Happy Friday Razzballers and welcome to FanDuel Friday.  It’s looking like we could have some potential rain issues on this full slate, but we’ll do our best to monitor and adjust closer to lineup lock.  If the rain holds off in Hotlanta tonight I’m all over Sean Newcomb ($8,900) as my top pitching play.  First of all, the O’s are in an NL park, which means Alex Cobb will have a bat in his hands.  Secondly, the O’s have been dreadful. They have the third worst team OPS and are 11th in team strikeouts.  As long as Newcomb can be efficient with his pitches, he should have no trouble mowing down O’s. The 9+ k-rate is juicy and the 3.23 FIP shows that the 2.70 ERA isn’t that fluky.  Oh, and just for good measure, Alex Cobb and his 7.14 ERA are in town, so the Braves bats should have a field day. Now, let’s hope Mother Nature cooperates with our money-making plans.

Alex Wood, SP: $7,400 – Sticking with teams we can pick on, the Dodgers are facing the Mets tonight.  The Mets have been a hot mess. Wood hasn’t been setting the world on fire, but the Dodgers are decent-sized favorites at -155 and he’s at least been serviceable.  If you need to save the dough, he’s a good pivot.

Jon Gray, SP: $6,800 – Gray is a GPP only play tonight.  The strikeout upside is intoxicating and eventually his rotten luck has to turn.  Gray is rocking an 11+ k-rate, the highest of his career but the 5.89 has been brutal.  Fortunately, the 3.14 FIP tells a different story. Maybe tonight, against the league’s worst offense is the night it all comes together for Gray.

Eric Thames, C/1B: $3,400 – I always enjoy some platoon advantage at Miller Park.  Flaherty has been tough lately, but even he can succumb to the terrors of Miller Park.

Chris Iannetta, C/1B: $3,000 – Here’s a sneaky way to get some Coors exposure, something I’m always looking for.  Iannetta will likely be underowned with FanDuel’s Cather/1B combo position. So, if he homers, you could be one of very few to benefit.

Dee Gordon, 2B: $3,100 – Speedster vs. knuckler, I’m all for it.  It only takes a pitch or two in the dirt for Dee to run wild and rack up points.

Eduardo Nunez, 2B: $2,500 – Wade LeBlanc in Fenway Park, yea, I think I’ll take some of that exposure please and thank you.

Matt Duffy, 3B: $2,700 – Obviously, I’m giving you some cheaper options here.  If you can fit Arenado, you play Arenado, but Duffy offers you some cash savings to stock up other places if needed.  Go check our Duffy’s game log, he’s a model of consistency, rarely giving you a zero and usually providing 12-20 points a night.  These guys have value too!

Justin Turner, 3B: $3,200 – I’m not sure what to make of Zack Wheeler this year, but I do not he’s not a pitcher I fear.  Another cost-savings option, Turner should be in for a solid game tonight.

Elvis Andrus, SS: $3,200 – How long before Andrus is playing like a top 5 SS again?  If you think that it is sooner than later, then hop on him now while his price is depressed.

Willy Adames, SS: $2,200 – I love saving money at middle infield to stack my team elsewhere and rookies are a great way to make that happen.  Barely above the minimum, Adames is decent upside for super cheap.

Noel Cuevas, OF: $3,000 – More cheap Coors exposure!  As the only righty in the OF rotation, there’s a good chance Cuevas gets in there tonight against whatever remains of Wei-Yin Chen’s career.

Derek Dietrich, OF: $3,500 – If you’re not interested in playing Jon Gray, then can I suggest stacking against him and hoping that mirror he broke while walking under a ladder as black cat walked by sticks with him.  Dietrich is hitting .345 the past 30 days too.

Wil Myers, OF: $2,600 – Players coming off an injury are another great cost-savings option on FanDuel.  Myers could easily clock a dinger or two tonight and could go under owned.

Ben Gamel, OF: $2,200 – Gamel is hitting .373 and has swiped 4 bags in the past month.  Surprising? I think so. He’s got the platoon advantage going and like Dee could steal a base or two is Wright goes wild.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

It might be easier to list the games that don’t have any rain in the forecast, but here goes the ones to keep an eye on: PHI@WAS, ARI@PIT, CHC@CIN, DET@CLE and BAL@ATL.

Doing Lines In Vegas

Dallas Keuchel and the Astros are the biggest favorites tonight at a whopping -300.  However, I’m pretty happy to see Gray and the Rox at -205 faves. The biggest over/under is also in Coors at 11.5 runs, but DET@CLE (Fiers vs. Bieber) sits at 9.5.  Stack those Indians to pivot off Coors! The lowest run total tonight is 7.5 for the SD@SF tilt. Two bad offenses in a pitchers park.
