Last week was my best article of the year. All of our streamers performed well, and we might’ve stumbled into a few must-roster players along the way. That’s our real goal when writing these articles because it’s key to landing some waiver wire gems throughout the season. Some of my best pickups every year are streamers that just stay on my roster after a solid week. It doesn’t always work like that, but we just hope that’s the natural progression along the way. With that in mind, let’s look at next week’s favorable team matchups and then dive into those streamers!
Favorable Team Matchups
7 Games
Boston Red Sox (vs. CWS, vs. SEA, at CLE)
Chicago White Sox (at BOS, at MIN, at ATH)
6 Games
Athletics (vs. TEX, vs. CWS)
Cincinnati Reds (at MIA, at COL)
Cleveland Guardians (vs. NYY, vs. BOS)
Colorado Rockies (at KC, vs. CIN)
Kansas City Royals (vs. COL, vs. HOU)
Minnesota Twins (vs. CWS, vs. LAA)
Seattle Mariners (at BOS, vs. MIA)
Pitching Streamers
Jose Soriano, LAA (vs. PIT)
Soriano was quietly LA’s best pitcher last year, and he’s carried that form into a solid start to this season. The righty had a 3.05 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across his final 14 starts last season while providing a 3.16 ERA and 1.25 WHIP so far this year. That makes it hard to believe that he’s still so widely available, especially since many of those starts have been against tough offenses. Pittsburgh is far from that, with the Pirates ranked 25th in runs scored, 27th in OBP, and 28th in xwOBA. There aren’t many streamers that hit perfectly on the matchup and form, but Soriano is one of them.
Streamonator Valuation: $36.1
Andrew Heaney, PIT (at LAA)
Heaney has been a frustrating pitcher to trust at times, but he’s also showcased some elite ability throughout his career. This lefty was once one of the top prospects in LA and Miami’s organizations, mixing sensational and subpar seasons since then. Something has changed over the last four years, though, with Heaney posting a 3.96 ERA and 1.26 WHIP since 2022. He’s also off to an incredible start this year, generating a 2.13 ERA, 2.73 FIP, and 0.91 WHIP. That’s one of the best starts in baseball, and he should be able to continue that success against the Angels. Los Angeles ranks 21st in K rate and 23rd in OBP, which is right on par with what we saw last year.
Streamonator Valuation: $-5.0
Max Meyer, MIA (vs. CIN)
Meyer is quickly going from one of our streamers to a must-roster player. This righty only made 13 career starts coming into the year, but has been fantastic through the opening three weeks. Meyer has only allowed seven runs through four starts, tallying a 2.63 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. That’s what fans have been waiting to see, and Meyer should benefit from pitching in Loan Depot Park because that’s one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in the sport. The best part about this is a matchup against Cincy, with the Reds ranked 26th in OBP, 27th in wOBA, 23rd in K rate, and 28th in xwOBA.
Streamonator Valuation: $6.0
David Festa, MIN (vs. CWS)
The Twins have been trying to fill the backend of their rotation, and it appears Festa is their guy. The righty has been pitching some abbreviated starts since his call-up, but he got up to 76 pitches in his most recent outing. That’s an encouraging sign because Festa has a 0.00 ERA and 1.11 WHIP through nine innings in his two starts this year. That’s less surprising when looking at his 3.54 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 29 percent K rate throughout the minors. Getting to face the White Sox’s woeful offense is the icing on the cake, with Chicago sitting last in runs scored, OBP, OPS, wOB,A and xwOBA since the start of last season.
Streamonator Valuation: $11
Jeffrey Springs/Osvaldo Bido/Luis Severino, ATH (vs. CWS)
We actually went off the rails and recommended three streamers from the A’s last week, but we’re going right back to the well. A matchup with Chicago will make us do strange things like that, but you could honestly start any pitcher against them all season and do well. They’ll never be projected to score more than four runs in any game, and that’s what we’ve seen over the last two seasons.
Let’s kickstart these streamers with Springs. He’s the A’s best starter, sporting a 2.78 ERA and 1.10 WHIP since 2021. Bido was the A’s best pitcher in the second half of last season, generating a 2.91 ERA and 1.01 WHIP after July 1. He also allowed one run across 5.2 innings as one of our streamers in a matchup with the White Sox last week! Severino has a 4.01 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in a solid start to the season, after posting a 3.91 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in a bounceback 2024 season.
