Raise your hand if you got burned by Justin Masterson‘s last two starts. If you detect a touch of Old Spice deodorant and bitterness that’s because I’ve got both of my arms straight up in the air on this one. Bet you’re wondering how I can still type. That’s a trade secret Sky taught me. I haven’t been this mad at an Indian since I caught my neighbor Joe Charboneau peeing on my rose bushes. Don’t think I can’t see you Super Joe! As our fearless leader, George W. Bush used to say, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me…you can’t get fooled again.”

That’s why this week I’m learning my lesson and going for the ace instead of trying to get cute with pitching values. Which leads me to this week’s pick, Max Scherzer, whose nice match-up against the Padres and all-around goodness make him a great start today. He’s perched atop the Stream-o-Nator at a $25 value, and while he’ll cost you $11,900 to roster, he’s worth every penny.

As always, the Hitter-Tron and the Stream-O-Nator are your best friends in this DraftKings venture. Their cold, emotionless robot minds are perfect for gambling. Signing up for DraftKings is easy…just click here. There’s also a great contest happening now called the Sweet Spot. Good luck and let’s look at some of the other picks for today…

Tony Cingrani, SP: $9,400 – Stream-o-Nator likes Cingrani at a $15 value, and he’s second only to Scherzer in strikeout value. He’s coming off a bit of a rough start against the Cardinals, but the Rays look to be a more favorable match-up for him in his home ballpark.

Brandon Moss, 1B/OF: $4,200 – Moss is today’s Hitter-Tron darling, valued at $40. Chris Young is on the mound for Seattle. ‘Tron must think Moss will teach the righty from Princeton a thing or two.

Alfonso Soriano, OF: $4,500 – Soriano is on a little hot streak right now with homers on back-to-back days. He’ll look to make it three straight against Felix Doubront. He’s smacked two dingers in just five at bats against the lefty.

Yadier Molina, C ($4,900) – Molina is 12-for-23 with three homers against Edwin Jackson, but keep an eye on the weather for this one, especially with Molina costing you nearly $5K.

Adam LaRoche, 1B: $4,200 – Nothing fancy here. LaRoche is hitting .400 over the past week, and he has hit four home runs in 33 at bats against the Harangatan.

Chris Carter, 1B/OF: $4,100 – Carter hasn’t hit a homer yet heading into Saturday night’s games, so I’m going out on a limb a bit with him. He is 6-for -11 with two homers against Martin Perez.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

It’s really not looking good for the CLE/CWS game, with a chance of thunderstorms pretty much all day (70%). Elsewhere, there’s the possibility of some precipitation for both the CHC/STL and HOU/TEX matchups (~30%).

Doing Lines In Vegas

I like MIA@PHI (8 1/2) and HOU@TEX (9). Giancarlo Stanton and Chase Utley could produce 8 runs between them, and the Stream-o-Nator isn’t showing much love for Martin Perez or Brett Oberholtzer.
