Happy hump day everyone! I don’t like this slate from a pitching perspective. Aaron Nola is a stud but it’ll be 90+ degrees with humidity in a ballpark prone to homers. Miami may not great offensively but they don’t strike out much. Similar situation with Luis Garcia in Houston against Baltimore. Chris Bassitt has a decent matchup but I have a hard time paying $9,800 for someone who doesn’t offer up much in the way in strikeouts. Joe Musgrove is in Great American Smallpark on a hot, humid night as well. He’s only eclipsed the 40 pt. threshold once in his last 11 starts. I liked Cal Quantrill but with it now being a double header, the game has been removed from the slate. Steven Matz has a good matchup but he’ll be on a pitch count coming off the IL.

Today’s Main slate on FanDuel has plenty of enticing value targets at SP. Madison Bumgarner is tempting in his first start back in San Fran, but he’s coming off the IL and only got up to 70 pitches in his month long rehab. His opposite Trevor Cahill let us down last week, but he is facing Bumgarner’s Diamondbacks who have been struggling mightily at the plate. The best dice roll from this view, however, is Tony Gonsolin. Sure, he’s facing the Rockies, but he’s doing in Dodgers Stadium not Coors. The slumping Charlie Blackmon has posted a .339 average on the road, and Trevor Story is at .258. Everyone else in a varying levels of bad to terrible on the road. Meanwhile the Dodgers continue to bounce Gonsolin around between the big club and the alternate training site, yet he’s put up a 0.51 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and around 9 K/9. So grab Tony Gonsolin ($7,600) at a massive discount and run. Now on to the rest of the picks.

Another week, another CBS auction, not that I’m complaining. Love draft season and auctions are the best way to pick a team. If you have been putting off joining an auction, don’t. Fast auction, slow auction, live auction, they are all phenomenal and gives you more choice over team construction than waiting around to see who falls to you in a snake draft.

That being said, this one was all over the place. You can find the full draft results with the CBS write up here.
