I hope we got all that rain out of our system yesterday.  Trying to field a full lineup in season-long while constantly hitting refresh on the weather before DFS lineup lock is no fun.  I much prefer when we can just Ron Popeil those lineups and wait for the screen to turn green.  Our rainouts yesterday have caused a little havoc with tonight’s Main slate, leaving us with just five games, three aces and not a lot of options.  I’ll go over those aces in a bit and implore you to play them, but sometimes I like to get cute with a GPP lineup or two and Chris Flexen ($6,800) is just that, a cute option.  This is that dart throw you just hope hits and hope you’ve stacked the right bats when it does.  Flexen does have a couple things going for him, 11 strikeouts in 10 IP for one.  For two, he’s facing an Astros team that is short-staffed to say the least.  Thirdly, he’s at home.  It’s just enough to make me think some magic could happen here and it’s worth a couple darts.

Yu Darvish, SP: $9,900 – Not sure why Darvish is cheaper than Kershaw when Darvish is at home and they’ve got the same PPG so far, but I’m all for saving some cash.  It’s tough opponents all around, but I like Darvish to outscore Kershaw here.

Dane Dunning, SP: $8,000 – One more sorta-kinda cute option.  I think the world is going to be playing Darvish, Kershaw and Greinke tonight, but don’t sleep on Dane.  Dunning is at home in pitcher-friendly Texas and faces an Oriole team near the bottom in team OPS so far and who is striking out like it’s their job. It’s not fellas.

Jared Walsh, C/1B: $3,400 – It seems Walsh will get ABs after all, you can’t keep a good man down.  Matt Shoemaker seems washed and I like Walsh to clobber the cobbler.

Daniel Vogelbach, C/1B: $2,100 – The jelly donut of swat is who I’m really looking at rostering tonight though.  Trevor Cahill appears to be on the mound for the Pirates tonight.  I’ll be honest, I thought he was all done with baseball. For near the min price, you can’t beat Vogelbach in this match-up.

Nick Solak, 2B: $2,800 – I love Solak this year, the power-speed combo is legit and Bruce Zimmermann or Dean Kremer (or whoever the Os roll out there) is the opposite of legit…they are unlegit.

Dylan Moore, 2B: $2,300 – For a slightly cheaper option we have Dylan Moore who showed some fog on the mirror the other day.  Greinke is a tough match-up, but the price is right.

Manny Machado, 3B: $3,400 – Machado is our BvP special of the night.  With two HRs off Kershaw in 18 ABs, I’m sold.  Machado could be a bit contrarian tonight too.

Travis Shaw, 3B: $2,900 – If you’re stacking against Cahill, you have to get Shaw involved.

Fernando Tatis Jr., SS: $3,700 – I mean, sure, why not?  FTJ is basically Superman at this point, coming back from a season-ending injury in two weeks.  I’m convinced there’s nothing he can’t do, including hitting a homer off Kershaw.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa, SS: $3,000 – I’ll be honest, I didn’t think this guy was the real deal when he broke onto the scene, but I’ve changed my tune.  I’m sold and I’m only sad he doesn’t have catcher eligibility anymore.  Falefa should be leading off and in prime position to rack up the points.

Christian Yelich, OF: $4,100 – I don’t understand why Yelich hasn’t been placed on the IL yet, but I can only assume it’s not because the Brewer medical staff has lost their marbles.  I’m thinking he’s back soon, hopefully tonight against the human batting practice machine, Trevor Cahill.

Nelson Cruz, OF: $3,800 – Quintana seems completely lost on the mound so far and Nelson Cruz is just mashing.  I could see gambling on a little Twins stack tonight too.

Adolis Garcia, OF: $2,600 – One from the bargain bin, Garcia has been batting cleanup for the Rangers.  It’s really hard to turn down a clean-up hitter at this price.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

Mother nature appears to have gotten all the rain, snow and general bad weather out yesterday.

Doing Lines In Vegas

Dodgers @ Padres is, unsurprisingly, the lowest over/under on the night at 7.5 runs.  Twins @ Angels boasts the highest total at 9 runs and the game is a literal coin-flip with both teams at -105.  That’s pretty funny to me.  Vegas is just throwing their hands in the air, “These pitchers both stink, so good luck picking this one”.
