Unless I’m misunderstanding Easter and the greatest story ever told, there’s a strong indication that Hunter Brown is not Him. As I understand it, Jesus gets his boys blotto on his blood that’s wine — imagine going wine tasting and being like, “This wine tastes irony.” “Like it’s dramatically contrasted to the opposite of what’s […]

The opening week is always difficult, and that was definitely the case for my streamers. All of the results weren’t terrible, but I was disappointed with that opening article. That means I need to make some adjustments, but I’ve been doing that since I started playing fantasy baseball nearly 20 years ago. I feel really […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? The first week of the season is baseball’s favorite overreaction laboratory. A handful of games, a few loud swings, one well-timed call-up and suddenly the future feels like it is arriving all at once. This is where the Top 100 Hitter list starts to breathe. Because while veterans are still shaking off April timing and pitchers search for command, the kids do not want to wait. They have announced themselves with big-league at-bats that look like they have been doing this for years instead of days. JJ Wetherholt looks like a hitter who belongs in the middle of a lineup right now. The approach is calm, the barrel is on time, and the game slows down in a way you cannot fake. Kevin McGonigle has done what advanced hitters do with controlled at-bats, line drives to all fields, and the quiet confidence of someone who understands exactly who he is at the plate. Then there’s Chase DeLauter, whose early-season thunder feels less like a hot start and more like confirmation. The physicality, the leverage, the damage that can change a game. And just when the early season momentum was building, Konor Griffin arrived. This is what the first week is supposed to feel like. Not conclusions. Not final answers. Just flashes that hint at where the Top 100 is headed next. Because rankings in April aren’t about who’s finished climbing. They are about who just started running.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Razzball, we have finally made it to week 2! The theme of this week will be “In Skubal We Trust.” He is the best pitcher in baseball and has backed that up with matching .69 for ERA and WHIP to start the season. The only blemish can be the lack of run support shown by […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Konnor Griffin grabbed all the headlines Wednesday afternoon when news broke that his promotion was imminent and that Pittsburgh was deep into contract talks with the 19-year-old shortstop, who ended up signing for nine years and $140 million, beating Colt Emerson’s days-old record for a player who hadn’t debuted ($95 million) by a healthy margin but surrendering two years of free agency in comparison to the one that Emerson signed away. Tough to dislike this one for either side, I think. We’ve seen recently that these kinds of deals can be torn up and rewritten if both sides are happy with their situation. By which I mean the fear that a young player will get ripped off in this kind of transaction feels overblown. If he really does outperform the contract, he could probably get a healthy raise in exchange for another year of free agency, which is what you’d want to do anyway if you’re building a family and enjoying your life where you’re living it.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Man, that opening week on the waiver wire was insane. You can really rebuild the backend of your team in the opening weeks, and I can’t believe how much turnover there’s been so far. One thing we never discuss in terms of the waiver wire is who to drop. That’s pretty much up to you […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? These weekly Fact or Fiction posts are primarily to determine which trending players in the fantasy baseball universe are worth your time, or better left on the waiver wire. Most of the players covered will be rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo!/ESPN leagues at the time of each post. There is not enough space […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy weekend, Razzball faithful! No matter how excited you are for the long weekend, I bet I can find someone who was a heck of a lot happier yesterday… Ted is only four years younger than Konnor Griffin — Razzball (@razzball.bsky.social) 2026-04-03T16:39:39.317Z Ok, so I’ll admit this was supposed to be a video of Griffin […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Well, well, well, if it isn’t the first edition of Ambulance Chasers after Opening Day. *pretends to extinguish a candy cigarette while making a sizzling sound with my mouth* The IL has already been IL’ing. While some of the news this week is a little leaner than the last preseason article, don’t be fooled. As […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?My barber plucks a gray hair out. I explain, “That one I call ‘Jordan Walker 2024.’” Barber plucks out another gray hair. “That’s Jordan Walker 2025.” Barber points to a full gray beard. “Those are individual games. Jordan Walker game one, Jordan Walker game two, Jordan Walker–You get the point, you don’t need me to […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy Friday, everyone, and hope you all enjoyed the first week of the season. I have a few, let’s say, issues in some of my leagues. The slow starts are one thing (I think Josh Naylor still hasn’t gotten a hit as I’m typing this?), but there are too many guys who are a little […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? With the baseball season started and drafts and auctions completed, we now enter the season of “finding the hidden gem” or “next great young player.”
Some players are not hidden gems and are already the next great young player. Players in that category or players like Kevin McGonigle or JJ Wetherholt, but if you don’t know about them by now, then you aren’t paying any attention to players when it comes to dynasty baseball. I’ll go out on a limb here – they are studs. If you have one or both of these players, keep them unless an offer is made to you that is simply too good to pass up.
If you don’t have one of those two players, good luck getting them.
Then there are some players who are highly rated prospects but may not getting as much buzz as they should. One of those players, I feel, is Carson Benge of the New York Mets.
So let’s talk about the team’s rookie right fielder.
