The Baltimore Orioles made a huge stride in bolstering their starting pitching staff Friday trading for Rays starter Zach Eflin. About Eflin time! Eflin has struggled with consistency all season long with an unsightly 4.09 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and underwhelming 87/13 K/BB, but there have been flashes of the pitcher we saw in 2023 (3.50 […]

Hello there Razzball Fam! It was only a year ago that Jarred Kelenic did a dance with a water cooler and lost. You might say he….lost his cool. Just a few days after the one year anniversary of Kelenic’s Cooler Dance, Oakland’s Mason Miller became the most recent loser in a battle with an inanimate […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Pat Murphy, the Brewers’ manager and the head of the MLB’s Irish-American Anti-Defamation League, Take A Walk After BB (Beaucoup Beverages) is on the phone with his chapter, “Hey, Seamus, I’d like to send this new Giants’ kid, Tyler Fitzgerald, a personal greeting from Colm Meaney and Brendan Gleeson dressed as leprechauns to welcome him […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Greetings friends and readers, hope you are enjoying your summer both in real life and in the fantasy baseball realm. I honestly wasn’t expecting there to be so little trade news or even rumblings with less than a week to go before the deadline, but I suppose with the new playoff rules and the relative […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? There’s never been more data for anything at our fingertips than what there is for us right now. Between this preponderance of data and the increasing competence of machine learning, there’s nothing we feel we can’t predict. Take the weather, for instance. While it’s an easy joke to fall back on that it’s just a […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Dylan Cease (9 IP, 0 ER, 0 hits, 3 walks, 9 Ks, ERA at 3.50) throws a dandy, but you know what else? Dylan Cease is a dandy! Not the 1954 through present-day definition! I don’t know if he dandies like that. I’m saying he’s a dandy like the 1776 through 1953. During 1953 to […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? That is both terrible and uplifting at the same time. You’re a liar if you say you didn’t crack a smile and pump a fist or two. Unlike Vanilla Ice and Milli Vanilli, Jose Iglesias of the New York Mets is not a one-hit wonder. He has 36 this season and 1,087 in his 12-year […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? What is up party people? Who is the hottest bat in the majors right now and why is it Tyler Fitzgerald? Fitz may be the only guy hotter than Lawrence Butler (more on him later) right now with his home run binge. If he gets the chance to play everyday, and let’s be honest the Giants should run him out there to see what he can do, there might be more than just a hot streak here. Both power and speed were on display in the minors along with a fairly solid average with more strikeouts than you would like. He has defensive versatility and has seen time all over the field. He’s even taken the mound in three games but with no strikeouts and a 9.00 ERA you wouldn’t want to put him in your lineup there. The ability to play all over the diamond should help him get in the lineup and at least opens up the possibility that he could add to his shortstop and outfield eligibility at some point. Eligibility isn’t everything but it would add to his value, particularly in leagues with short benches.
Please, blog, may I have some more?In our 53rd episode, Mike Couillard and Jeremy Brewer open by discussing the latest and greatest transactions and moves including a injuries to Ozzie Albies, Bo Bichette, and Max Fried along with the epic collapse of the Seattle Mariners. Then we analyze players and playing time situations that could be changing around the July 30 trade deadline […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? So, this is a little unrelated to fantasy — don’t worry, we’ll get to stuff that is 100% unrelated in a second — but here’s the setup, Cal Quantrill (6 IP, 2 ER, 8 baserunners, 3 Ks, ERA at 4.09) threw a good pitch to get Reese McGuire to pop-up and celebrated on the mound. […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? This week marks the beginning of a bottleneck on the minor league baseball calendar.
The Arizona and Florida Complex Leagues will finish their regular seasons on Thursday before a brief playoffs. After the postseason, some of these players will head to a practice facility after a 50-game season. Some will get promoted to Low-A to continue their development via in-game repetitions. You can probably guess which outcome most players would prefer. It’d be a long off-season if you weren’t going to play an actual game again for about seven months.
Please, blog, may I have some more? It’s time for post All-Star Break SAGNOF Razzjiblets. I hope you are ready for a fun and exciting stretch run in fantasy baseball and that your teams are all doing better than mine are. I missed the cutline in Razzslam thanks to an awful week 16 performance. In RCLs my best position is 10th. Other […]
