Psst! This post is gonna list 2nd basemen that you should target in your 2026 fantasy baseball drafts. I’m whispering because you don’t want everyone to see this post. No, I can’t whisper louder, then it WOULDN’T BE WHISPERING! Okay, gig’s up (or maybe that’s jig’s up), the love I’m about to reiterately (Made Up Word of the Day!) confirm is on these guys I love later in drafts. I’m not going to mention Luke Keaschall other than this one mention of him where I say I’m not going to mention him. At least that’s my apophasis and I’m sticking to it! These are players that you’re looking at later and all of them have ADPs after 150 (unlike Keaschall; okay, two non-mentions). Some could be the 2nd baseman on your team, they are more than likely MIs. Luke Keasachall sleeper too, if you want (three mentions). This is a (legal-in-all-countries-except-Canada) supplement to the top 20 2nd basemen for 2026 fantasy baseball. Click on the player’s name where applicable to read more and see their 2026 projections. Anyway, here’s some 2nd basemen to target for 2026 fantasy baseball:

PSYCHE! Before the post, just wanted to say my top 500 and all my 2026 fantasy baseball rankings are updated as soon as possible (the latest, Jeremy Pena in the shortstops rankings). Also, Rudy’s War Room is updated multiple times per day, and in-season subscriptions are open for business. Buy a subscription and save a cowboy. Anyway, the 2nd basemen to target:

Jackson Holliday (NFBC 152). Again, it’s a little bit of a concern that Holliday is higher at ESPN than NFBC’s ADP, but that’s true of a few guys on this list of 2nd basemen sleepers. Most are negligible. Holliday is at 114 though at ESPN, and I don’t know about that. A few of the guys here that are lower at NFBC (Edwards, Garcia) surprised me a little. Any hoo! When I updated Holliday, due to the hamate bone surgery, I gave you my Jackson Holliday fantasy. I’d still draft him, but you need to find a replacement for a couple of weeks, and his power might be down.

Xavier Edwards (ESPN 161, NFBC 173) According to this, I’m going to have a lot of shares of Edwards this year. He’s a 5/45/.270 hitter. Not for every league, but there’s a place for that earlier than 150 overall in every league, if the right person in your league drafts them. The person who took Schwarber and Alonso? Poke them and tell them to draft Edwards.

Luis Garcia Jr. (ESPN 191, NFBC 231) One of the most pure 20/20 hitters, who won’t go 20/20, unless he gets 700 plate appearances. Will he get that many PAs? Hold on, someone is calling me. [picks up phone, person yells, “Stop being stupid!”] Hmm, so Garcia likely won’t get 700 plate appearances. You need to platoon him when he’s out of the lineup vs. lefties.

Ozzie Albies (ESPN 192, NFBC 159) Near 200 overall for Albies seems like the biggest no-brainer in fantasy. Take me out of the equation and he looks like a 22/14/.250 hitter, according to other projections. Get a little lucky on power, or get a Josh Naylor-sized bug up his butt to run, and maybe 27/17. At 200 overall? I don’t want to sound naive. I know he’s been bad, but he’s still under 30. And under 5′ 6″. So he fits in your pocket!

Brendan Donovan (ESPN 202, NFBC 265) One of my least favorite types of hitters. (So, of course I’m highlighting him!) I don’t love the late flyer on counting stats with crazy low ceiling on speed and power. Donovan is one of those guys you draft at 250 overall and he will almost assuredly be more valuable, because batting average is undervalued and runs and RBIs will be better than guys going around him in drafts. Runs and RBIs for BreDon (not to be confused with our podcast host, BDon) combined: 120-ish (65, 55). I like Caballero a lot, and he will go before him in most leagues and I have Caballero ranked before him, too. But runs and RBIs for Caballero? Maybe 80 (50, 30).

