Friday’s slate is a doozy with 13 games that are hard to sift through and see much of anything standing out. There are no clear starting pitcher plays (are there ever?) and there are very few offensive spots where you could justify a 5 man stack. However, it is highly likely that 5 man stacks […]

I’ve always been fascinated by garage sales, Storage Wars, and Antique Roadshow. All have stories of people discovering treasure in what many assume to be trash. Some may be in plain sight while others were buried under something. A little cleaning and digging sometimes makes it all worth it, although the probabilities are low that […]

In our 46th episode, Mike Couillard and Jeremy Brewer open with banter on the latest moves and news including injuries to Ronald Acuna Jr. and Xander Bogaerts along with the Angel Hernandez’s retirement and the inclusion of Negro Leagues stats in the MLB record book. Been a downbeat week around the fantasy game. Nobody likes to see a star like Ronald Acuña Jr. lose another season to injury. Baseball is just a tick less interesting today. For our game, there’s not much one can do to replace an Acuña. In a 15-teamer where I’ve gotten off to a fast start and am in first place, I traded Kodai Senga, Landon Knack and Abimelec Ortiz for Brandon Nimmo. He’s not going to approximate Acuña, but he should fill an outfield spot and help me hold down the Runs category. He’s batting third this season and is on pace for his best RBI season by a long ways, even as his batting average has tumbled. He’s painting the statcast bars red, and his career outcomes suggest he’s got upside in the batting average category. Now I just need to replace a few dozen stolen bases. No big deal, right?

I’m still an honest Mariners fan. The offense still is not particularly threatening (despite SOME recent success) and Justin Verlander is Justin Verlander. Kirby is on the mound for the Mariners. This is easily one of the best pitching matchups of the evening. There is no reason why both Verlander and Kirby can’t dominate the […]

Braves are calling up one of their top pitching prospects, Spencer Schwellenbach, for today’s game. That’s right, Schwellenbach is a Braves’ pitching prospect, and not what the doctor says every time Brandon Lowe complains of lower back pain. “Sorry, your fourth and fifth vertebrae are pressing against each other. You have a Schwellenbach!” Kinda crappy […]
