There are a lot of potential starting pitcher options for tonight’s main slate on FanDuel. But after a pretty dominant performance in his last start, Jacob deGrom has to be one of the few guys at the top of the list. Despite some struggles early, the New York starter still has a 34.8% K rate on the season. Look for another dominant showing from him in this one. The Padres’ have a 26.9% K rate versus right-handed pitching, while having just an 83 wRC+ against righties. Las Vegas agrees with this assessment as the Mets opened up as road favorite.

Gerrit Cole, SP: $11,500 – Cole’s matchup with the Royals is not the easiest. Kansas City does have a team ISO of .202 against right-handed pitching this season. But Cole also has the best numbers of any starter on tonight’s FanDuel slate. He has the lowest SIERA and xFIP, while having the highest strikeout rate of all the pitcher’s expected to start on Monday. Plus Vegas loves him and the Astros as they have the highest money line at open.
Anthony Rizzo, C/1B: $4,300 – Facing the Marlins’ Sandy Alcantara is about as good of a much up as the Riz could ask for. Rizzo is crushing right-handed pitching this season. The first baseman has a 1.004 OPS and a 162 wRC+ against them, while Alcantara has struggled with left-handed batters. He has a 5.66 xFIP versus lefties in 2019.
Paul Goldschmidt, C/1B: $3,600 – The Phillies’ Vince Velasquez is the exact type of pitcher you want to pick on. He is a flyball pitcher with a 44% flyball rate. He is getting hit hard, as the Philadelphia starter is allowing a 41.4% hard contact rate. And he relies heavily on one pitch, as he throws his fastball 65.5% of the time. All of this adds up to a great spot for Goldschmidt. Goldy has a .275 ISO versus right-handed pitching, and a .404 ISO against fastballs in 2019. He also has hit six of his nine home runs this year on fastballs.
Brandon Lowe, 2B: $3,700 – The Diamondbacks’ Merrill Kelly is having a difficult time with lefties this season. He’s allowing a .346 wOBA versus them. That plays right into the hands of Lowe. The Rays’ second baseman has a .301 ISO and a 186 wRC+ versus right-handed pitching.
Jose Altuve, 2B: $3,400 – Altuve has scored at least 18 FanDuel points in two straight, and will look to stay hot tonight against the Royals’ Jakob Junis. The Kansas City starter’s 5.12 ERA and 4.35 SIERA suggests Altuve should do just that on Monday.
Alex Bregman, 3B: $4,300 – No one is hotter than Alex Bregman right now. The Houston third baseman has five home runs in his last five games, and has scored 123.2 FanDuel points in that span. Stick with Bregman again on Monday.
Josh Donaldson, 3B: $3,600 – Something’s not right with the Dodgers’ Walker Buehler this season. He has a 4.53 SIERA, and is allowing hard contact more than 40% of the time. So feel free to sneak Josh Donaldson into a lineup or two on Monday. He has a .280 ISO and a .412 wOBA versus right-handed pitching in 2019.
Paul DeJong, SS: $3,700 – The Cardinals’ shortstop finds himself in a plus matchup with Vince Velasquez. The Phillies’ starter is allowing a 50% hard contact rate to right-handed batters, while DeJong has shown some power against righties with a .218 ISO.
Carlos Correa, SS: $4,100 – As we look to attack the Royals’ Jakob Junis, Carlos Correa is certainly in play. The shortstop owns a .250 ISO and a .352 wOBA versus right-handed pitching this season.
J.D. Martinez, OF: $4,300 – Death, taxes, and J.D. Martinez versus a lefty. The Boston slugger continues to crush left-handed pitching this season. He has a .583 ISO and a 303 wRC+ against southpaws in 2019. It certainly won’t hurt that Baltimore’s John Means is allowing a 41% flyball rate.
Bryce Harper, OF: $4,500 – I know the natives of Philadelphia are getting restless, but feel free to go to Harper here. The Cardinals’ Miles Mikolas has struggled with lefties. He is allowing a .378 wOBA and 2.65 HR/9 to left-handed batters in 2019, while Harper has a .222 ISO against righties this season.
Michael Brantley, OF: $4,100 – Brantley comes into play on Monday, having homered in two straight games. With the Royals’ Junis allowing 2.04 HR/9 to lefties, Brantley very well could make it three straight contests with a dinger.

Doing Lines In Vegas
As you can tell, there is a lot of love for Houston today. While the -285 ML is too rich for my blood, I am eyeing the over 4.5 runs for Houston. And I’m sure I’ll be interested in some Brantley player props as well.
