I want to take you guys behind the scenes before presenting you with this week’s streamers. My prep for this article is usually printing out next week’s schedule and then finding 5-10 streamers that I like. I always limit that down to a handful of extensive write-ups, but this week is different. My list this week consisted of 17 streamers that I liked for this week. I couldn’t believe it as I was doing it, but bizarre things always happen in the closing weeks of the season. With that in mind, I’m going to take a different approach with this article and give you guys small write-ups for these 17 pitchers. That should help you guys sort the ones you like in one of the most critical weeks of the season, so let’s look at the schedule and then dive into that laundry list of streamers.

Favorable Team Matchups

7 Games

Cleveland Guardians (vs. KC, vs. CWS)

Kansas City Royals (at CLE, at PHI)

Philadelphia Phillies (vs. NYM, vs. KC)

San Diego Padres (vs. CIN. vs. COL)

Seattle Mariners (vs. STL, vs. LAA)

6 Games

Athletics (vs. BOS, vs. CIN)

Boston Red Sox (at ATH, vs. NYY)

Los Angeles Dodgers (vs. COL, at SF)

Minnesota Twins (at LAA, vs. ARI)

Pittsburgh Pirates (at BAL, at WAS)

Pitching Streamers

Kyle Bradish/Tyler Wells, BAL (vs. PIT)

Let’s kickstart our streamers with a pair of Orioles. Bradish is sitting on way too many waiver wires since his activation off the IL, posting a 2.85 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 28 percent K rate since 2023. Wells is also a newly-instated player off the IL, totaling a 4.05 career ERA and 1.04 WHIP. These two have also been better in Baltimore, and that’s bad news for the Pirates. Pittsburgh ranks 29th or 30th in runs scored, wOBA and OPS, with Bradish also getting a matchup with the White Sox at the end of the week.

Streamonator Valuation: $30.1/$18

Slade Cecconi/Parker Messick, CLE (vs. CWS)

A couple of Guardians in a home matchup with the White Sox is the next set of streamers. Cecconi has been around longer than Messick, collecting a 3.72 ERA and 1.19 WHIP through his first 19 starts before struggling over the last month. We’re not so worried about that since these two face the White Sox, with Chicago sitting 27th in OBP, 28th in wOBA and 26th in runs scored. Messick shouldn’t have any issues against them, maintaining a 2.08 ERA through his first three starts.

Streamonator Valuation: $19.1/$11.4

Jose Soriano, LAA (vs. MIN)

Soriano might be my favorite option of these streamers. This righty has allowed two runs or fewer in eight of his last 12 starts while going scoreless in three of his last five fixtures. Soriano also has a 1.85 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 9.5 K/9 rate in that span before getting blown up on Friday, while facing one of the weakest lineups in baseball here. Not only did Minnesota trade most of its lineup at the deadline, but it also ranks 21st in OBP, 25th in runs scored and 22nd in xwOBA.

Streamonator Valuation: $22.3

Emmet Sheehan, LAD (vs. COL)

It wouldn’t be a streamer’s article without someone facing the Rockies on the road. Colorado ranks 29th in K rate, xwOBA and runs scored while posting even worse numbers on the road. That’s why the Dodgers have been laying the wood on them for years, with Sheehan likely entering this matchup as a -300 favorite. This young righty has a 3.16 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 11.2 K/9 rate across his last six starts.

Streamonator Valuation: $55

Ryan Weathers, MIA (vs. WAS)

Weathers has only made five starts this year and 21 since the start of last season, but he’s been dominant when healthy. The lefty has a 3.56 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in that span while totaling a 3.28 ERA and 1.05 WHIP this year. That sort of form should be easy to duplicate in one of the best pitchers’ parks in baseball, especially against a team like Washington. The Nationals rank 24th in OBP, wOBA and runs scored.

Streamonator Valuation: $NA

Zebby Matthews, MIN (at LAA)

The numbers from Matthews are nothing special, but his strikeout stuff in this matchup might lead to double-digit Ks. Zebby has a 10.4 K/9 rate this year while amassing a 3.89 ERA across his last eight starts. The best part is that he gets to face LA’s lackluster lineup, with the Angels ranked 28th in OBP and dead-last in K rate.

Streamonator Valuation: $19

Jonah Tong/Tylor Megill, NYM (vs. TEX)

Tong was one of the best pitchers across the lower levels this season, tallying a 1.61 ERA and 0.92 WHIP between Double-A and Triple-A. That form has carried over with the Mets, throwing five one-run innings in his debut. Megill is expected to be activated off the IL this week, allowing four runs or fewer in all 14 starts this season. He also has a 2.93 ERA in the pitcher-friendly Citi Field, with the Rangers missing Corey Seager and Marcus Semien. That’s why Texas sits 25th in OBP and 26th in wOBA.

