Explain baseball to an alien? Can we start with this: What if all those Bubbas were in the majors at the same time? Would you be worried? How would it make you feel? Would you think, “Am I baseball fan or,” considered pause, as you turn to the mirror and continue, “A Bubba watcher?” I […]

Depending on how your season’s going, it may be hard for you to believe that we’re already about a month in, because time is flying so fast as your teams are happily hovering at the top of the standings. Or, it may feel more like the all star break should have been here a week […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? We’re approximately 15% of the way through the season and have no idea who the Cy Young winners are going to be, but as crazy as it sounds we have a pretty good idea of which pitchers it won’t be, and if you don’t believe me, you’re gonna wanna read to the end of this […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? So, that’s why they got rid of Zac Veen? Oh, you know I’m on that bullshit still. You know I am! How do you not know this by now? This is what I do! Complain about the Rockies! Jordan Beck had a three-homer day yesterday, going 4-for-7 with 5 RBIs as the Rockies were swept […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?I used to love watching all the home renovation shows….until I actually started doing those renovations myself. So much pain. So much blood. So many tears. I gotta say, though. Looking back at those times now, I’m glad I did them. I learned so many new skills and I garnered some street cred with the […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? For this week, I thought I would focus on some potential waiver wire adds in shallow leagues. Below, I’ve discussed three names that are being added at a high rate in deeper leagues like Fantrax and NFBC, but what about the types of leagues that most fantasy managers play? Can these guys be a help […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Major League Baseball has now played four of 26 weeks this season, which means we have minimal stats to evaluate players for our fantasy baseball squads. With Opening Day past us and the dog days of summer ahead, who have been some of the more interesting risers and fallers? In the aggregate, four weeks of […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?In our 88th episode, Mike Couillard and Jeremy Brewer open by talking about the myriad of prospect callups that occurred this past week along with other news and notes on injuries and roster moves affecting fantasy leagues. Then we discuss the newest baseball card set release from Topps, 2025 Heritage, in stores everywhere April 23. You can […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? How did the Cubs turn Wrigley, an extreme pitchers’ park, into an extreme hitters’ park, and why do I think I don’t know her name, but that girl goes by She Nanigans? Did they tell some Cubs fan that New York pizza is better than Chicago pizza, hand them a bat and let them beat […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The Athletics are officially promoting 1B Nick Kurtz to the rank of major leaguer, and like the winding journey into the heart of darkness we find in Apocalypse Now, things are about to get a little weird in Sacramento. Good weird though, like the early Rockies teams that leaned all the way into the collect-mashers advantage of playing half your games in Coors Field. I don’t know if you have to avoid the A’s the way you had to avoid trips up the mountain, but I’d rather not throw any of my starters in their park if I could avoid it. A lineup composed of Kurtz, Soderstrom, Rooker, Butler, Langeliers, Bleday and Jacob Wilson presents a lot of tough outs with nasty consequences for misplaced pitches. My AL Only squad is stoked to see him. They’re in first place despite losing Grayson Rodriguez and Luis Gil before the season started, and their only chance to hold the top spot is to mash like a mixed league club.

Please, blog, may I have some more?Remember that one Razzball writer, the guy who said that shallow positions aren’t shallow, they’re just waiting for guys to ascend to their new lofty heights? Genius, that guy is. Especially with Nick Kurtz receiving the call in Oakland. Kurtz is the rarest of modern breeds: a first base bat prospect taken in the first […]
