It’s a good night on Draft.com. Outside of a Coors game, there’s not that much chalk, especially with starting pitching. It’s a perfect night to dust off guys like Scooter Gennett, who don’t get much respect. A touch of contrarian play could go a long way here.

Masahiro Tanaka, SP: Early. Pitching on the road in the pitcher-friendly confines of Marlins Park should help the fly-ball-challenged Tanaka. He’s been better away from Yankee Stadium, to the tune of a 3.86 ERA and 1.02 WHIP (4.27/1.27 at home). Without a clear-cut ace at the top, I lean Tanaka.
Hyun-Jin Ryu, SP: Middle. This is the story of Ryu: come off of the DL, tease his talent, get hurt shortly thereafter. Let’s just enjoy the ride, however brief. He gave you 6 innings with 6 strikeouts last time out, and I expect something in that neighborhood tonight.
Kevin Gausman, SP: Late. You never can be sure which Gausman you’re going to get. It’s a crap pitching slate, though, and Gausman is one of the few who can deliver 8 to 10 Ks. The downside is that he could turn into Kevin Gascan and destroy your night.
Nolan Arenado, IF: Early. An ISO of .538 against LHP at home in Coors Field. I won’t bother saying more.
Khris Davis, IF: Middle. Out of his 36 HRs, 28 have come against righties. Opposing pitcher Ariel Jurado is giving up 2 HR/9. The A’s are the hottest team in baseball. When a club has the scent of the postseason the way they do, watch out.
Scooter Gennett, IF: Late. Gennett is the Rodney Dangerfield of baseball: he gets no respect, I tell ya. Who doesn’t love a good revenge game? He actually hasn’t done much damage to his former club, but that just means he’s due. I hope. A career SLG of .416 in Miller Park has to shine through as the visitor at some point.
Christian Yelich, OF: Early. Yelich has turned his season around from early disappointment into reliable producer with a second-half wOBA of .449. That home park boost is finally starting to hit.
Manuel Margot, OF: Middle. If you’re going to go after a Padre, since they’re in Coors, I’d rather pay for a middle pick. Margot performed fairly well there earlier this season: for the series, he had a .353 OBP, two doubles, and a stolen base. That’s not going to win your night single-handedly, but it can set the table.
Giancarlo Stanton, OF: Late. This is the same gamble as last week when the Red Sox were on the road: a DH who has a good chance to get into the lineup as an OF. Revenge factor, part 2, as well here.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
Check the Colorado game before lock for sure. Washington and Pittsburgh also have some T-boomers in the area, and there’s a possibility of rain in Chicago.
Doing Lines in Vegas
The Teamonator likes the over on 9 runs in for Phillies-Nationals. If it plays, I agree.
