1. 1B Bryce Eldridge | 20 | AAA | 2026

Here’s what I said on August 28 in Prospect News: Bryce Eldridge Brings The Horror:

“Giants 1B Bryce Eldridge (19, A+) is making a push for consensus Top 25 prospect status heading into the off-season. In 42 High-A games, he’s slashing .307/.421/.503 with seven home runs and three steals. His 16.3 percent walk rate and 24.7 percent strikeout rate are incredibly exciting numbers for a 6’7” high-school draftee with 80-grade power.”

The big lefty then spent September split between Double and Triple-A, spending nine games with Richmond and then the final eight with Sacramento. Tough to say where he’ll open 2025, but he could wind up in the majors by season’s end.

76. Reds RHP Chase Petty | 20 | AA | 2024

The 26th overall pick in 2021, Petty enjoyed a breakout season in 2023, recording a 1.73 ERA in 68 innings across two levels where he was younger than his competitors by 3.1 years and 4.3 years on average. At 6 ‘1” 190 lbs, Petty features a wipeout slider and demonstrates an aptitude for spin that portends well for his year-over-year development.

1. SS Marco Luciano | 22 | MLB | 2023

Luciano was rushed to the majors despite struggling at most stops along the way, and Farhan Zaidi has said he’ll have a chance to open 2024 as the starting shortstop despite hitting .209 with a 35.9 percent strikeout rate in 18 Triple-A games and .231 with a 37.8 percent strikeout rate in his 14-game September stint. If he does get that job, he’s going to have some rough patches. Like a lot of players who signed just before 2020, he hasn’t really played all that much and retains some hidden topside as he settles in at the highest level.

76. Mets SS Ronny Mauricio | 22 | MLB | 2023

Breakout season began in winter ball but has been complicated by the club’s efforts to find its best lineup. Probably should’ve been playing big league second base a long time ago. Jeff McNeil was a nice find, but he’s 31 years old with a .324 slugging percentage. He’s essentially Luis Guillorme without the cool infield defense. How any club lets him block a bonus baby coming into his own is beyond me.
