Noah Syndergaard is today’s most expensive player in DraftKings, and deservedly so. He has 100 strikeouts in 94 innings pitched, with a 5/1 K/BB rate, and has been very good overall this season. Of today’s pitchers, he has the best WHIP of 1.06 among qualifiers. The Mets are on the road in Tampa Bay, and you couldn’t ask for a better matchup. The Rays are 28th in the league in batting average and 23rd in home runs against right-handed pitchers. However, they are 10th in the league in strikeouts against RHP’s, but perhaps that is because they haven’t faced Thor. The Mets have put a lot of trust in their young pitchers and its paid off. They are no longer in a race for the first pick in the draft, as they are 2.5 games up on the Nationals in the NL East. Keep on reading and check out some of my other DraftKings picks.

Francisco Liriano, SP: $10,900 – The third priciest player has very good overall stats this season. He burns me every time I play him, but that doesn’t mean he will burn you. I like the matchup at home against the Dodgers.
Tyson Ross, SP: $10,600 – I like Ross and the matchup against the Phillies at home, but I don’t like the price. His WHIP is a little high for my taste, and has only had three quality starts in his last six games. This could be a trap.
Trevor Bauer, SP: $9,800 – There’s a small chance Bauer could be my second pitcher today. He’s been up and down this season. He last faced the Twins in May and went five innings with five strikeouts and five earned runs. But do you ever get one of those gut feelings? If my gut starts rumbling in the afternoon I’ll let you know.
Brian McCann, C: $3,600 – McCann has faced David Price 16 times in his career. Nine of those at-bats have been hits, and three of those nine have been home runs. If he’s in the lineup today, he’s a good inexpensive option for a scarce DFS position.
Kyle Schwarber, C: Doesn’t matter, but$4,100 – Play him while you still can. He’ll be just as expensive as Buster Posey very soon. The Cubs rookie phenom is just one of the best overall hitters in the league. I know that is a bold statement to say in just a short period at the MLB level, but Schwarber has been great in college and dominated MiLB hitting. If I’m not strategizing the catcher position, Schwarber is a shoe-in my DFS lineups from here on out.
Chris Davis, 1B, $4,200 – Crush is, who I didn’t think he’d be. He’s hammering the ball of late, and at this price, go with the hot bat.
Eric Hosmer, 1B: $4,300 – The quiet solid season continues for Eric Hosmer. He continues to hit well and lately he’s been scoring a lot of runs. The power number wont be there, but this a good price against a struggling shark.
Matt Duffy, 2B/3B: $4,000 – It’s no longer a secret, Matt Duffy is good! His DraftKings price is steadily increasing, but he is a solid source of DFS points. He only has nine homers on the season but he’s putting up numbers in every category and most importantly for DraftKings sake, he’s hitting very well.
Howie Kendrick, 2B: $3,700 – He’s a Matt Duffy in disguise. Not sure why Kendrick is $300 cheaper but it could be because Kendrick is the quiet vet who just keeps it up without making much noise. His numbers are very similar to Duffy’s.
Josh Donaldson, 3B: $6,100 – He’s the most expensive hitter today, and the hottest hitter in baseball. The power numbers are great. One swing of the bat will give you double digit DFS points. He’ll definitely be in my lineup.
Carlos Correa, SS: $5,200 – Like Schwarber, this rookie phenom has been in my lineup for the past week. His talent is amazing and he’s already one of the funnest players to watch play. This once in a decade type player is worth every penny today.
Jacoby Ellsbury, OF: $4,100 – Surprisingly Ellsbury has had success against against David Price in his career. The first thing that jumped in my head is the lefty vs lefty situation, but he’s career 18-51 with a homer against Price.
Nelson Cruz, OF: $5,400 – His five homer streak recently ended, but Cruz is a threat to hit the long ball against anyone, anywhere.
Michael Taylor, OF: $3,600 – Taylor has been hot of late. I fully expect him to stay in the bigs upon Denard Span’s return. Taylor is very young but very talented, and once he fills into that skinny frame, he’ll be very good. This is a great price for even your first OF today, because if you start a pricey pitcher, you won’t have the budget for the other pricey players above.
