Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! And Happy Easter Monday!  And…well… I hope that the Easter bunny was good to everyone. I also hope anyone celebrating that other holiday yesterday got their fair share of green eggs with their Easter ham. As a quick heads up, I’ve got the Top 100 Starting Pitchers for you today, AND […]

Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! We’re officially halfway through April this week! We’ve got the excitement of surprising starts, the giddiness of percolating breakouts, and, of course, the reality that is starting pitcher injuries. Because, of course, there are injuries. So many Eflin injuries. We hear it every Spring. “I can’t believe how many of my […]

Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! Last week we looked at MacKenzie Gore’s impressive line of 6 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 ER, 13 Ks and wondered if his man-handling of a potent Phillies lineup was a sign of things to come. I moved “Big MacK”, up our Top 100 Starting Pitchers list last week, but […]

Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! What A Gore-geous Opening Week! It’s been chilly in these parts for the past few days, but having baseball back is enough to melt even the frostiest of hearts. Guardians 2B Juan Brito lost out in his bid for the second base job despite going five for his last ten at bats with zero strikeouts and two home runs. Tyler Freeman has been electric this spring, and though he’s been playing outfield this year after coming up as an infielder, he could probably slide back to the dirt if that’s his path to playing time. Gabriel Arias continues to exist and might be the opening day starter. I have never seen what Cleveland sees in him, but that’s irrelevant. Perhaps Cleveland will recall Brito at the first signs of distress at the keystone, but I’m not encouraged right now.

UPDATE: Freeman has been traded to Colorado for Nolan Jones.  Unclear if this means anything to Brito’s chances, or if the Guardians are simply pursuing their quest to get Gabriel Arias as much playing time as possible.
