After this weeks FAAB run, there will only be 2.5 weeks left of the MLB season; and anyone who got added to the IL this week should be dropped. Ultimately, it’s crunch time and you should be evaluating everything in the standings (if you play roto). Moreover, it doesn’t matter where you drafted anyone at this point. It’s a two-week sprint to the end and only results matter. Some will be more aggressive than others and you could see some pretty interesting names hit the wire. Don’t forget to look at who gets dropped in your leagues.
Notable Schedules:
Every team has six games this week with the exceptions of;
Eight games: Diamondbacks, Dodgers
Seven games: Braves, Orioles, Cubs, Guardians, Rockies, Astros, Angels, Brewers, Twins, Giants, Rays
10/12 Team Adds
Ozzie Albies (ATL/2B) – I did not think we would see him back before the playoffs. I’m sure others did as well. Make sure he’s not lingering on the wire. (Top priority)
Garrett Cooper (MIA/1B,OF) – Cooper has 13% barrel and a 45.7% HH over the last three weeks. The Marlins will see some soft pitching, as they face the Cubs and Nationals. (1% FAAB)
Mike Yastrzemski / Willie Calhoun (SFG/OF) – The Giants will see six righties in their seven games this week. Including three at Coors Field. (1% FAAB)
Wade Miley (CHC/SP) – Average pitcher but gets starts against the Marlins and Pirates. They are 30th and 28th in wRC+ respectively, against LHP since the all-star break. (1% FAAB)
Mitch Keller (PIT/SP) – Keller has been solid over his last 25 innings. He has a 1.80 ERA (3.46 xFIP), 1.00 WHIP, along with a 24.7% k-rate. He’ll face the Cubs this week and should line up for two starts against the Reds and Cardinals the following week. (1% FAAB)
Lane Thomas (WAS/OF) – Thomas has slashed .288/.341/.474 since the beginning of August. He has collected 6 home runs and 4 steals over that time.(1-2% FAAB)
Jose Leclerc (TEX/RP) – Three saves in the last seven games. (1-2% FAAB)
Brandon Marsh (PHI/OF) – Marsh has been platooning since being traded to the Phillies. Thankfully, they have six home games this week, all against RHP. Moreover, Marsh has been a completely different hitter since being traded (.782 OPS vs .637). (1% FAAB)
15 Team Adds
Robbie Grossman (ATL/OF)- Grossman has had a brutal season, no doubt. However, he’s 8 for his last 27 with two homers and a steal. He’s also back to playing every day and the Braves have a good schedule this week. (1% FAAB)
Hunter Greene (CIN/SP) – Threw 66 pitches in his last rehab start. The Reds have a fairly soft schedule the rest of the way. Look to see how deep he gets in his start Saturday. (1% FAAB)
Bailey Ober (MIN/SP) – Looked good in his return on Friday night allowing zero runs, five ks, and one walk. Bailey’s next start is scheduled for Wednesday against the Royals. Which should set him up for a two-start week against the White Sox and Tigers. (1-2% FAAB)
Harrison Bader (NYY/OF) – Bader went out on a rehab assignment this past Monday. He stole a base in his first game, a good sign for his injured foot. I expect him to be back at some point this week. (1-2% FAAB)
