The last few times of written my DFS articles the pitching has been atrocious, as seems to be the norm this season.  Today however, we have an abundance of aces to choose from.  Picking which one will produce the best value is the tricky part.  Jacob deGrom ($11,100) is the most expensive options, but given his opponent, is the one most likely to win you your cash games and even keep you in your GPPs.  The Marlins continue to be a team I am targeting whenever I can and deGrom should have a field day with them.  Can we expect 7+ innings and double digit strikeouts?  I believe we can!  DeGrom is also only $300 more than Sonny Gray, which seems wild to me, but I’m plugging and playing deGrom today.

Jose Berrios, SP: $8,900 – I’m beginning to wonder if I severely over valued Berrios coming into this season, or if he’s just pulling a fast one me, starting slow and waiting for me to lose faith before turning it on.  For now, I’m sticking with him, especially at this price tag.  The Royals offense hasn’t been scary, and I’ll ride it out with Berrios one more time.

Spencer Turnbull, SP: $8,100 – If you are looking to pay down today, Turnbull is your guy.  With 14K’s in 11 innings and heading into Pittsburgh, this could be a nice return on investment allowing you to pay up for offense.

Rowdy Tellez, C/1B: $2,700 – Tellez has been hitting clean-up for the Jays and a clean-up hitter priced under 3K is insane value.  Nathan Eovladi in hitter-friendly Fenway only adds to the intrigue.

Cavan Biggio, 2B: $3,400 – I very much considered titling this post “Boston Tee Party” and spending my intro paragraph going over all the great plays in the Jays/Sawx game.  Instead, I’ll just touch on them down here.  This game is one of two with a 9.5 over/under (MIN@KC is the other) and I’m stacking accordingly.

Rafael Devers, 3B: $3,300 – Let’s grab a couple from the other side of this tilt.  Devers burned me again last night when I wrote him up, but I’m going back to the well and insisting he isn’t as bad as he’s been so far and will turn it around.  Maybe Shoemaker will help him “cobble” something together…see what I did there?

Trea Turner, SS: $3,200 – Asher Wojciechowski and his 5.40 ERA/5.60 FIP pose another excellent stacking opportunity.  The Nationals leadoff hitter for this price seems almost too good to be true.

J.D. Martinez, OF: $3,700 – Boston Tee Party.

Brett Gardner, OF: $2,600 – Our BvP play of the day, Gardner has collected three homers and .400 average off Charlie Morton over 22 PAs.

Alex Verdugo, OF: $2,600 – Check the lineup, but if Verdugo is leading off, he’s one of the best plays of the day.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

All clear for baseball!  However, as is typical of August, there is plenty of humidty to go around, which could make some balls leave the yard.

Doing Lines In Vegas

The Mets are the biggest favorites today at -250, honestly, I’m surprised that isn’t more like -300.  CIN@MIL has the lowest over/under today with a 7 run total.  That puts Sonny Gray and Brandon Woodruff both in play.
