Hello once again, Razzballers! Since we met last week, the IRL MLB races finally shaped into something of interest (well, thanks to the advent of the third Wild Card) with it looking like the AL East, AL West, NL West, and Wild Card races are about to come down to the wire. It’s a reminder of how quickly things can change in baseball even if the tallies seemed settled. And this applies to our fantasy standings, too. In my most competitive leagues, standings have been shuffling more than you’d ever expect after six grueling months of sit/start decisions.
Just like the last few weeks, we’re going to focus on the best one-week streams in order to maximize those weekly lineup leagues. Although, plenty can be gleaned here for this in daily leagues, too.
Next week holds one of my well-known favorite events… a full slate of home matchups for the league-worst Colorado Rockies in the original Bing Bong Stadium, with two three-game series. Especially given the state of the Rockies’ pitching staff, which has collectively posted a league worst 6.68 ERA since the All-Star break with the next worst team being the Twins at 5.63 (wowzas, that’s a crazy gap), there’s an opportunity to pocket an unusual number of counting stats if you play your cards right. Even though they both get only six-game weeks, don’t discount the assistance bats from Colorado’s two opponents next week, the Marlins and Angels, can add. You’ll see lots of Rockies, Marlins, and Angels hitters peppered throughout the suggestions below.
Another team with oodles of offensive potential next week is the Rays, who have seven games at their minor-league home park against Toronto and Boston. Accordingly, you’ll see Tampa hitters scattered throughout below, too. Other squads with crucial seven-game weeks, if looking for pure volume are as follows:
- Baltimore, 3 @ CHW, 4 vs NYY
- Chicago (NL), 3 @ PIT, 4 @ CIN
- Cincinnati, 3 @ STL, 4 vs CHC
- Los Angeles (NL), 3 vs PHI, 4 vs SFG
- New York (AL), 3 @ MIN, 4 @ BAL
- San Francisco, 3 @ ARI, 4 @ LAD (This is a pretty juicy lineup to target as well with two solid parks for home run potential. Plus, the Giants are playing well and in hot pursuit of the third NL Wild Card.)
- Toronto, 4 @ TBR, 3 @ KCR (The next next next juiciest week with seven games in solid hitters’ parks.)
Don’t forget, we have a slightly different format from the normal bid suggestions for end of season. Have a player you’re considering adding and want to add some “beep boop” computer-based number crunching to it all? Make sure to check out our Streamonator and Hittertron tools, which are still going strong and pumping out great suggestions for daily and weekly moves.
The stats and roster rates below are updated as of noon central time on 9/12.
As always, if you want advice on specific roster decisions you might have, feel free to leave a comment. You can also find me on BlueSky (@mcouill7.bsky.social).
CATCHERS
10/12 Team Adds
PLUS BIDS:
Kyle Teel (CHW, 45% CBS Rostership) – I was touting Edgar Quero in last week’s piece, but most of what I said could be copied/pasted right on to Teel, but with skills upgrades all around. Since the All-Star break, the former Red Sox farmhand is slashing an incredible .319/.401/.514 with seven taters, 25 RBI, 23 runs, and a pair of steals for funsies. That’s all been supported with a solid 9.3% barrel rate and 113.7 mph max EV. This 23-year-old backstop is easily one of the top 12 fantasy options in the league right now and will be an intriguing 2026 draft choice.
OTHER PLUS BIDS: Gabriel Moreno (ARI, 33% CBS Rostership), Carlos Narvaez (BOS, 25% CBS Rostership)
DOLLAR BIDS: Dillon Dingler (DET, 34% CBS Rostership)
ZERO BIDS: Francisco Alvarez (NYM, 30% CBS Rostership)
15 Team Adds
PLUS BIDS:
Patrick Bailey (SFG, 9% CBS Rostership) – Although not on the level of Teel, Bailey has also found a groove post-ASB, batting .245 with three homers, 20 RBI and 17 runs in 156 plate appearances. What makes him stand out in deeper leagues is that not only do the Giants get a seven-game schedule next week, but they also visit the best park for homers in MLB. Guess what that park is? Nope, not Coors. Not Chase Field. And not either of those Triple-A fields in use. It’s Dodger Stadium, where San Fran gets four games next week. Bailey has been a pretty solid hitter from a skills perspective this season, leading to our boss to nailing this trivia question a few weeks ago.
