When I think of Blake Snell, all I can hear is Sheek Louch’s voice in ‘Wild Out’ from The Lox…

What’s a pitcher gotta do to make a half a million?! Must I wave it at your children?

In other words, what more than a Cy Young award does the left handed throwing Ace have to do to prove he is one of the best pitchers in Baseball?! Looking at ADP, it feels flat out disrespectful! But then at the same time, maybe it’s not. And even if it is, does it mean you should draft him? We went over it all, so you don’t have to!

@Crime Dog: Appreciated. Talent was always there, adjustments may have finally been made. I’m still bullish on him, but will try to get him in with some more depth.

I like Snell a lot…as one of the games true aces. I never used to reach for pitching, but this year feels different. The only guy I can see after him that I truly want to anchor my rotation is Bauer. Carrasco/Severino are a pass for me, and I likely won’t own them anywhere. Syndergaard is close, but the other guys have much larger question marks. Kershaw is a hard pass, Buehler is too young on a team that runs out like 20 starters per season, and I don’t see him getting more than 140 innings. Corbin has done it for 1 year, like Snell but not as well as Snell did. Paxton is good, but you are going to have a hard time winning an overall NFBC with your 1 putting up a mid 3s era. Clevinger is a no, Flaherty I like more as a 2. Greinke is just too scary with that 82mph spring training fastball, so then it all comes down to hitting on not only 1, but basically all your Pivettas, Biebers, Glasnows, Heaneys when everyone else is just trying to do the same thing. I dunno, just my 2 cents.

@cg: I accept your two cents! Snell and Flaherty would be a great start… but I agree, it’s tough for me to go pitching that early.

Hey Fellas, what’s your take on Snell v Nola in dynasty? They’re pretty close on about everything I’ve checked and haven’t yet found the tie-breaking data. Since there’s probably no way to get them both, I’d like to know how you all settle it. Thanks

@VinnyB: I think Snell’s season was the ceiling, and will be tough to replicate. I think Nola showed us his prime baseline. I also like the IPs that he’s already achieved. I’d lean Nola over Snell h2h.