Streamonator Valuation: $20.2/$NA

Ryan Bergert, KC (at CLE)

Bergert has quietly been a great find by the Royals, with the rookie registering a 2.61 ERA and 1.09 WHIP through 13 starts. He’s also allowed two runs or fewer in eight straight appearances while getting his pitch count close to 100 pitches. We love that sort of consistency against Cleveland because the Guardians rank dead-last in OBP, wOBA and xwOBA.

Streamonator Valuation: $-15.5

Quinn Priester, MIL (at TEX)

We already mentioned how tasty of a matchup Texas is right now with their studs missing, but Priester is a better option than Bergert. This Brewers breakout has an 12-2 record, thanks to his 3.25 ERA and 1.23 WHIP. That even includes one stinker against the Mets a month ago, but his 2.82 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 8.1 K/9 rate across his last 11 starts is sensational.

Streamonator Valuation: $-6.2

Mitch Keller, PIT (at WAS)

Keller has been a regular as one of our streamers for years, compiling a 4.22 ERA and 1.27 WHIP over the last three years. That’s nothing special, but it always makes him an intriguing option in a sexy matchup. We already talked about how woeful Washington’s offense has been, with Keller posting a quality start in three of his last four matchups with the Nationals.

Streamonator Valuation: $5.6

Bryce Miller, SEA (vs. LAA)

There’s a strange theme among these streamers because it feels like dozens of players are coming off the IL right now. Miller is one of them, providing a 2.94 ERA and 0.98 WHIP in a breakout campaign last year. He hasn’t had the same success this season, but we love Miller’s 3.11 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in Seattle over the last three years. He’s also had success against LA, going at least five scoreless innings in three of their last five matchups.

Streamonator Valuation: $36.2

Adrian Houser/Ian Seymour, TB (at CWS)

We’re winding down to the end of these streamers, so let’s get a pair of Rays in here. Houser was a sneaky acquisition by Tampa, tallying a 3.01 ERA and 1.29 WHIP this season. Seymour has been a shifty surprise since his call-up, generating a 1.29 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 13.5 K/9 rate across his last two starts. We mentioned Chicago’s subpar statistics in the Cecconi/Messick write-up, and both of these guys could be heavy favorites with the way the Rays are rolling right now.

Streamonator Valuation: $-9.6/$0.2

Cade Cavalli, WAS (at MIA, vs. PIT)

We had to cap off our streamers with a two-start guy. Cavalli was someone I rode last week against Miami, and we’re going right back to the well. Cavalli has a 2.96 ERA and 1.28 WHIP if you remove his one stinker in Yankee Stadium, but the matchups are the best part. We discussed how Pittsburgh might have the worst offense in baseball, but Miami has been right there with them over the last three years.

Streamonator Valuation: $14.7

Hitting Streamers

Trevor Larnach/Matt Wallner, MIN (at LAA, vs. ARI)

With so many pitching streamers, let’s offer up a pair of Twinkies we like for this week. The most impactful variable when talking about these Minnesota bats is that they’re projected to face six righties this week. That’s an optimal schedule for these lefty mashers because Larnach and Wallner always hit in the heart of the lineup against righties. That’s no surprise since Larnach has a .340 OBP and .781 OPS against righties this year, while Wallner has a .365 OBP and .897 OPS against them over the last three years. Wallner also has an .839 OPS across his last 11 games, while Larnach has a 1.143 OPS across his last six outings. These matchups don’t worry us either, with Arizona ranked 23rd in ERA and 24th in wOBA and LA sits 26th in ERA and 28th in wOBA

SAGNOF (Saves/Steals Ain’t Got No Face)

Steals Specialists

Jose Lowe (TB)

Lowe has 74 steals across 330 games over the last three years, while picking up 11 of them across his previous 31 games.

Isaac Collins (MIL)

Collins has been hitting second for Milwaukee recently, recording 16 steals across 330 at-bats this year. He also had 20-plus in each of his last four years at the minor league level.

Saves Specialists

Jose Ferrer (WAS)

Ferrer has established himself as the horse in Washington’s pen, posting a 0.00 ERA and 0.75 WHIP since August 5 while picking up five saves over his last seven appearances.

Jojo Romero (STL)

We thought the Cardinals might be going with a committee after the Ryan Helsley trade, but Romero has four saves over his last seven outings.

Hey Grey! Saw the buy/sell this week and I’m broken up about Seiya but not surprised. We start playoffs this week in a shallow 10-teamed and I’m wondering if he could be dropped for someone like Keaschall or another hot bat (Bleday, Wenceel, Lile)
