Happy Friday everyone.  It’s nice being in on a Friday.  Tuesday and Friday nights are usually the most jam packed nights of the DFS week with plenty of large tournaments and Friday tends to house the week’s biggest events including qualifiers aplenty.  Good luck to those chasing Q’s this evening.  Despite being a Friday, it’s more like a whacky Wednesday.  I guess we can call it a freaky Friday.  For those that don’t subscribe to the hitter-tron and stream-o-nator, first of all, I’m sorry you’re losing your league.  Second of all, what is the matter with you?  Thirdly, there’s some craziness going down tonight and I’ll fill you in a little and explain my sentiments.  There’s something I can’t ever recall seeing with the stream-o-nator tonight and that’s not a single pitcher with over a $6.7 value.  In fact, there are only 9 pitchers with any positive value tonight, which leaves 21 pitchers in the negative with three of them in the negative $30 range.  Those three pitchers aren’t even starting in Coors!  What does all this mean?  Expect a ton of offense tonight because there’s a ton of shizz pitchers throwing.  I would guess tonight might be one of those nights where you can score 150 DraftKings points and not cash.  The other fun thing tonight is Giancarlo Stanton in Coors field.  The superhuman crusher of baseballs checks in at a very rare $100+ value tonight.  Just imagine what Giancarlo could do if he were on the Rockies.  *Wavy lines* I was so excited to draft Giancarlo #1 overall this year.  He hit 30 homers before the all-star break and then his hamstring tore in half, what a bummer. *Wavy lines*  Yea, that sounds about right, very Tulo-esque.  No matter, he’s in the hitter friendly confines tonight and will be appointment television for me.  At $5,800 tonight, I’d say he’s worth every penny.  I expected him to be over $6,000 to be honest.  Look at us, bargain shopping like a soccer mom.  Let’s take a look at some other players to roster and see if there’s any starters worth rostering this Friday.

Tim Lincecum, SP: $7,700 – What, you don’t enjoy 4 year old YouTube references?  Well, perhaps you enjoy stoner pitchers facing terrible offensive teams instead.  Enter, Timmy vs. the Phils.  Philly is just too much fun to pick on.  Their .611 OPS vs. RHP is the lowest mark of any team by 40 points.  Lincecum comes in as the second biggest Vegas favorite and is a nice mid range price.

Jake Odorizzi, SP: $8,600 – More minefield management here.  This is likely the highest price I’ll pay for a pitcher tonight.  The top three most expensive pitchers are all pitching away from home, which I don’t love, but nothing is perfect tonight.  As I skim the pitchers, Odorizzi jumps out as the pitcher that has the most potential for a high strikeout game and limited damage.  Seattle is also bottom five in team OPS vs. RHP and Odor has been filthy (stinky?) so far.  14 walks in 72.1 IP helps keep damage to a minimum.  These are the types of things we’re looking for tonight as we navigate this mess.

Williams Perez, SP: $5,500 – I generally enjoy trying to find an under $7,000 pitcher for my column, but tonight, that is no easy task.  Confession time, I’m a Braves fan.  That said, I don’t have blinders, I know what Perez is, and it’s nothing special.  A visit from the regression fairies could absolutely be in the cards tonight.  But, and this is a but to the moon and back, he’s a heavy sinkerball pitcher with a surprising number of Ks so far.  All I’m saying is, if you’re slamming in Coors field bats and find yourself digging through the basement for a SP, give Willy a look.

Tyson Ross, SP: $9,400 – I will be employing the Ross fade tonight.  He’s a hodgepadre, away from Petco and I’m not a fan.  For what it’s worth, Vegas tends to agree as this game is coming in as a pick’em.  With no clear favorite and an 8 run total, I feel like there’s better ways to spend your fake dough tonight.  Oh, and for those wondering, Ross is the SON’s top pitcher today with the aforementioned $6.7 value tag.

Nick Hundley, C: $3,700 – Boring?  Yes.  Predictable?  Totally.  What can I say, I’m a sucker for Coors field and DK jacked J.T. Realmuto up to $4,000.  Save the $300 and enjoy similar upside.

