Hello, how are you doing? Have you made it to a game yet? I haven’t. Also, Franchy Cordero has hit a home run in the last three games for the Yankees. This might be important to other DFS picks and break-down articles you read today. He still has a cheap salary. He still has an opportunity as the Yankees deal with the injury bug. He is still facing a right-handed pitcher. These are the important parts. The three home runs in a row don’t mean anything today. Don’t believe me? Go check out this old article from our overlord Rudy about the relationship between previous home runs and projected points in the next game.
TLDR: Franchy Cordero is still Franchy Cordero.
Today, I look at the five-game DraftKings slate from my usual perspective on how to get different in larger field tournaments.

Nick Lodolo, SP: $9,400 – There are plenty of red flags popping up on this matchup today, Lodolo’s high ownership, Trea Turner, J.T. Realmuto, and Great American Ball Park. Despite all of those, I still want to get Nick into my lineups today. He stands out as the best option.
Nick Martinez, SP: $7,400 – Nick Martinez is a pitcher that is standing out in the Razzball model a few points higher than some of the most used DFS models. Let’s use that to our advantage at a salary point against a Brewers team on a cool night in San Diego.
Tyler Stephenson, C: $4,200 – If you want to stack the Reds today, including a high-priced catcher batting fourth is a great option. There are some other high-priced catchers that will find themselves used more often than Tyler or other people will pay down at the position.
Anthony Rizzo, 1B: $4,700 – Joe Ryan has looked good this year, but I never want to fade Rizzo hitting at home to the short porch. Depending on who is healthy and in the lineup, I want to build some Yankee stacks as part of my portfolio.
Edouard Julien, 2B: $2,000 – I mostly just want to celebrate the call up here. He made some exciting moments in the World Baseball Classic, and he’s picked up a ton of hype from the dynasty community. He will likely hit late in the lineup today, but he’s minimum salary and makes a fine punt play.
Spencer Steer, 3B: $3,000 – Spencer Steer on the other hand is the exact kind of punt play I want to avoid on most occasions. He’s fine in a Reds stack against an often Faltering Bailey, but if you’re using him as a salary saver in a tournament lineup, you’re going to be exposing yourself to a high-owned play who doesn’t project much better than a similar guy like Nick Maton.
Juan Soto, OF: $5,600 – As of this writing, the Brewer’s starting pitcher isn’t announced. It doesn’t really matter if it’s Ethan Small or Bryce Wilson. Juan is going to be a great option to anchor a late-night hammer Padres stack against either.
Akil Baddoo/Kerry Carpenter/Riley Greene, OF: $2,800/$2,900/$3,600 – Chris Bassitt hasn’t looked fully put together yet this season. People are already streaming pitching against the Tigers, and Bassitt’s projection today won’t change their minds. Tiger’s bats in a mini stack are a way to get different, and you should target the simple platoon split hitters like these left-handed hitting outfielders.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
Warm days in a few places, but nothing to worry about in the form of wind and precipitation.
Doing Lines In Vegas
Nothing stands out to me as a great bet. If you want to have some fun, find the best +200ish money line on Detroit for a small bet in hope that Bassitt is still struggling.
