Welcome back DFSers, hopefully the shakes have stopped for you now that DFS baseball is back in full swing. Lucky for us, MLB has set up a sweet Saturday night schedule with 11 games going for the FanDuel Main Slate. It’s almost like a Friday night slate! With a plethora of options we have more chances to beat our competition tonight. One way I’m looking to do so is locking Matthew Boyd ($10,100) into my lineups tonight. I’ll be honest with you, I had a different intro written before pricing came out. I just assumed that Boyd was going to the highest priced pitcher on the slate given his performance so far and his opponent tonight. To my great surprise, he’s only the sixth highest priced pitcher. Can you say value? The Royals are bottom five in team OPS. Whenever I’m researching my lineups for the night I always take a peek at the team OPS standings. The Royals are also 12th in the league in team strikeouts, which is always nice to see when picking a starter. I love Boyd’s value tonight and wouldn’t be surprised with another double digit strikeout performance. Let’s take a look at some more picks for the evening slate.

Charlie Morton, SP: $11,500 – Like Boyd, Morton also gets the benefit of a bottom five team OPS opponent with the 11th most team strikeouts. It’s funny (not that funny) that hitters facing Baltimore pitching get the Coors effect and pitchers facing the Baltimore offense get the Petco effect. That will happen when you’re bottom of the league in team OPS. Morton will cost you, but should pay that price off.
Julio Teheran, SP: $8,000 – Honestly, pitching tonight is kinda “meh” for a larger slate. Sale gets the Dodgers, pass, Bauer gets the Twins, double pass, I’d feel OK with Nola, but the price isn’t wonderful, I’d rather go with Boyd. I’m feeling Boyd, Morton or diving deep. Teheran at least gets to pitch in Petco and the Braves should give him some run support. That’s a tepid recommendation at best huh?
Daniel Vogelbach, C/1B: $3,700 – The jelly donut of swat against the blah knight. This could get ugly for Harvey’s return from the DL.
Brandon Belt, C/1B: $3,300 – Belt gets the Miller Park boost tonight and gets to face Davies and his 4.37 FIP, which suggests a correction is coming to his 3.07 ERA.
Scooter Gennett, 2B: $3,300 – Oh yes, we have Coors tonight too. Scooter was scratched late with an illness last night so hopefully he’s good to go tonight. If not, Jose Peraza would be a cheaper fill-in here.
Dee Gordon, 2B: $2,600 – Yes, I’ll be stacking heavily against Matt Harvey tonight.
Eugenio Suarez, 3B: $4,000 – Suarez will be my top option at the hot corner tonight, but you could be priced out of him pretty easily.
Evan Longoria, 3B: $2,900 – It would appear my lineup will be filled with Coors Field, Miller Park and stacking against Matt Harvey plays tonight. I’m OK with that.
Xander Bogaerts, SS: $4,200 – It’s looking like you’ll be forced to pay up at SS tonight. Story would be the #1 option, but $4,500 can be tough to swallow. Xander saves a little and Stripling has had a rough go of it lately. Lindor and Turner wouldn’t be bad options either and I wouldn’t look to dip below the $3,600 mark.
Yasiel Puig, OF: $3,800 – No player has a higher ceiling tonight than Puig. Lock and load.
Austin Meadows, OF: $3,500 – As long as he’s not pooping himself anymore (seriously, go check out why he left last night’s game) he should be good to rock Asher Wojciechowski or whichever trash Baltimore throws out there tonight. Also, with a doubleheader today we’ve got to double check those lineups.
Raimel Tapia, OF: $3,100 – Maybe the cheapest and still decent Coors exposure you’ll find tonight. Tanner Roark gets lit up by lefties, so take note when lineups drop.
Mallex Smith, OF: $3,000 – Finally, we get a little more cheap Harvey exposure. Stack it up!
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
There are no weather concerns at all on tonight’s slate. Enjoy DFSers!
Doing Lines In Vegas
Goodness gracious, we have a 14 run over/under in Colorado tonight. That’s impressive. There are a lot of lines off the board right now but the biggest favorite as of right now is Chris Sale and the Red Sox at -170. Somewhat surprisingly, the game in Miller Park between the Giants and Brewers checks in at an 8.5 over/under. I’d bet the over there and hope my stack doesn’t fall flat.
