Rockies new starting 1B Warming Bernabel is the kind of guy who should thrive in Coors. He hasn’t always hit for power as he’s climbed the system, but he’s always made contact and been difficult to strike out. I know he’s here now because Ryan McMahon is not, but I’m hopeful we’re seeing something of a sea change in Colorado. Perhaps the front office has seen the value of stacking plus contact guys in a big ballpark and will continue to acquire and play guys like Bernabel and Tyler Freeman. Coors hasn’t been a basher’s ballpark for quite some time thanks in part to the humidor, but there’s still a million base hits to be had for anyone who puts the ball in play. Man I wish I hadn’t released Mickey Moniak off a team of mine that has Byron Buxton and Ronald Acuña Jr. At least Cardinals C Ivan Herrera played outfield the other day. Maybe he’ll add eligibility in time to help. On the other end of this trade, new Yankees 3B Ryan McMahon gets a fresh lease on competitive baseball in New York. It’s hard to predict how a Rockie will roll once he’s escaped Coors, but this sure feels like an excellent fit.

Please, blog, may I have some more?Growing up as the son of a pastor, switching schools and moving was part of the deal. I moved in fourth grade, transferred from a small Christian school to a decent-sized public one, moved again at 17, and went alone to college, knowing nobody. Trade deadlines hit different for The Educator. Imagine uprooting your life […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Andrew Vaughn (3-for-4, 2 runs, 6 RBIs and his 10th homer) left the White Sox and he’s like a newly divorced man of 60 who has given up on love, when he wanders into a brewery, meets a large-headed Brewer named Bernie and remembers what it was about baseball that he once loved. He smiles […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? What a difference a week makes. We are just getting back into the groove after the ASB, Nick Kurtz is going second-half league winner and the #60 overall pick and top RP pick in the RCLs this year has been suspended as part of a gambling ring. Emmanuel Clase threw away so much potential cash […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Howdy y’all! Welcome back to our mostly weekly stolen base check-in over here at Razzball. I’m back from a couple work trips and have a few more coming up in August, so I’ll be sporadic as I usually am later in the season. Hope everyone who hasn’t moved on to fantasy football is still looking […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?We have just about made it to the trade deadline and the end of July. I looked at Outifields in Flux last week, but unwittingly only included AL teams. With plenty of moves almost certain in the next few days, I figured it made more sense to wait on the NL under we get more […]

This week, we dig into a wild mix of trade activity, prospect call-ups, and some concerning developments off the field. Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz have been placed on non-disciplinary paid leave as MLB investigates gambling allegations, and Grey has his own […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Um, uh-oh. Luis Ortiz https://t.co/AKvRg96R6y pic.twitter.com/Ual0yxr1t0 — Razzball (@Razzball) July 28, 2025 Luis Ortiz out there naming names and unfortunately for Emmanuel Clase you can’t spell names without Emmanuel Clase. So, did Clase look like garbage in April because Draft Kings had a Promo Code, ClaseGarbage? Use it for a free $5 free roll?! Did […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! Wow! It’s been a full week since I wrote something up and, to be honest, it feels like I’ve been gone for a month. Please, blog, may I have some more? Can you believe it’ll be August this week? How time flies…especially during the Summer. It seems like the All-Star Game was just a week ago! The next big day on the calendar for most of us fantasy ballers is our league’s trade deadline. Now’s the time to beef up your roster for the playoffs or […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? This is an odd time of year. Every baseball team is evaluating a balance of its immediate and extended future. With two months of the 2025 regular season left, plenty could change, but teams are forced to act decisively with the upcoming trade deadline. For the sake of fantasy baseball, new injuries could extend until […]
