As we approach the final weeks of the fantasy baseball season the mantra remains the same: balance no longer matters, attack categories. We no longer care about complete players we want playing time and the skills that are most valuable to our own respective teams. With that said, let’s take a look at some potentially available waiver wire targets for the last stretch.
- Elvis Andrus (CWS) – Since coming over to Chicago Andrus has had a resurgence of sorts. He has five homers and two steals across 102 PAs. He plays regularly and has shown enough speed in the past that you could look for him to add a few on as the season grinds to a halt.
- Wil Meyers (SDP) – Myers has been a massive disappointment this season but in the last week, he has a wRC+ of 154 and a homer and a steal. He is going to have low BA floor but there’s enough upside here where he could be a freely available power speed option in most leagues.
- Isiah Kiner-Falefa (NYY) – After looking like he may lose his job IKF may have been dropped by his owners. He has stolen three bags in the last two weeks and seems to have regained regular playing time. There are worst players to take a chance on.
- Ildemaro Vargas (WSH) – One of the beneficiaries of the Washington trades has been Vargas who has shown some intrigue in his short stint. He only has three steals in 150 PAs but there were two swipes in the last 14 days.

There are not many changes at the top of the board but Jacob Stallings has regained his position at number one. He still remains one of our top targets for stolen base threats to go along with Austin Nola. A name we have not talked about too much is Elias Diaz the Rockies primary catcher. He has allowed 47 stolen bases thus far and to finish the season he faces the Cubs, Giants, Padres, and Dodgers. For the Giants, he has six games against them and they are a team where we can find some cheap steal sources. Thiaro Estrada was a popular add earlier in the season and when he was hurt many may have dropped him. His full-time job appears to be back and he has the ability to have truly impactful speed as the season comes to a close.
