It’s possible that the Philly homer in me is coming into play, but I am brimming with confidence in my Phils after last night’s offensive explosion. Cliff Lee ($10,600) looks like a great play today against a Reds lineup that is missing both Jay Bruce and Joey Votto. Lee’s K/BB ratio is fifth among all MLB pitchers and he’s the best option under $11K on DraftKings. Lefty Cole Hamels had no trouble handling the Reds yesterday with 7 IP and 10 strikeouts, and I’m confident Lee can provide more of the same. Stream-o-Nator likes the cut of his jib as well. He’s sitting numero uno at a $28 value.

Here are today’s picks…

Jordan Zimmermann, SP: $9,600 – Zimmermann should provide lots of strikeouts against a Mets squad that is sporting the fifth worst strikeout percentage. His last start was a clunker, but that had more to do with a shifting schedule and workload than a lack of talent. He’s one of the safer pitching plays under $10K and he is third overall on the Stream-o-Nator today.

Adam Jones, OF: $4,600 and Chris Davis, 1B: $4,500 – This is more a play if you’re looking to go against the grain and pick some guys others might be scared to start. Going up against James Shields in KC looks intimidating, but Jones is slashing .310/.326/.548 against Shields. That’s over 42 at bats, which is a decent sample size. Davis could hit dingers in bunches and he’s got the platoon advantage against Shields. He’s also got two homers in 12 at bats against the right-hander.

Chase Headley, 3B: $4,500 and Seth Smith, OF: $4,400 – Home runs at Coors? Get right outta town! Smith launched one last night against Lyles and I like him again against another righty, Juan Nicasio. Headley gets the Coors treatment as well, but he also has a decent history against Nicasio, with two home runs in 15 at bats.

Colorado Lefty Stack vs. Donn Roach (R)

Charlie Blackmon ($5,300), Corey Dickerson ($4,000), Justin Morneau ($4,900), Carlos Gonzalez ($5,400)

Andrew Cashner hit the disabled list, and Donn Roach is going to take the mound in his place today. The right handed reliever may come in and shock the world with this one, but I wouldn’t bet on it. I’m stacking as many Colorado lefties as I can afford. Roach is 1-0 with a handsome 2.57 ERA as a reliever, but his longest outing was 4 1/3 innings and his K/9 is under 6. They’ve already said he’ll be limited to around 60 pitches. Hitter-Tron loved these guys when it still thought they’d be facing Cashner. To put it another way, it could be a bloodbath.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

The weather actually looks great across the board. That means you can set your lineups with confidence and I can finally mow my lawn. #suburbia
