Welcome to the only baseball podcast that will drop the day after Game Seven of the World Series that will not be talking about Game Seven of the World Series. Well, that’s actually not 100% true. We do talk about how we won’t be talking about it. It’s prospects 24/7 around these parts. Ralph Lifshitz and I continue our top 100 series on today’s podcast, analyzing prospects who fall in the 21-50 range. We discuss our level of concern over the less than enthusiastic scouting reports Kevin Maitan has been receiving, if Kyle Lewis’ continued knee problems have him dropping, and if Harrison Bader will be able to carve out a role in St. Louis’ crowded outfield. On the plus side, we gush over Anthony Alford’s power/speed combo, hype up what Luiz Gohara is capable of, and predict big things for Christin Stewart in the Majors during the 2nd half. We talk about everybody from Forrest Whitley, Austin Meadows, MacKenzie Gore, Hunter Greene, and Jordon Adell, to Tyler O’Neill, Mitch Keller, Jahmai Jones, Michel Baez, and many more. Finally, please make sure to support our sponsor by heading over to RotoWear.com and entering promo code “SAGNOF” for 15% off the highest quality t-shirts in the fantasy sports game. It’s the latest edition of the Razzball Fantasy Baseball Prospect Podcast:

I think I remember Grey predicting about 2 months ago that the Astros would win the World Series against the Dodgers in 7 games.

@Grey: Didn’t everyone say that? That’s like picking all #1 seeds in the NCAA bracket.

Alex Wood not starting game 7 cost the Dodgers the World Series. **Hot Take** If the Dodgers don’t re-sign Darvish it was a bad trade.

You’re like my father, always withholding compliments… The Dodgers were losing in September, and Indians were straight fire… I could’ve said Nats/Indians — Throw love Grey’s way!

Not sure how to avoid Darvish, but if Kershaw can pitch in the third, he could’ve pitched in the 1st…

@Grey: You start Alex Wood, the best Dodgers starter in the series. Performance should have been the determining factor, but Yu started because of the trade and subsequent Gurriel taunt.

You really think b/c of the trade? I don’t know, maybe… I think they were hoping for Yu of his previous 5 years vs. of the previous game… But I can’t disagree that hindsight is screaming Yu wasn’t right (not you)…

              • Ralph Lifshitz

                Alex Wood says:
                (link)

@Grey: His front side has been flying open for the entire time he’s been with the Dodgers. He hasn’t really pitched well. He beat up a lot of weaker lineups in his good starts. The Cubs are the only good team he had a quality start against.

Regardless, Wood out-pitched him this year.

That’s fair, something definitely has been off with Darvish… If Kershaw could come in the 3rd tho, I say start him, and let them figure it out after Kershaw’s burned out…

                  @Alex Wood:

Astros lineup crushed lefties though and that Springer-Bregman, Altuve, Correa, Gurriel, Gattis Row were a Lefty Murderer’s Row. Except for Game 4. :)

    Good stuff Halp, thanks!

Who has more upside, Gohara or Whitley? Thanks.

@David: Thanks. I think they both have ace upside, but I’ll go Whitley.

  3. @Grey: So what is your take on Halloween mischief?

    • Grey

      Grey says:

      Eggs throwing and general shenanigans?

      • @Grey: Yea, apparently kids today do not partake in any form of Halloween mischief. I am appreciative that Prospect Jesus’ brought this epidemic up on the pod, although doesn’t seem like Halp is too supportive of the Make Halloween Mischievous Again movement. I am fearful my children will never get to experience the rush of eggs, toilet paper and shaving cream unless there is a revival.

Guys, 3B Austin Riley has caught fire in the AFL and I think he stock is raising. I am going to try and pick him up to replace David Wright, who I lost a couple year a go. I trade for Todd Frazier to replace him and that was a disaster. He got traded to the AL and became a .220 hitter two strikes against him.
I had being following Riley and Erceg and I think I found my answer. Am i leaning the right way? I would like to hear from both of you guys.

    • Halp

      Halp says:

@Jose: Yea, I would take Riley over Erceg right now. Had Riley ranked over Erceg from the get go, but Riley has continued to raise his stock with getting his body into better baseball shape. I’m not giving up on Erceg due to the down year though.

    Podcast feedback

Love the work guys. love it. giving examples of who you would trade for certain prospects is GOLD (ie Bruce for Meadows). please do more of that throughout the year as that is very helpful in understanding current value aka how to fleece other owners

also, in all podcast, please use player names more (you too Grey – please, sir, FML). it’s hard to rewind a few second or find exactly who you are talking about especially when listening while driving

thanks again, love the work. look forward to all prospects.

    re: dodgers
Starting Yu vs Wood, whatever, but after seeing a few pitches from Yu, he should have been yanked early. That’s my biggest issue. ridiculously frustrating game to watch as a dodger fan. i went from not sober to sober after the second inning

@Member Berries: Thanks, Member Berries. And thanks for the feedback. You are definitely right about the player name thing and I’ll try to get into the habit of repeating the name instead of using “he.”

And I love talking about the Dynasty stuff too. Will definitely keep working that in.
