves in the rear for their fantasy prowess. I only have 1 share of Burnes (Thank God I got at least one) and the 6th rd that I got him in is a complete steal so far and he is being talked about in the same breath as Degrom and Cole and you got to think if this continues there will be a big 4 (Degrom, Cole, Bieber, and now Burnes will join the elite tier). The main slate is a decent size one (10 games) but looking it over not a lot of aces so I think you pay up here and take Burnes ridiculous spin rate, xERA, whiff % and if you don’t care about all that mumbo jumbo he has 40 K’s in 24 Innings, hasn’t walked one batter and only given up 1 ER in 24 Innings. Enough said. Burnes pitches against the Marlins today who although improved are no match for Mr. Burnes here and you can expect him to be the chalk pitcher today but go ahead and play him and get different with your lineup with a couple of your batters.
SP- Trevor Rogers ($9,600) If you do want to pivot away from the highest owned pitcher in Burnes no need to look much farther down the line than the same game Burnes is in and pick his opponent Trevor Rogers. Rogers is a hard-throwing lefty from Carlsbad, New Mexico of all places and features a 3 pitch mix (Fastball, slider, changeup) and commands them all well. Rogers can get in the upper 90’s with his fastball while pounding the zone and throwing down and away with his off-speed pitches to keep the batters off balance. Rogers although not quite as dominant as Burnes has been very efficient with his pitches as evidenced by his 94 whiff %.
C/1B– Freddie Freeman ($3,900 ) Freeman has been relatively quiet so far this year but still makes great contact and hard-hit rate is still where it needs to be in order for you to feel confident in putting him in your lineup. Freeman and the Braves play the Cubbies today and Zach Davies will be on mound for Chicago. Freeman is 2-5 against Davies so far in his career and I think you see Freeman here get a couple of much-needed knocks and maybe one sneaks over the fence to give you that precious HR.
2B- DJ LeMahieu ($2,900) Targeting ole Matt Harvey here who is basically a warm body for the Orioles at this point. D.J. hasn’t quite got off to a sizzling start this year but everything looks good here for a stellar day for DJ.
3B– Matt Chapman ($2,900) Chapman against a lefty is always an exciting proposition. Chapman has not quite found his stride so far but he’s well overdue for some hard hits as he has 2 HR’s against lefties in limited at-bats. Chapman will be facing Rich Hill who has not been good so far this year and the A’s have to be licking their chops at the prospect of hitting a few out of the park today.
SS- Gleyber Torres ($2,500) All right Gleyber, make me proud, I’ll take Gleyber any day against Harvey. Curious to see Gleyber with no HR yet which brings up a perfect opportunity to silence the naysayers and hit one out today.
OF- Jared Walsh ($3,600) I’m liking what I’m seeing from Walsh lately as he’s got hits in his last 8 out of 9 games. He’s due for a long ball and goes against Jordan Lyles who’s just a below-average arm and has given up some really hard hits lately. I think Walsh gets the better of him tonight.
OF-Stephen Piscotty ($2,600) As always, he hits lefties well and has been hitting the ball well lately, adds up to a big day at the plate for Piscotty,
OF- Bryce Harper ($4,300) Couldn’t let this slate go by without me adding Harper to the list. This guy has been mashing and goes against Wainwright who has been alternating good outings with bad outings. He’s due for a bad one so Harper’s got to be involved with this somehow right?
UTIL- Jed Lowrie ($3,100 ) I just keep falling on A’s guys today. I love the matchup against Rich Hill and the Athletics are playing so well I don’t see it ending anytime soon. Lowrie has seen a resurgence this year and I think the A’s train keeps rolling along.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
All systems go here. No rainouts or significant weather so far. Check the wind reports for St. Louis and San Francisco to see if they might be a factor before the game starts.
Doing Lines In Vegas
I’m liking the Twins ML-120 and Royals ML -105
