In the world of fantasy baseball, one of the most exciting and challenging aspects is managing young players. There is incredible opportunity as players are discounted due to the potential variability they bring to our game. Whether it is a lack of track record at the major league level or the uncertainty of playing time, the market is simply not efficient with these youngsters. For many managers, the potential to find an upstart rookie is just too much to pass up. These up-and-coming players can make or break a fantasy season. Let’s delve into a few young players that are trying to establish themselves as mainstays in our fantasy lineup in this week’s version of Hitter Profiles.

We knew it would be a rough week when two of our streamers got injured on Monday. The good news is that we didn’t have anyone get blown up, but having two of our recommendations get injured really hurt. In any case, we were rolling before that article and feel confident about the streamers for […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?1. Pirates RHP Paul Skenes | 21 | MLB | 2024
2. Nationals OF James Wood | 21 | AAA | 2024
3. Orioles SS Jackson Holliday | 20 | MLB | 2024
4. Rangers OF Wyatt Langford | 22 | MLB | 2024
5. Rays 3B Junior Caminero | 20 | MLB | 2023
These guys are untouchable like Sean Connery swearing at Kevin Costner. Despite rocky starts for Holliday and Langford, few questions remain about their long-term viability as core dynasty assets.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Baseball and our realm, fantasy baseball, is a game of constant adjustments. If you aren’t re-evaluating your approach and the environments around you, it’s easy to fall behind. Hell, just ask John Mozeliak. Well, we aren’t planning to stagnate into a certain way of being here around Razzball (unless that involves hammering you to death […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Welcome back, everyone. I hope you are enjoying your start to (hopefully) your three-day weekend.
As we make our tour around the majors and talk about up-and-coming dynasty players, we land in the Pacific Northwest this weekend and feature a pitcher for the Seattle Mariners.
Bryce Miller is now in his second season with the Mariners. Originally drafted in the 38th round by Miami in the 2018 draft. Miller decided to instead transfer from Blinn College in Brenham, Texas, and head to College Station to pitch for Texas A&M. The move worked out for Miller.
Three years later he was drafted in the fourth round by Seattle in 2021 and by 2023 he was pitching in the majors.
So let’s talk about Bryce Miller, an up-and-coming dynasty player.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Welcome back to another rousing edition of Razzball Ambulance Chasers. The bodies are still warm. The hamstrings are served strained. Speaking of rousing, warm, and strained, I took a note from MarmosDad’s playbook and injured my leg in a sports incident (or rather a series of sports incidents). Now, I get to attend weekly physical […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Junior Caminero sounds like a store you take your little one to when he wants to dress like a little cowboy. “Jorge, you be daddy’s best boy and I will dress you like a vaquero.” [sees a family of vaqueros walking through the Glendale Galleria] Me, a very Anglo, says to the camera, “I know […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Hello deep leaguers, and happy Memorial Day weekend! It’s an odd time in the baseball year; in a way it still feels like it just started, but most teams have played more than 50 games at this point, so in actuality we’re almost one-third of the way through the season. SO much can happen from […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Welcome back for another exciting edition of Analytics Anonymous. For this meeting, we’re going to do something a little different. It’s Fantasy Baseball TRIVIA NIGHT! That’s right, we’re going to combine two beloved activities into this action-packed meeting – bar-room trivia and baseball analytics. Your mission, if you choose to accept it (and since you’re […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? It’s not a great sign when you have one moment every month where it seems like you’ve finally woken up, then immediately go back to sleep. Could Nick Castellanos (2-for-4 and his 5th homer, hitting .206), the Greek God of Hard Contact be at his mother’s diner being served toast? Is no longer a gyro […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?I was born and raised in Los Angeles, so Los Doyers has always been my squad. As a result, that team up in The Bay, where hella painfully reverberates in my dome, was a bastion of infidels. As I’ve gotten older and, hopefully, more emotionally mature, rooting for laundry is no longer my sole existence […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Since the dawn of time, fantasy baseball writers have used puns to title their blog posts. This is a tradition carried over from the olden thymes, eons ago when man pulped trees to create very delicate flat wisps, upon which etchings and scrawlings of every day activities where thenceforth transcribed. Even the title phrase of Bible is a pun. Jesus Christ would shorten the term “imbibe” to “bibe,” when he was discussing his need to attend an early afternoon Pizza Hut buffet. “Judas,” he would say to his BFF, “Let us stalk two-footedly to The Hut, we must bibe the garlic bread before the Romans go on lunch break.” If the so-called great book revels in the puns, then let us not believe ourselves to be above the practice.
