“Plug and play. That’s what I say about George Kirby. You plug him in and he plays. Like an Energizer Bunny. There’s no quit there.” This is a tone deaf man explaining George Kirby (3 2/3 IP, 6 ER, ERA at 3.42) while an Energizer Bunny goes back and forth over a grave with a […]

Please, blog, may I have some more?Time’s up! Pencils down! Trade deadline is over. We enter into the 20s for weekly recaps and we have seven weeks to go in the Razzball Commenter Leagues. As a group we made 113 trades, that’s down thirty from last season. Those 113 trades involved 302 players, 187 of them unique. Want to guess the […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Tuesdays slate on DraftKings is something of an underwhelming mess. It’s underwhelming because the pitching choices are few and far between and highlight some guys whose recent performance has generated some pretty loud vitriol on Twitter amongst fans. The slate is a bit of a mess because stacks are so obvious yet so plentiful that […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?On this week’s Razzball Fantasy Baseball Podcast, Grey and B_don talk about a couple of call-ups in Jordan Walker and Zebby Matthews. Is Grey running to the wire to add these youngsters? It was the week of Jackson as Chourio, Merrill, and Holliday all had impressive weeks and we discussed their production for the rest […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Junior Caminero was called up. Here’s what I said last year when he was called up: “Vroom, vroom, get in my Caminero!” A guy who is wearing an 18-karat, Italian horn around his neck going over the Brooklyn Bridge. vs. “Vroom, vroom, get in on Junior Caminero!” A guy pushing the glasses back off the bridge […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Happy Monday, Razzball faithful! A pre-emptive apology for this week, and as the resident Canadian here I assume the “Sorry” is a bit of a stereotypical expectation. I took the kiddos out west this week to visit an old friend for his 50th birthday, and after a few days of surfing and fishing in the […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Byron Buxton (2-for-4, 3 RBIs and his 15th and 16th homer, hitting .278) went from one of the most exciting players in baseball who couldn’t stay healthy to one of the most boring players who is staying on the field. It must’ve been like, “Hey, I can give you 110%, if percentages went over 100%, […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Hey there, good readers. You may have noticed there was no Cookie Shop last week. I apologize for that, but I was finishing off a long-distance drive returning home at the end of a family vacation, so it simply wasn’t in the cards. But we’re back now and ready for the run-in to finish off […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? We’re hitting our stride coming into the home stretch, like Cole Hocker trying to win the 1500-meter race. Putting the pressure on the rest of the field, Bobby Witt Jr. is doing his best to make the American League MVP race respectable. Hitting a cool .430 with seven homers and a combined 47 runs and RBIs over the last 30 days, he has us questioning everything about who should be the number one hitter for the rest of the season. As Witt shakes up the top of the order for our list this week, Jackson Holliday is also making up for lost time in Baltimore. Holliday burst onto the scene launching homers in three straight games to announce his arrival. How far up does the youngster climb the rest of the season? Stay tuned to find out in this weekend’s edition of the Top 100 Hitters for the 2024 fantasy baseball season.
Please, blog, may I have some more?Last week was full of mixed results, and one thing has become abundantly clear. The pitching atmosphere that we saw in the early months has disappeared in the Summer, with the offenses taking command in the second half. That’s shown in some of my results recently, but I feel great about this week’s streamers. With […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Dodgers RHP Edgardo Henriquez (21, AAA) missed last season due to Tommy John surgery but has recovered his easy-plus pitch mix and cruised through four levels already this season, recording 70 strikeouts in 41.1 innings along the way. Now he’s just one step away from joining an L.A. bullpen that could use an infusion of youth.