DOLLAR BIDS: Edgar Quero (CHW, 13% CBS Rostership)
ZERO BIDS: Victor Caratini (C/1B, HOU, 12% CBS Rostership), Adrian Del Castillo (ARI, 5% CBS Rostership), Freddy Fermin (SDP, 4% CBS Rostership)
INFIELDERS
10/12 Team Adds
PLUS BIDS:
Tyler Freeman (2B/OF, COL, 30% CBS Rostership) – Rockies bat #1. You can throw out Freeman’s recent struggles (he’s hitting .071 with two base knocks over his last seven games) because at Coors Field this season, the 26-year-old is slashing .295/.367/.410 in 53 games. Getting on-base allows him to rack up his two most valuable fantasy contributions – runs (33 in this home contests) and steals (12-for-15 on the basepaths in Denver).
OTHER PLUS BIDS: Ernie Clement (1B/2B/3B/SS, TOR, 50% CBS Rostership), Jose Caballero (2B/3B/SS/OF, NYY, 43% CBS Rostership), Yoan Moncada (3B, LAA, 20% CBS Rostership)
DOLLAR BIDS: Miguel Vargas (1B/3B/OF, CHW, 41% CBS Rostership), Brett Baty (2B/3B, NYM, 39% CBS Rostership), Jordan Lawlar (2B/3B/SS, ARI, 34% CBS Rostership), Rhys Hoskins (1B, MIL, 34% CBS Rostership), Willi Castro (2B/3B/SS/OF, CHC, 31% CBS Rostership), Warming Bernabel (1B/3B, COL, 23% CBS Rostership), Romy Gonzalez (1B/2B/SS, BOS, 21% CBS Rostership)
ZERO BIDS: Colt Keith (1B/2B/3B, DET, 49% CBS Rostership), Nathaniel Lowe (1B, BOS, 41% CBS Rostership), Jeff McNeil (2B/OF, NYM, 40% CBS Rostership), J.P. Crawford (SS, SEA, 36% CBS Rostership), Jake Burger (1B/3B, TEX, 36% CBS Rostership), Carson Williams (SS, TBR, 30% CBS Rostership), Sal Stewart (2B/3B, CIN, 26% CBS Rostership), Ryan Mountcastle (1B, BAL, 22% CBS Rostership), Spencer Horwitz (1B/2B, PIT, 21% CBS Rostership), Kevin McGonigle (SS, DET, 20% CBS Rostership)
15 Team Adds
PLUS BIDS:
Kyle Karros (3B, COL, 9% CBS Rostership) – Rockies bat #2. This is more of a “hey, you just gotta play his team’s schedule” pickup because Karros hasn’t found a groove in a small sample size of 14 home games, slashing .196/.283/.283 with a 28.3% K-rate. But for deep leagues, all of these hitters in consideration for adding are flawed, and I’d rather roll the dice on someone about to post six games in Coors Field to see what happens if desperate for a corner infielder next week.
