I know what you’re thinking, he’s switching it up and leading with a hitter? Nah, not this early in the season, this article isn’t about Aaron Judge (although he is an absolute beast); it’s actually about Luis Severino who’s $15,600 is a great value tonight. We all know that The Great Bambino started out as a pitcher and since the Yankees have changed their pinstripes as of late, I’m crushing on this new crop of talent. Little know fact: I’m a big Yankees fan ever since the Don Mattingly days and it’s been a while since I had something to get excited about. Honestly, the last time I had the warm and fuzzies when it came to the Bronx Bombers was when I was at Yankee Stadium celebrating Derek Jeter’s walk off win against the O’s. Granny Law has been instituted in the form of Larry Rothschild and I’m praying that he finally broke the wild horses that we know as Luis Severino and Michael Pineda. It’s been a rocky road with the two of these young bucks; they giveth and they taketh away in the blink of a ticker. Stacks on stacks of Ks, then they take your ERA/WHIP and smash it so fine that you could use it to chalk the foul lines on your coffee table. There’s a reason Grey is cuckoo for both these guys, they got mad, crazy potential, yo! “All I want to do is talk about Severino. He is breaking out, and looks like he could be a top 20 starter this year.” That’s me quoting Grey and I have to say, I absolutely agree with him. The Baby Bambino faces a depleted Blue Jays line up at home tonight and if he can come close to his outing in Boston last week, – 7 IP, 0 ER, 5 baserunners, 6 Ks – then we’ll be in a good spot to cash in tonight.

Michael Wacha, SP: $14,400 – Wacha, Wacha! I Love me some Muppets references but, all jokes aside, Wacha is another great value tonight at home vs the Brew Crew. He’s scored at least 16.90 points in all of his four starts topping out vs the Reds back in April.
Lance McCullers, SP: $20,800 – McKKKKKKKullers has 2 klunkers this year where he gave up 5 ER, but he’s put up at least 5 Ks in every start and he’s clipped 36 Ks in just 29 innings. Stream-O-Nator LOVES this start vs the Rangers. I have Lance Romance on all my teams, but I’m a little hesitant on this start. Big risk, big reward is in play tonight.
Clayton Kershaw, SP: $27,000 – If you can afford him, it’s a no brainer. My only dig is that he only put up 27.55 in his start against the Giants last week and I got 27.75 from Corbin the same night, so value is key.
Matt Carpenter, IF: $8,100 – I like the Cardinals bats tonight against Zach Davies and I think Gyorko and Carpenter will tag team some solid points tonight.
Jedd Gyorko, IF: $7,600 – See above. Gyorko has been heating up as of late and his BVP is one of the best tonight, 7/10 with a Bomb.
Starlin Castro, IF: $6,800 – Nice discount for a guy who leads the league in multi-hit games. He’s been sneaky hot the first month of the season and I think he’ll keep swinging vs Marco Estrada.
Alex Avila, IF: $5,400 – Zoinks!!! I’m rostering a catcher. Avila has found his stroke that he had back in 13 or 14 – IDK it seems like forever ago – but dude looks good. He’s also rocking a solid BVP vs Trevor Bauer, 7/18 with 2 Bombs.
Mookie Betts, OF: $10,400 – I got a feeling about Mookie tonight, he’s facing Dylan Bundy and he typically does his best work against the number ones. All Betts are on Mookie.
Matt Kemp, OF: $8,400 – Kemp’s been quietly swinging it since he got back from the DL and with a very small sample size, he’s 4/9 with a Bomb vs Robert Gsellman.
Mark Trumbo, OF: $8,400 – He was ice cold to in April, but now that it’s May the Trumbomb’s are about to rain.
Billy Hamilton, OF: $7,800 – He’s facing Gerrit Cole tonight and if Billy can get on he’ll be going Hambone on the base paths. Cole is one of the worst in the league when it comes to SB’s and Billy Boy already has 10 bags swiped against him.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
I’m feeling extremely fortunate because for the second week in a row it’s clear skies across the board, except a 30% chance of thunderstorms in the NYY vs TOR game between 8-9pm.
Doing Lines In Vegas
The human K machine Clayton Kershaw leads the pack at -240 against Johnny Cueto tonight, but McCullers has a solid -182 as well. Not a lot of variance in the O/U department, most games are falling in the 7-8.5 range. The Indians and Tigers look to have the highest run total at 9 for the night.
