The starting pitching options on tonight’s main slate on FanDuel are absolutely awful. Luckily for us, there is one guy we can trust in Zack Greinke ($10,800). Despite a poor Astros debut, Greinke still has just a 3.08 ERA this year, along with a 3.29 FIP and a 3.18 Deserved Run Average that support his success. He faces one of the weakest lineups in the league in the White Sox, whose .292 wOBA versus righties is the third-lowest mark in baseball. Their 26.6% K-rate also leads the league, so Zack should be able to rack up some K’s.

Jose Suarez, P: $5,700 – If you’re feeling risky and want to go cheap at starting pitcher, Suarez may be your only worthwhile option. He’s been downright awful this year, but the Pirates have actually been the weakest lineup against lefties with a dismal .285 wOBA. Suarez is not a safe play by any means, but you will have a ton of payroll to spend on hitters if you roll with him.
Joey Votto, 1B: $3,400 – Votto has been solid over the last two weeks with an .836 OPS. He’s in a spot where he can collect counting stats batting second for the Reds against Erick Fedde, who has an awful 5.23 FIP.
Rougned Odor, 2B: $3,200 – Odor is a target in GPP contests for his boom-or-bust profile. He is one of the top power contributors at second base with seven home runs in the last month, and he’s in a hitter-friendly park in Toronto.
Rafael Devers, 3B: $4,100 – Indians starter Zach Plesac looks to have lots of regression on the way, as he’s been outperforming his 4.95 FIP and getting by with a weak 18.5% K-rate. Devers is a hitter that can expose him, as he’s crushed righties with a 154 wRC+ this year. Consider an entire Red Sox stack if you can afford it.
Trea Turner, SS: $3,500 – It’s surprising to see Turner so affordable, as he’s batting .296 with four steals in the last 15 days. He’s a great play in cash games, as he’s got a high floor as a leadoff hitter.
Jarrod Dyson, OF: $3,200 – Speaking of leadoff hitters, Dyson is an extremely attractive play atop the lineup in Coors Field. You want every plate appearance you can get in the league’s top offensive environment, and Dyson can provide this a low cost. He can also score for you on the basepaths, with 25 steals this year.
Ian Desmond, OF: $3,300 – Desmond has a .926 OPS at home and faces a weak starter in Merrill Kelly, owner of a 4.52 ERA. Desmond may be a chalky play at this price, but it’s worth it to get one of the cheapest Rockies bats.
Shohei Ohtani, OF: $3,700 – Ohtani is in a position to collect RBI batting third for the Angels against rookie Mitch Keller, who has a 10.50 ERA. Ohtani is a very high upside play thanks to his power/speed combo, with 15 homers and nine steals, as he can score points in lots of different ways.
