Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! I have a bit of a lyrical zap for y’all this afternoon.   “It’s been a mystery But still they try to see Why something good can hurt so bad.”   Oh, Steve Perry. You don’t know the half of it. It’s been quite the Journey with Bryan Woo over the […]

Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! Well, last week’s Wachanda Forever was much more of a super-zero jinx than a superhero celebration, so hopefully this week’s lede doesn’t suffer that same fate. But, there has to be good news now, right? The chosen one returns on Tuesday, and this fan of the Top 100 Starting Pitchers is […]

Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! I was all set to run with a lede for a certain Cleveland starting pitcher who flirted with a no-hitter last week, but Cade Smith’s attempt to lock down a clean save left Messick. So, I pivoted to another starting pitcher who has left many of us feeling happy, healthy, and […]

Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! I’ll admit that I am fully in on the traditional ‘nerd/geek’ stereotype activities that define said labels. Oh, really, MarmosDad? You mean the guy who writes Fantasy Baseball articles self-identifies as a nerd? Ok. Touché.  Did I play a musical instrument in high school? Perhaps. Have I been guilty of playing […]

Tigers SS Kevin McGonigle and Cardinals SS JJ Wetherholt got some good news this week: they’ll be breaking camp as big leaguers. The early frontrunners for rookie of the year forced the issue by walking more than they struck out in spring training. Each hit two homers and stole two bases. Left-handed hitters who are both listed at five-foot-nine, they may find themselves conversationally linked throughout their careers after sharing this spotlight.

Twins RHP Mick Abel (24) bullied a lineup built mostly of backup Braves, recording six strikeouts in three scoreless innings. I don’t care much about the lineup, actually, because Abel looked excellent, spotting a 97 mile an hour fastball and sweepy slider time after time. He got taken out into the field a bit in 2025, but it was just 39 innings, and the jump from Triple-A to the major leagues proves difficult for pretty much every prospect these days.

Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! Deep leaguers, rejoice! We’ve arrived at your favorite stop on the Preseason Starting Pitching whirlwind that is the Top 100 Starting Pitchers list tour! Last year, I titled this one “The Next Next 100 Or No Dessert Until You Finish Your Brandon Sproats.” This was where we peeked in on the […]

1. OF Josue De Paula | 20 | AA | 2027

Listed at 6’3” 185 pounds, De Paula appears to be bigger than that to the naked eye–not that I’m walking around with inappropriate eyewear looking at teenage athletes. A left-handed hitter with great plate skills and impressive contact skills for a guy with his raw power, De Paula has yet to really lift the ball in regular season play, topping out at 12 home runs in 98 High-A games in 2025, slashing .263/.406/.421 with 86 strikeouts, 81 walks, and 32 steals in 40 attempts. He was 2.2 years younger than the average age in the Midwest League, so we have a lot of reasons to believe the power will come sooner than later. He closed out the season with a week in Double-A, where he will likely open 2026 as one the youngest players at that level.

1. C OF Dalton Rushing | 24 | AAA | 2025

I started this list thinking it might be impossible for any of these guys to crack baseball’s best lineup this season, but there’s a non-zero chance Rushing winds up an opening day outfielder in Los Angeles. They’ll certainly bring in a veteran or two, but his primary competition today would be Andy Pages and James Outman. A left-handed hitter at 6’1” 220 lbs, Rushing hit 26 home runs in 114 games across Double and Triple-A last season, slashing .271/.385/.512 on the strength of his trademark patience at the plate.

Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! I believe it was on this week’s pod that BDon razzed Grey about using references from the 80s, pointing out “That was forty years ago, Grey”. Well, don’t worry my Bo-Bichette-bashing-buddy, I’ve managed to bring our readers way back to the future…with a music reference that I thought was at least […]
