I was excited when Truss messaged me yesterday and asked if I’d be willing to step in for Dan Pants to do the Daily Notes this weekend. Don’t get me wrong, I love writing up the Top 100 Starting Pitchers each week, but doing the rundown of a full Friday slate is pretty awesome too. […]

*Knocks on wood* we luckily did not have THAT bad of an injury week. Nowhere close to last week’s bloodbath which almost made me log out of ESPN and Fantrax for this season. We all know what this means though…prepare your collective butts for next week and let’s dive into the news of the weekend. […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Martha, I hope this letter finds you well. I’m stationed in SacTown. Currently, I’m sweating and having a fight with myself in a mirror when I receive a telegram from a young Harrison Ford. I have to get Kurtz out of the jungle. No, not Vietnam, I said SacTown. That is literally this city’s name. […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Okay, friends, we’re more than halfway through April already, and the stats are starting to pile up. Still a small sample size, certainly, but I think we’re all starting to get a better idea of how our teams are shaping up to fare over the course of a long season. Whether you’re off to a […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?I know, I know. You saw the title of this article, the clever play on “ERA”, and immediately thought to yourself, “my boy Maks is going to do what he always does and bring the statistical heat that will help calm my anxiety about my struggling ace.” I’m looking at managers currently suffering through rough […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?DFS is about decision making. Before constructing your lineup on any given slate, it is best to assess what types of decisions you will need to make and then start working through those decisions. Let’s take tonight as an example. When I look at this slate I see some obvious SP choices at the top […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Brewers called up Caleb Durbin. What? No, not Dyler Turban. Hey, first rule of Vindaloo Club is don’t talk about the Pakistani Brad Pitt playing Dyler Turban in the Bollywood movie, Vindaloo Club. Second rule, same as the first, stop talking about it! The third rule of Vindaloo Club, don’t ask for mild. It’s curry, […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Back in 1982, there was an epidemic of catastrophic proportions: kids all across the land were trying to launch their BMX’s into the sky…. ….thanks to the movie E.T., the Extra-Terrestrial. Anyways, the synopsis of the movie is that an extra terrestrial gets stuck on Earth and tries to get back home. After trials and […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? This week’s article is going to take a look at my top 20 ranking list for 2B-eligible players. We are at the point in the season where some hitting metrics, especially plate discipline numbers, are starting to stabilize, so we can actually make a few somewhat educated assessments of how players look this year. We’re […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?In our 87th episode, Mike Couillard and Jeremy Brewer open by talking about the return of the man with power thighs and a glorious mustache along with the latest transactions and injuries. Then we overview which current minor leaguers are worth stashing in reserve spots on our fantasy teams before evaluating who might be next. You can […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Put on my Dale Murphy jersey, placed my Jimmy Carter coaster under my glass bottle Classic Coke, said five “Jane Fondas” as I threw a dart dead-center into my Ted Turner dartboard. I was locked into the A-T-L, and you could tell because I was asking everyone to call me Grey 3000 while singing apologies […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Marlins RHP Adam Mazur (23, AAA) struggled as a rookie with the Padres last season and found himself and his 7.49 ERA on a flight to Miami. He’s been much better as a Triple-A pitcher this year than he was last year, posting a 1.29 ERA and 0.63 WHIP in three games covering 14.1 innings. He pitched to a 4.73 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 93.1 innings last year, so an off-season with a new organization has done him some good. Miami has Cal Quantrill and Connor Gillispie in the rotation right now, so you can’t exactly say Mazur is blocked. They’re actually playing .500 baseball right now in South Beach at eight-and-eight. Probably not wise to bet on that continuing, but I thought it might take them until May to collect eight wins. Griffin Conine, Kyle Stowers, Xavier Edwards and Matt Mervis are all playing well and creating some optimism in the Wins category for investors in fishy pitchers.