Jose Caballero (ESPN 206, NFBC 206) Speaking of the devil! I was. In the previous blurb about BreDon. You’re skipping around, aren’t you? I don’t want Volpe to return. I want Caballero to get one of those dream seasons where he gets 550 ABs. If that happens? Well, let’s say projections say he is a 40-steal guy in 330 ABs. Wanna see an em-effer go boing? Prorate his stats to 550 ABs. Jose Caballero about to be Jose Henderson! Rickey Caballero? Well, you know what I’m saying.

Otto Lopez (ESPN 245, NFBC 216) I hate to inject logic and reasoning in any of this, but Otto Lopez was 160th on the Player Rater last year. Do we really think Lopez is going to be markedly worse? Why? Don’t make me ask a third question to flatten your brain further. Yo shizz has been smoothed by my logic talk!

Matt McLain (ESPN 246, NFBC 201) First off, yes, I pay BDon to do the podcast with Matt McLain mentions. Don’t any of you dare ask him if his bank takes Matt McLain mentions or if he can pay his rent with Matt McLain mentions. I swear to God, do not wake him to the Matt McLain Matrix I’ve constructed around him. So, McLain went 15/18/.220 last year, but that average might’ve been a tad unlucky, still only 26 and in a great park. McLain could still make good on his promise. BDon would become so insufferable for a full season.

Travis Bazzana (ESPN NR, NFBC 605) No, I don’t think Travis Bazzana will do anything this year, but I have a Travis Bazzana fantasy, and just on the remote chance he does do something. Well, you want Bazzana going bazinga on your team and not someone else’s.

Need help!! 5×5 roto w/ 3 keepers. I’m keeping Skenes, Turner, and PCA. Unfortunately in the lottery I got the 1st pick with the lowest odds. Best players available are Marte, Machado, C Sanchez, Alvarez, Neto, H Brown, Woo, and Olson to name a few. Who would you recommend for the 1st pick. Thanks!!

Hey Grey,

Always love your work.

15tm 5×5 two catcher keeper league, we keep up too 15. 25 Starting spots, including 10 pitching spots, lots of RP are going to be kept and Gausman seems a tad high, but the top 18 guys are probably being kept at values, so the inflation for Gausman would be in the mid 20’s most likely. This is a Saves + Holds/2 category, not just saves alone.

Would you trade my Hunter Goodman $3/Boyd $1 for Cade Smith$3/Eovaldi $10

My pitching staff for keepers is as follows
Gausman $18
Robbie Ray $1
Boyd $1 (he wants in the trade)
McClanahan $6
Woodruff $1
Musgrove $1
Yesavage $10 (but he’s a minor league keeper)
Palencia $10
Robert Suarez $1

I love Durbin…liked his as a prospect, liked him after a slow start…seems a bit like Nico Horner..

Hate that he’s the starting 3B and not 2B this season for keeper purposes.

Final answer 10 team AL 5×5 with net runs (runs minus HR). Adell $9 and Mayer $1 or Ward $12 and Zebby $1…can have either combo as keepers

I just don’t get all the love I see for Brendan Donovan, and not just in this post. I like him for real baseball, but he’s 29 and has never hit more than 14 HRs or had more than 5 SBs in a season. So if everything goes *well*, he’ll be, what, .278/12/4? Super meh. There’s just no upside there, and fantasy championships are won on upside realized.

What’s good, Grey? First time back since September and getting caught up for my 12-team H2H keeper league draft this weekend. I’ve been reading everything so feel prepared for the draft, just don’t know who to select #1 overall (totally lucked into getting it via trade the year before, but that’s a different story).

Everyone keeps six players and the categories are R/HR/RBI/SB/OBP%/SLG% on the hitting side, and on the pitching side is IP/QS/SV/ERA/WHIP/K-9.

My keeper group is pretty solid with Cake Batter, Caminero, Yordan, Chourio, Kirby and M.Miller. The top options to draft #1 overall after teams selected their keepers are Jackson Merrill, Christopher Sanchez and Konnor Griffin. I know other teams really want the opportunity to draft Griffin, so there is trade possibilities there, but I wanted to ask who you would take if you were in the same scenario?

