If Tyler Chatwood ($15,300) never had to step foot in Coors Field again, he would probably be contending for the Cy Young every year… ok he wouldn’t be, but thats how good he has been on the road since 2013. Only Clayton Kershaw ($25,200) has a better road ERA during that span. Chatwood has a 2.35 ERA this season so far on the road; now he gets the low hitting Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates ranked 25th or worse in each of the following hitting categories: Runs, HRs, avg, and OPS. So you can say he is set up nicely against that line up. Kershaw is also on the slate and has to go on the road against the defending American League champs. The Cleveland Indians offense has been horrendous versus LHP (.236 AVG .691 OPS), making Kershaw an automatic play in cash games. There are some nice pitching options that won’t cost you an arm and leg, though, so let’s take a look at the picks…

Ty Blach, P: $13,200 – Not the sexiest pick as he currently has a 3.6K/9 so he isn’t going to rack up the points that way, but he does have a 1.75 ERA at home in 36 innings of work. He gets a struggling KC Royals teams which ranks towards the bottom in most offensive categories.
Didi Gregorius, IF: $8,400 – Swinging a scorching bat right now as he has a 14 game hit streak. Hitting in one of the best line-ups in baseball this year, he should continue to stuff the stats sheet vs. JC Ramirez tonight.
Mitch Moreland, IF: $8,800 – A very solid .371 wOBA and .891 OPS vs. RHP; gets rookie pitcher Blake Lively who hasn’t been mowing down any batters.
Miguel Cabrera, IF: $6,800 – This is a ridiculous price for a hitter of Miggy’s caliber. He has been struggling this season but has been hitting the ball better lately. At this price he is well worth it.
Ryon Healy, IF: $7,200 – Hitting .345 with 6 HRs over the last two weeks, has a very nice matchup against Jose Urena. He is suffering from a case of reverse splits, righties are hitting .288 off him and have a .392 wOBA.
Marwin Gonzalez, IF: $8,400 – Has mashed RHP all year to the tune of a 1.061 OPS and 9 of his 12 HRs and vs. righties. Excellent matchup against Dillon Gee, who is somehow still on an MLB roster. Gee has allowed 4 HRs in his 10 innings of work this year.
Brett Gardner, OF: $9,600 – Has been killing RHP pitching (.532 SLG, .898 OPS) and surprisingly also has 13 HRs in 2017. Gets a solid matchup against JC Ramirez, who has had his struggles versus Lefties (.375 wOBA, 9 HRs allowed).
Charlie Blackmon, OF: $10,800 – Riding a 10 game hit streak and other than Aaron Judge, there hasn’t been a better fantasy weapon this season. Carrying a 1.049 OPS vs. RHP and gets a struggling Gerrit Cole.
Stephen Piscotty, OF: $6,800 – Finally starting to heat up after slow start (1.063 OPS .351 last 15 games). Wily Peralta getting a spot start is someone you might want to stack against.
I’m Only Happy When it Rains
The only place with truly worrisome weather is the NYMvsCHC tilt and even that is just a spot for a worry wart to dither about. Keep your eyes peeled on Flushing, but also peeled for STLvsMIL and WASvsATL in case the weather forecast takes a turn for the worse.
Doing Lines In Vegas
Washington Nationals are listed at -200, that is a huge number for a team that has Joe Ross on the mound. He has been inconsistent to say the least so Atlanta is a great value pick for the night. Another huge favorite on the night are the Boston Red Sox at -235 as they have David Price on the mound. Some big run totals are listed tonight so expect some crooked numbers on the scoreboard. A slugfest is expected between the Whitesoxs and Orioles; that game is listed at 10.5 runs. Mariners and Twins have a total of 10 runs so you might want to look for some bats in those games.