OTHER PLUS BIDS: Otto Kemp (1B/3B/OF, PHI, 3% CBS Rostership)
DOLLAR BIDS: Blaze Alexander (2B/3B/SS, ARI, 19% CBS Rostership), Jared Triolo (1B/2B/3B/SS, PIT, 18% CBS Rostership), Chase Meidroth (2B/SS, CHW, 15% CBS Rostership), Josh Bell (1B, WSN, 14% CBS Rostership), Casey Schmitt (1B/2B/3B, SFG, 7% CBS Rostership), Eric Wagaman (1B/3B/OF, 7% CBS Rostership)
ZERO BIDS: Ha-seong Kim (2B/SS, ATL, 19% CBS Rostership), Ke’Bryan Hayes (3B, CIN, 16% CBS Rostership), Curtis Mead (1B/2B/3B, CHW, 5% CBS Rostership), Brayan Rocchio (2B/SS, CLE, 4% CBS Rostership), Dominic Smith (1B, SFG, 2% CBS Rostership)
OUTFIELDERS
10/12 Team Adds
PLUS BIDS:
Mickey Moniak (COL, 40% CBS Rostership) – Rockies bat #3. This one is much easier to justify because the former number one overall pick has posted a .303/.349/.583 slash line with 12 homers and 40 RBI in 64 contests at Coors this season. That slash is pretty much Cal Raleigh but with more average. Even if Moniak is hardly starting against southpaws, of which two are currently slated for Colorado to face, he garners pinch hit appearances, and four starts is maybe all it takes for him to pop a couple of crucial round trippers.
OTHER PLUS BIDS: Dylan Beavers (BAL, 31% CBS Rostership), Victor Robles (SEA, 31% CBS Rostership), Harrison Bader (PHI, 28% CBS Rostership)
DOLLAR BIDS: Gavin Sheets (1B/OF, SDP, 45% CBS Rostership), Austin Hays (CIN, 43% CBS Rostership), Colton Cowser (BAL, 43% CBS Rostership), Jeremiah Jackson (3B/SS/OF, BAL, 40% CBS Rostership), Daylen Lile (WSN, 21% CBS Rostership)
ZERO BIDS: Lars Nootbaar (STL, 36% CBS Rostership), Matt Wallner (MIN, 30% CBS Rostership), Miguel Andujar (3B/OF, CIN, 25% CBS Rostership), Andrew Benintendi (CHW, 25% CBS Rostership)
15 Team Adds
PLUS BIDS:
Jake Mangum (TBR, 19% CBS Rostership) – Despite RosterResource saying Mangum is in a platoon, he’s a switch-hitter and has been drawing starts against lefty starters, so it’s more of an 80% timeshare for a lineup spot. He’s the main target for those desperate for a steal or two in roto standings, as he’s swiped 24 in 376 plate appearances, and the Rays have seven games in their offense-boosting home park.
OTHER PLUS BIDS: Wenceel Perez (DET, 17% CBS Rostership), Brandon Marsh (PHI, 12% CBS Rostership)
DOLLAR BIDS: Max Kepler (PHI, 9% CBS Rostership), Nathan Lukes (TOR, 8% CBS Rostership), Austin Martin (MIN, 3% CBS Rostership)
ZERO BIDS: Drew Gilbert (SFG, 10% CBS Rostership), Mike Tauchman (CHW, 5% CBS Rostership), Alek Thomas (ARI, 5% CBS Rostership), Jake McCarthy (ARI, 4% CBS Rostership), Bryce Teodosio (LAA, 1% CBS Rostership)
STARTING PITCHERS
10/12 Team Adds
BREAK THE BANK:
Connelly Early (BOS, 26% CBS Rostership) – Just when you thought the parade of young arms getting called up would end, Early debuts after blitzing through Double- and Triple-A this season. The University of Virginia product showed no issues with conquering minor-league bats, firing a 2.60 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 22.2% K-BB rate in 100.1 total innings. Then he showed up at Bing Bong Stadium this week and looked untouchable with 11 Ks in five frames to notch his first big-league win. Early is slated for a solid two-start week at home against Sacramento before travelling to Tampa. That outing in Tampa is a bit iffy, but I’m not overly afraid of it given what we’ve seen from Early so far. I like him better than Payton Tolle and Brandon Sproat, the two other recent rookie phenoms to be promoted, for the rest of the season because he’s an advanced pitcher with a five-pitch mix and solid control (111 Location+).
