I get so funny with the money that you flaunt
I said where’d you get your information from huh?
You think that you can front when revelation comes
Yeah, you can’t front on that
Yo Yo Yo’s we iz takin’ it back to ’92 with the baddest trio of white boys since Richie,Potsie and Ralph. The Beastie Boys are probably the best ever to drop lyrics for all the suburban kids to feel fresh too. Seriously, after this song came out every kid went out and bought a beanie and made it a staple that to this day has gotten a little ridiculous. By the way, why the hell do people wear beanies when it’s 100 degrees outside? I don’t get it. You can look like this guy and that’s not a good thing. Sorry back to the Beasties and this game changing jam. Oh damn, what am I doing? This is suppose to be about DraftKings. Let’s get funny with our money and drop the $10,700 today on Michael Wacha. He’s worth it. You might ask where I get my information from?…Huh? The Royals have been pretty blaherrible for fantasy purposes. Collectively they can do some damage but I’m willing to bet they won’t. Wacha’s K-rate sits at a very pretty 9.20 with a walk rate at 2.33. He faces Yoradno Ventura who is coming off an elbow issue and has given up 9 earned runs over his last 8.2 innings and as much as I like K’s I also like to get the W when I invest this much. The other options for the afternoon set is not as sexy and if I’m gonna be spending, I want to spend on sexy. Before I move on I was flipping through Beastie Boy videos on You Tube and was reminded of how good videos used to be. Here is my top 5 all time 5) No Sleep Til Brooklyn 4) Intergalactic 3) Fight for Your Right (To Party) 2) Hey Ladies 1) Sabotage Please post your own favorites below and let’s talk about it.
Oh you thought I was jumping to player profiles? Ha! Actually the Guru did a great job yesterday of providing tips and jokes for the newbies. It’s a great game and I alway tell you all to come join us. If you are feeling a little apprehensive we can keep it our little secret. If you decide to play I suggest using the DFS-Bot as a baseline first. Then go look for what you think is a good value. We are essentially making a lineup of batty calls and streamers. Honestly you can spend 20 minutes and get a good grasp on what your lineup should be. Please don’t hesitate to ask as many questions as you want in the comments. That is what we are here for. You can look me up on DraftKings too, my handle is J-FOH.
Brad Peacock, SP: $7,600 – He’s K’d 24 over his last 18.2 innings and there is something really amazing brewing down in Houston. The un-ownable franchise has become a hot bed for good young arms that are putting everything we thought we knew on it’s head. The price is reasonable and the Angels sit in the middle with a 20% K rate as a team. I like the value and dare I say the chance for a win? Sounds crazy….right? It’s Houston. I feel responsible for their hotness , I bought a Houston hat a while back and ever since they have been killing it.
Tyler Skaggs, SP: $8,000 – He has already shut down the Astros twice this year (15 innings, 11K’s, 1 ER) but will the third time be a charm? He’s my fill in if the St.Louis/Kansas City game is a rainout.
Travis d’Arnaud, C: $2,600 – He’s facing a lefty and I like that lefty righty matchup for my punt play. He gets to play in hitter friendly Wrigley and that’s good enough for me. I’d rather spend my dollars elsewhere and just light a candle for TdA!
Allen Craig, 1B: $4,400 – He gets the gimpy Yordano and has always performed well, .394 avg, against in state rival the Royals. The price is nice and he’s been on a roll lately hitting over .300 the last two weeks with a couple of dongs and a lot of RBI’s. If you want to invest more at 1B you can go grab Justin Morneau and do the Rockies stack but I have a feeling that everyone else is doing the exact same thing. Watch the weather here, it’s calling for scattered thunder storms, so if the game is canceled then we will need to make a change.
Anthony Rizzo, 1B: $4,300 – He likes hitting at home this year, .317, and I have a feeling the rug is going to get pulled out from under Jacob deGroom. He’s not this good. This is another back up play in case the Cards game is rained out or if you have no faith in Craig here is a reasonably priced option.
Roughned Odor, 2B: $3,000 – Another value punt play for me. He can only hit right handers, .370 vs .000 against lefty’s, and he gets right hander Chris Tillman who has a 5.51 ERA away from Camden Yards. The Rangers could turn out to be a sneaky stack tomorrow for those that like to take chances.
Adrian Beltre, 3B: $5,000 – He has the best career number vs. Tillman and gets the man on only 4 days rest. That is the kind of off schedule opportunity I like to jump on. He’s been on fire lately and there is never not a reason to play the hot hand. Over that time he ‘s batting over .400 with 3 home runs and is starting to look like the stud he has been the last couple of years.
Mark Reynolds, 1B/3B: $4,100 – Here’s a fun one that has great numbers vs Kevin Correia. Mashing 3 HR’s and hitting .286 is a nice line vs. anybody. He also has 18 K’s so tread lightly on this one. If Beltre or one of the other first basemen don’t fit in your budget then I would turn to this donkey for some daily love dong….Wait! What?
Troy Tulowitzki, SS: $5,800 – I’d be a fool not to put one player from a game at Coors in my article. He has the best numbers against Bronson Arroyo, 6 for 13 with 2 HR’s, and you couple that with Arroyo’s three year numbers (9.82 ERA, 4 HR’s) at Coors and that is a Rocky Mountain High! Watch the weather in this one too. The forecast says isolated thunderstorms so be prepared to have a backup.
J.J. Hardy, SS: $3,400 – We’re still waiting on his first bomb this year and maybe it’s today? He’s had 4 multi hit games out of his last eight and hit safely in 6 of those contests. J.J.’s taken Colby Lewis yard twice in his career and Lewis has been nothing but hot garbage this year. If Tulo is rained out or you want to spend your money somewhere else then I would take this and light a candle.
Nelson Cruz, OF: $5,600 – Senor Cruz is doing his best impersonation of Edwin right now blasting dongs all over the place. He hurts his hand Sunday but comes back on Tuesday to blast one out against his former club. There is no way you can keep this man away from his dongs right now. Set it and forget it!
Nick Markakis, OF: $3,800 – Yes, I’m stacking against Lewis and I don’t care what anyone thinks. I’m also playing the weather. With the STL/KC, CO/AZ, and MIL/MIN games all in question for rain I need to have a back-up plan. Do I love Nick? Nope, but what are the other options? It could end up being slim pickins and you got to get hit’s somewhere.
Josh Willingham, OF: $4,800 – He’s on fire since returning from the DL and who would I be if I didn’t do a little self promotion for my Creeper of the Week! 4 home runs over his last 7 games will make anyone stand up and pay attention. Of all the potential rainouts, this one is the least likely. As I pointed out, the park factors are voided with the Willinghomer!….Zombtato!!!
Carlos Gomez, OF: $5,000 – Notice the theme here? It’s spend your money on pitching and outfield day here at DraftKings. He’s a hack with a bat and likes launching the long ball. Lifetime vs. Correia he’s 3 for 9 with two home runs and only one strikeout. Those are numbers I can get behind and you should too. Again, like many players today, be on top of the weather.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
It might rain in three of the six late contests today so keep coming back to comments for updates. Like I stated above the STL @ KC, ARI @ COL and MIL @ MIN could all be rained out. The rest are sunny skies and indoor games. It’s actually suppose to be in the mid 90’s for the BAL @ TEX game which is always a good thing for ball travel.
Doing Lines In Vegas
Shocker Special! The ARI vs COL game is @ 10. Didn’t see that one coming. You can stack it but so will everyone else. If you’re in a 50/50 or a multiplier then you might have a good day and still lose. The one I like is the Bal vs Tex @ 10. Might get over looked by the novice players. Choose wisely gamblers.
