With a couple weeks left to go here in the regular season, this will be my last SAGNOF Stolen Base article of the year. I hope you’ve enjoyed our weekly looks at stolen base targets here at Razzball, and I look forward to running it back with you in the spring.

It’s been a fun season. I finished sixth in Razzslam, and it was also fun in that league to chase the title with an old friend of mine who moved out of state a few years back. I turned him onto Razzball years ago, and now look at him…defeating all but one other entrant. Congrats to Robert Goldman for taking it down and Sean Knurek coming in second.

Another highlight for me on the season includes a mid-level finish in Perts league.  I have had way less time than normal to work on fantasy baseball, one of these years, when I am old and retired, I’ll be able to pay close enough attention to drop 500 moves in a season. Son “Dad” will likely get there, but the guy in first place, Kirksey has only made 24 moves all year. Just goes to show that a good draft and a little luck can take you all the way to the promised land.

Stolen base targets for the last two weeks are really just the “Speed Dials”. I didn’t see any major call ups outside of Sal Stewart and Daylen Lile I wanna try and roster for steals, and those two have been well discussed amongst these pages.

So thanks again to Grey, Rudy, and MattTruss for allowing me to be a part of the team, and I look forward to guiding you in some fantasy baseball prep in five short months!

Here’s the current Stolen Base Leader Board through Monday, September 15th

The Speed Dials

We went 0 for 4 to close out the Speed Dial predictions this week.  This puts us at 14 for 63 on the season. Still a better average than most catchers in MLB. What could your SB point total look like with 14 more bags on the books?

Remember, these are specific stolen base streaming targets for specific days where the player is owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues. All stats represent both the 2024 and 2025 seasons combined.

Rockies vs Marlins – Tuesday, September 16th

Tyler Freeman – He gets thrown out about a third of the time, but the Rockies don’t care at this point. He’s stolen 17 bases, and sprint speed is solid at 28.5 Ft/Sec. He just doesn’t get very good jumps. He will face our favorite team to run against the Marlins and Eury Perez. You’ll find all Marlins Catchers near the bottom of the throwing leaderboard, and Agustin Ramirez is dead last.

Marlins vs Rockies – Wednesday, September 17th

Otto Lopez – Flipping it around and targeting McCade Brown for the Rockies here. In limited action, he has allowed a .293 SB/IP ratio. Lopez still runs above average at 28.5 Ft/Sec and has 33 steals with a 76.7% conversion rate over the last two years.

Rockies vs Marlins – Thursday, September 18th

Tyler Freeman – Yes, I know I am going back to it again, but Marlins catchers are so bad, and Alcantara, while getting better, still has a .199 SB/IP. Freeman is gonna steal a base in one of these two games, and they’re in Coors, so you might as well just pick him up for the week if he’s available.

Tigers vs Braves – Friday, September 19th

Zach McKinstry – He runs at 28.2 Ft/Sec, but gets great reads and jumps, allowing him to convert 92.3% of his attempts. He’ll face Bryce Elder and the Braves on Friday. Elder allows .135 SB/IP and an 86.7% success rate against. Sean Murphy is great at cutting down runners, but Drake Baldwin can be had if he’s behind the plate.

That’s all, folks. Any other questions, hit me up here or on Twitter @TheGreatKnoche
