Lance McCullers (back) is back in action on Wednesday, making his first start since July as he comes off the disabled list. Starting a pitcher in their first outing back is always risky, but if McCullers is back on his game, he will be incredibly effective at a price of $7,600. It seems like he should be able to throw a full start, as he went five innings and 60 pitches in his last rehab outing. For a pitcher with a 10.05 K/9 and 2.94 FIP, a price this low feels insane. McCullers is a no-brainer in GPP formats.

Dinelson Lamet, SP: $8,400 – Since the All-Star break, Lamet has a 3.18 ERA and a 9.88 K/9. In his last outing, he struck out 10 Dodgers and allowed just one run in six innings. Lamet looks legit as hell and whenever he’s at home, he’s worth considering.
John Hicks, C: $2,100 – Hicks has actually been destroying in his major league experience this year, rocking a 143 wRC+, and just hit two homers last night. He’s filling in for Miguel Cabrera at first, so take advantage of this playing time as Hicks faces Jason Hammel.
Kendrys Morales, 1B: $3,100 – Morales has six homers in the last two weeks, and he’ll be trying for his third straight game with a dinger on Wednesday. That shouldn’t be tough, as he’s in Boston against Doug Fister.
Eduardo Nunez, 2B: $3,500 – You could easily run with a full Red Sox stack against Joe Biagini, who actually had an outstanding start last time out, but has been pretty awful outside of that. I’m not scared off by one outlier start against Baltimore, so give me Nunez out of the leadoff spot, along with a few other Red Sox bats.
Anthony Rendon, 3B: $3,700 – Rendon has an absurd 181 wRC+ against left-handed pitching this season, and he’s batting .321 with an .893 OPS in the last 15 days. His price is still depressed from the slump he went through, so take advantage while you can.
Didi Gregorius, SS: $3,400 – I feel safe using Didi knowing that the Red Sox aren’t around to steal any signs. Instead, Gregorius and the Yanks get to pound on Kevin Gausman in Baltimore. Good luck finding another cleanup hitter with this kind of opportunity for so cheap.
Josh Reddick, OF: $3,700 – It sure is tough getting Astros into my lineups, as they’re all so expensive. With Reddick, though, he’s just cheap enough to wedge in. Reddick has an insane .447 average in the last 15 days, and can rack up RBIs out of Houston’s five spot.
Yasiel Puig, OF: $3,100 – Puig is a hot hitter who has surprisingly stayed cheap on FanDuel. He’s got an .861 OPS in the last month, and also walked more times than he struck out in August. Puig has quitely been a fantasy catalyst with 24 homers and 13 steals.
Melky Cabrera, OF: $2,900 – The Melk Man is the world’s cheapest three-hitter (it’s in the Royals lineup, to be fair) at under 3k. But even Kansas City can put up some runs on Matt Boyd.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
We’ve got a few ugly looking forecasts on the east coast. NYY-BAL, TOR-BOS, and PHI-NYM all have a shot at getting rained out or delayed. Proceed with caution.
Doing Lines In Vegas
If you trust Lamet, the Padres at +102 can work out nicely for you (Or, adversely, if you don’t trust Jack Flaherty.) Also, Toronto at +150 against Doug Fister is looking good.