PLUS BIDS: Shane Smith (CHW, 42% CBS Rostership), Brandon Sproat (NYM, 35% CBS Rostership), Ryan Weathers (MIA, 26% CBS Rostership)
DOLLAR BIDS: Tyler Mahle (TEX, 47% CBS Rostership), Justin Verlander (SFG, 45% CBS Rostership), Slade Cecconi (CLE, 42% CBS Rostership), Cade Cavalli (WSN, 39% CBS Rostership)
ZERO BIDS: Ian Seymour (TBR, 43% CBS Rostership), Braxton Ashcraft (28% CBS Rostership), Michael McGreevy (STL, 27% CBS Rostership), Jason Alexander (HOU, 25% CBS Rostership), Bryce Elder (ATL, 23% CBS Rostership)
15 Team Adds
PLUS BIDS:
Tyler Wells (BAL, 10% CBS Rostership) – I’m getting just as tired Tyler Wells as you are if you read this piece every week. The Baltimore righty just keeps strolling along though, picking up a win and quality start this week with a 6.2 inning, six-K outing against Pittsburgh. The 6’8” hurler gives Lance Lynn with three fastballs (four-seam, sinker, cutter) but with a more over-the-top arm angle (49 degrees vs Lynn’s 32). Wells doesn’t pop on the Stuff+ scale (only 99 total on the full arsenal with the four-seam clocking in at an 86 while everything else is 100-plus), but when you watch him pitch, you can tell the funk coming out of a release point that’s one of the league’s highest just eats hitters alive (Wells is in a competition with Justin Verlander and Pete Fairbanks at the top of this chart).
OTHER PLUS BIDS: Joey Cantillo (CLE, 17% CBS Rostership), Johan Oviedo (PIT, 12% CBS Rostership)
DOLLAR BIDS: Davis Martin (CHW, 12% CBS Rostership), Martin Perez (CHW, 10% CBS Rostership), Cade Povich (BAL, 9% CBS Rostership)
ZERO BIDS: Sean Burke (CHW, 10% CBS Rostership), Jacob Latz (TEX, 5% CBS Rostership), Andrew Alvarez (WSN, 5% CBS Rostership), JR Ritchie (ATL, 4% CBS Rostership)
RELIEVERS
10/12 Team Adds
BREAK THE BANK:
Shawn Armstrong (TEX, 22% CBS Rostership) – Welcome to one of the most cursed jobs of the 2025 MLB season, Shawn – closer for the Texas Rangers! The journeyman reliever has risen to the top of a subpar bullpen thanks to a 1.13 ERA, 2.69 FIP, 0.67 WHIP, and 21.3% K-BB in 24 innings since the All-Star break. Bruce Bochy is about to pitch the 35-year-old until his arm tears away from his body as the Rangers battle for that last Wild Card spot over the next fortnight.
PLUS BIDS: Jose Ferrer (WSN, 41% CBS Rostership), JoJo Romero (STL, 39% CBS Rostership), Brad Keller (CHC, 21% CBS Rostership)
DOLLAR BIDS: Calvin Faucher (MIA, 25% CBS Rostership)
ZERO BIDS: Ronny Henriquez (MIA, 34% CBS Rostership)
15 Team Adds
PLUS BIDS: Jordan Leasure (CHW, 12% CBS Rostership), Keegan Akin (BAL, 11% CBS Rostership), Andrew Saalfrank (ARI, 10% CBS Rostership), Andrew Kittredge (CHC, 8% CBS Rostership), Jake Woodford (ARI, 1% CBS Rostership)
DOLLAR BIDS: Phil Maton (TEX, 10% CBS Rostership), Justin Topa (MIN, 10% CBS Rostership), Riley O’Brien (STL, 5% CBS Rostership), Elvis Alvarado (ATH, 1% CBS Rostership)
ZERO BIDS: Aaron Ashby (MIL, 5% CBS Rostership), Sean Newcomb (ATH, 3% CBS Rostership), Hogan Harris (ATH, 2% CBS Rostership), Lake Bachar (MIA, 1% CBS Rostership)
