No matter how bad the Red Sox farm system is it will always have a place in this Prospector’s Heart. Despite his best efforts, David Dombrowski has not stripped the joy out of Red Sox prospects just yet, and to celebrate this I’ve brought along not only my brother from another Lance Brozdowski, but also “boots on the ground, eyes at the park” prospector John Calvagno of @SallyNotes on twitter, and NotesfromtheSally.com. Before John, Lance, and I dig in on the Sawx. I wax poetic about my days as a young man running amok at McCoy Staduim. We then dive into the big names (Michael Chavis, Jay Groome, Bryan Mata, Tanner Houck) and then move onto the plethora of future middle relievers, and utility bats. It’s a labor of love, but we managed to give you an hour and a half of Red Sox Prospects takes.

    Ralph: What can you tell me about 3b Sherten Apostel,.I just saw a video of him and he looks like the next Gabriel Arias. He can rake and seem to a good glove at 3b with very strong arm.

    where can I read more about him?

      @Jose: He’s kind of in the Tatis mood but not as athletic. Big kid, mashed he ball, improved his plate discipline tremendously year over year. Probably a first base/left field profile if his defense does not improve. He has a gun so there’s some chance he sticks at the hot corner. He can mash though.

        where can I read more about him? Eric Longenhagen mention him on his chat, saying he was writing about him over breakfast, but I have not seen anything.

    @Lance:

    Thanks Lance, I had seen that article and was impresed by this kid also:

    Samuel Inoa, C (DSL Pirates): Inoa — and the next guy, Sherten Apostel — signed the same year as Sanchez. Inoa got $240,000, which was the third largest bonus the Pirates gave out. He’s a short, stocky catcher who projects to stay at the position. He hit very little his first year, with a .593 OPS, and didn’t catch a great deal, partly due to injuries and partly due to the presence of Gabriel Brito, another catching prospect. This year he’s got an OPS of .921, with the same number of walks as strikeouts. He’s cooled off some lately, possibly in part due to a recurring hand injury that’s kept him out the last couple weeks.

    This kid is to good a hitter to be turn into a P, Here is a small video i found:

    Hay Ralph love your dynasty stuff. I have a dynasty question but it is about some major leaguers. Hope thats ok in this comment section. What do you think about Chris Owings this year and going forward. I love his potential versitility (in fantasy) is he a good clue guy for a dynasty team this year and going forward ? I think about trading for him.

      @Saints: As long as he’s healthy he has some potential. I wonder what the D-Backs do with him. Wild rice shock me if he’s the 2B with Marte at SS going forward. Owings is a good style do okayer for roto if he can build on his 2017.