Justin Bour, 1B: $3,500 – Maybe I’m just running down the Marlins/Rockies lineup, I can’t help myself.  I like pointing out the cheap Coors exposure though.  When you get a guy with decent pop at this price in Coors field, my attention is grabbed and yours should be too.  Bour is my favorite RCL batty call tonight and one of my top plays at first base for DFS.

Lucas Duda, 1B: $4,200 – If you decide to fade the Coors game (and if there’s a night to do it, this would be it) there’s a bevy of bad pitchers to pick on.  Oh, hello there Jeremy Hellickson pitching in Coors south, I didn’t hear you come in.

Dustin Pedroia, 2B: $4,200 – Pedroia’s been a little bit of a heater the last few days and tonight gets to face off on fresh off the DL, Scott Kazmir.  Little Dusty actually has a fairly substantial history vs. Kazmir and it reads well for him 19/40 with 2 HRs and 2 SBs.  I don’t see Pedroia flashing the wheels tonight, but hitting for a .475 average will do.

Logan Forsythe, 1B/2B: $3,200 – Forsythe is a straight stat stuffer and has been batting cleanup for the Rays.  Once you stop laughing, realize all the potential that holds for a 2B and at a price almost as low as Stephen Drew, who bats 7th.

Yasmany Tomas, 3B: $4,100 – The biggest benefactor of the Trumbo trade, Tomas is finally free.  He can play without feeling like he has to auditioning for playing time now and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that’s all it takes for the HRs to show-up.  When they do, I want to be on board.

Alex Rodriguez, 3B: $4,000 – I LOVE targeting Jered Weaver and his complete junk of an arsenal.  Can you call a 60 MPH pitch part of an “arsenal”.  Let’s call it a collection, like a stamp collection, slow, boring and lickable.  A-Rod is tonight’s BvP special, he’s 9 for 26 with 5 HRs off Weaver.  Expect A-Rod to be licking Weaver’s stamps all night long…yup.

Stephen Drew, 2B/SS: $3,000 – I will most likely be doing everything I can to fit Tulo into my lineups tonight.  That Tulo hot streak is about to come on.  if you’re not feelin it though, you can always fall back on my cheap SS buddy Stephen Drew.  I’d get Tulo in your lineup though if I were you, but you do what you do.

Avisail Garcia, OF: $4,300 – Kyle Ryan is starting what will most likely be a “starter by committee” game for the Tigers.  All Pale Hose bats are in play tonight.

Chris Colabello, OF: $3,500 – Roberto Hernandez visits Toronto, that means any and all Blue Jays bats can be deployed tonight.  $3,500 is such a nice price for a guy hitting in the middle of that loaded order, throw in a below average starter on the hill and I’m a huge fan.

Junior Lake, OF: $3,100 – Just a PSA on a player whose price has yet to be adjusted.  Junior was batting cleanup yesterday (albeit vs. a LHP) and has contributed something the past two games.  If he’s batting that high, in that order, at this price, it’s borderline “must play” territory.

Ben Paulsen, 1B/OF: $3,600 – Walt Weiss and his mustache fetish won’t stop playing Ben Paulsen, much to the chagrin of Wilin Rosario owners everywhere.  That doesn’t matter to us DFS players though.  All we need to know is he’s at home and in the lineup.  Insert, score points, lather, repeat.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

I should really just leave a permanent note here:

Watch the weather in Colorado tonight, rain is expected in the area.

I have an idea: DraftKings should run a tournament, $5 entry, all money goes towards a retractable roof for the Rockies.  Winner take all for naming rights.  The MattTruss retractable roof has a nice ring to it, though kind of sounds like a new age sleeping device.

Oh, and there’s also some rain possibly in Kansas City for the TEX/KC game.  But who cares about that?  What’s going on at Coors?

Doing Lines In Vegas

A big surprise to me is the day’s biggest favorite, Edinson Volquez with a -145.  Interesting Vegas, very interesting.  COL and ARI check in with the two largest totals for the night with 10/5 and 9 respectively.  On the  low end is STL/LAD at 6.5 with Brett Anderson as the slight favorite (-120).  If you’re feeling  frisky, at $7,000, I wouldn’t hate on running Brett out there tonight vs. the Cards.