Thank you in advance and “hi” to Ted.

Grey! Thank you so much for all that you do!

6×5 including ops, 10 team, h2h, keep 7 keeper league where keeper value is tied to the round a player was drafted. Keep forever. I have 8 players for 7 spots. Who is the odd man out that I’m cutting? Thanks!

Round 1 Skubal
Round 3 Ketel Marte
Round 6 Matt Olson
Round 7 JRam
Round 14 Tatis
Round 20 CJ Abrams
Round 22 Kyle Tucker
Round 24 Acuña

Thanks! Damn. I was torn between Olson and Ketel. It’s a tough decision and I’ll be upset tossing either back but one of them has to go. I’m thinking Olson is the one more likely to make it back to me so I can redraft but it’s a tough choice.

Keeper list due soon in a 12 team roto auction with $300 cap. I have Sale $13 and Hunter Brown at $17. I also have Rasmussen, Edward Cabrera, and Bibee all at $10. Stick with Sale and Brown even with the extra cost?

How would you rank Griffin,Wetherholt and McGonigle? Thanks!

Keeper/points league. Would you rather have Kurtz at $7 (and have rights to him for 3 years) or E. Suarez at $5 + Ben Rice at $7 + H Goodman at $7 + C. Montgomery at $7 (all for 3 years)

Need 3 keepers based on last yrs draft, FA pickups are 10th round keepers. Leaning towards the top 3 based on draft spot. Kind of want a hitter but Stowers isn’t really a great value in the 10th. Also really like Cade Smith, but at 11 rounds before Suarez?

7×7 with OPS and K’s against for hitters and loses and QS for pitchers as the extra catigories.

What do you think?

Ohtani SP – 18th
Lodolo – 19th
Ranger Suarez 21st
Stowers – 10th
Cade Smith – 10th

Hi Grey! 12 team H2H 6×6, 5 keeper league. Going into the year with Skubal, Woo, Caminero, and Elly. Stuck between Buxton, Goodman, Sheehan for the 5th spot. Not really excited about any of them, but was leaning Goodman and wanted to know what you think. Thanks for all the content!

Hey Grey – Keeper questions:

I don’t have the best options for Keepers this year and can use an assist.
11 team league and I have pick #11.
We can keep 5 total, for up to 2 years. Waiver P/U’s are slotted into rounds 28-31.
There are 38 rounds total in the draft.
Teams are 2C, 2-1B/DH, 2- 2B, 2-3B, 2-SS, 5-OF, 2-U / 6 SP, 5-RP, 2- P
Mixed league 6+6 = HR, AVG, R, RBI, SB, OPS / W, QS, Ks, ERA, WHIP, Sx2+H1

These are my options and what round they would slot into:
D Baldwin – Rd 33
F Alvarez – Rd 30-32
I Herrera – Rd 13
A Barger – Rd 30-32
C Montgomery – Rd 30-32
L Butler – Rd 29 (already kept 1 of the 2 years)
B Doyle – Rd 28 (already kept 1 of the 2 years)
S Bieber Rd 30-32
A Chapman – Rd 14
Aside from Butler, they can all be kept for 2 years I’m leaning D Baldwin, F Alvarez, C Montgomery, L Butler, A Barger

Thank you!

Whats good Grey

Quick thoughts on the Razzslam team through 12 rounds.

JRAM
Woods
Yordan
Vinny P
Hunter Brown
M.Bush
Arozarena
Bradish
Stowers
Chapman
J.Ryan
B.Stott

Catchers went fast and now sort of waiting.. 2B the same, thinking Stott will be fine as long as I draft upside on the bench.

SS i have a plan haha.

OF have gotten shallow quick.

Overall an average team at best?

Quite difficult to access/navigate the site the past two days. I sent a few emails to various Razzball folks but have received no response. Will this situation persist or be resolved? Is there some problem on my end or with my subscription access? To get no response to polite enquiries just adds to the frustration.
