Top 50 Dynasty Shortstops for 2026 Fantasy Baseball

Hello, everyone. Welcome back to my weekly rankings. This week is the Top 50 Dynasty Shortstops for 2026.

When it comes to this position, it is full of young players with great upside or have already reached a high level of play while also featuring older players who can still be great players to have on your team.

Overall, if you need to boost your average or your on-base percentage, this is a group to hoard. Collectively, shortstops slashed .254/.317/.394, ranking first, second and fourth among all positions in those categories. The top end players will help you across the board. As you get beyond those players, you will still find shortstops who will help in at least one category, such has homers or steals or whatever you are looking for.

Happy New Year and Happy Holidays. I hope the holiday season has been one of joy and happiness for you.

That said, welcome to the first installment of the Top 400 Dynasty Players for 2025. This week and next I will take two giant bites out of the countdown as I rank the players from 400-301 this week and then 300-201 the following week. After that will come bite sized looks of the final 200 players.

I know for a fact that some of you will not like my rankings. But I have my biases and certain ways I evaluate fantasy players and have done so for decades. So take these rankings as a starting point and adjust as you see fit. No matter what, I hope these rankings will be a useful tool for you.

Secondly, you will not see any prospects in my rankings unless they have debuted in the majors. So you will not see Anthony Quinn ranked, nor Owen Cassie or a host of other top prospects. I also did not rank Kumar Rocker as 11.2 innings of work on the MLB level barely counts. But if you are wondering, I really like him as I traded for him in two leagues earlier this offseason.

Top 50 Dynasty Keepers for 2025 – Third Basemen

Welcome back to another installment of Top Dynasty Keepers for 2025. We have made our trip around the infield as we highlight the third basemen this week.

This is an interesting position. There is some solid depth as you can land a good starter from the Tier 2 group or even Tier 3 if one of those players has a breakout year. But the top talent skews toward the older side as six of my top 20 players are 31 years old or older.

There are some solid players who are in their 20s, but there is no Bobby Witt Jr. or Gunnar Henderson in this group.

Overall, it is a position with one great player, a lot of above average players and then a gaggle of players who have the potential to be above average but are not there yet.