Streamonator Valuation: $28.4/$10.2/$34.4
Hitting Streamers
TJ Freidl, CIN (at MIA, at COL)
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I believe Freidl should be rostered in every league. This is the leadoff hitter for a lineup with a ton of talent, and Friedl has been a 25-25 threat throughout his career. Injuries have kept him from reaching those standards, but he had 18 homers and 27 steals across 138 games just two years ago. We love that when examining his recent form, posting a .296 AVG and .355 OBP over the last seven outings. The best part about this is the matchups, though. Not only does he face a Rockies team that ranks last in ERA and WHIP since the start of last season, but he also squares off with a Marlins team that ranks 28th in both of those this year. We didn’t even mention that all six of his games are in two of the most hitter-friendly parks in the league!
Andrew Benintendi, CWS (at BOS, at MIN, at ATH)
Benintendi hasn’t been a fantasy-relevant option in years, but anyone can have a good week! It’s much more likely since he’s the three-hole hitter for one of the only teams that has a seven-game week. Hitting in the heart of any lineup is beneficial from a fantasy perspective, especially with how Benintendi is swinging the lumber right now. The outfielder has a .278 AVG and .861 OPS so far this season. Most of his matchups this week are against right-handers, which bodes well since Benintendi has a .375 OBP and .965 OPS against them this year. This is far from an exciting option, but there aren’t many better hitting streamers in this limited week.
SAGNOF (Saves/Steals Ain’t Got No Face)
Steals Specialists
Luisangel Acuna (NYM)
Luisangel might not be as good as his brother, but he is still one of the fastest players in baseball. The second baseman has developed into an everyday player for the Mets, recording four steals across his last six starts.
Jake Mangum (TB)
The Rays always develop players with speed, and Mangum is another. The outfielder had a five-game hitting streak last week, recording seven steals across his last 15 outings.
Saves Specialists
Tommy Kahnle (DET)
Kahnle picked up two saves over the last three days and is undoubtedly the best pitcher in this pen. He has four saves over his last six outings, generating a 1.29 ERA and 0.43 WHIP.
Dennis Santana (PIT)
Much like Kahnle, Santana is the best pitcher in Pittsburgh’s pen. That’s allowed him to take over in the absence of David Bednar, recording two saves over his last six appearances. That pairs wonderfully with his 2.00 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. Look out for Bednar returning this week, though. We’d still bet on Santana keeping this job for now.

Hi Bart,
Hope you had a relaxing well deserved weekend.
Some interesting names on the wire
Landen Roupp
Tobias Myers -Il
Note: Roupp’s next two starts are home vs Milwaukee and then at SD
In order to take Roupp or Myers, I would have to cut one or two of the following:
David Peterson
Wesneski
Max Myers
Casey Mize
Francis
Liberator
Shane McClalahan
Hold
Thanks again!!
Liberatore is the most droppable
Thanks!!!
I’ve got $4.5 million reasons that Bednar will get every opportunity to close for Pittsburgh (and then be dealt in July.)
Need to bench 3 of these guys this week. 10 tm H2H with QS, IP, Total Ks.
Hunter Brown: vs Tor, @ KC
Ragans: vs Col
Cease: vs TB
Strider: vs STL
Pfaadt: vs TB, vs Atl
Pivetta: @ Det
Gallen: vs Atl
Woo: @ Bos
Lodolo: @ Mia, @ Col
Thats really tough. Um,id probably say the final three but I wouldn’t want to bench any of them honestly.
H2H league, I’l be 3-1 after this week. Schmidt off the IL I have to drop a pitcher. We start 6 a week any combo of starters and relievers, I generally start 5 starters and a closer. My staff is King, Brown, Pivetta, Sale, Sonny, Rasmussen, Mahle, Schmidt, and Buehler with Helsley and Felix. Was gonna hang on to Buehler for his start tomorrow, and drop Felix, since I have yet to start 2 closers in a week, but Felix could be a weapon by the 2nd half. Based on performance, I’d cut Sale, but I can’t yet. So it’s Buehler . Points league wins get you 10 extra points, and he has 2, but he has not been sharp. He does have the White Sox tomorrow, and Cleveland, Schmidt also has 2 starts. I have a feeling Schmidt is gonna be more reliable than Buehler. What do you think? Thank you in advance. BTW it’s a weekly league, so I can’t just stream Buehler tomorrow and skip his 2nd start. This is more of a big picture move.
I don’t trust Buehler at all, but honestly, both of these guys will be droppable at some point.
Started off 0-3 in my league and thinking I need to start cut ties with my slow starters… Would you drop Casas & Helios Ramos to get Festa & Benintendi for this week?
Thanks!
No way
Yeah thats an overreaction. I wouldnt do that
For short and long term…would you go with Hays or Paven Smith?
Probably Smith. I think he could be a sneaky add
ROS 12 team dynasty Caleb Durban or Luke Keaschall…drop which one for Friedal…thank you!
Hate to say it, but I don’t do dynasty. Youre gonna have to ask someone else here.
