It is Thursday, May 12th which means MLB has a split slate with several teams not playing tonight! This article will be on the four-game slate at 6:35 pm ET on FanDuel. To dig deeper into the best plays, check out our DFS tools! We will start our lineup off tonight with Corey Seager, SS: $3,200. He should be batting middle of the order while Texas has the highest implied run total on the slate. While he is batting just .243 with a .198 ISO, he has three home runs in the last two games facing another bad pitcher today.

Luis Gil, SP: $8,100 – Although Dylan Cease provides the most upside on the slate, making him a worthy GPP play, Gil is my favorite cash game pitcher. The White Sox are 21st in ISO (.129), and 28th in runs scored. Additionally, Gil has a 29.5% strikeout rate in the major leagues. Walks are a concern with a 14.7% walk rate, but Chicago is dead-last in drawing walks in the league. This is a good offense for Gil to face.
JT Brubaker, SP: $7,200 – If you want to go a little less expensive, why not roster a Pirates pitcher? What would possibly go wrong…… In all seriousness, Brubaker has a 26.1% strikeout rate (third on the slate) and facing a Reds team that has the second-highest strikeout rate (25.9%) and is a middle of the pack offense. The wind should be blowing in and the Pirates are favored in this game as well.
Rhys Hoskins, 1B: $3,200 – Hoskins just hit a grand slam yesterday so let’s go back to him and chase the points. While Anderson has had a good season, Hoskins has a .280 ISO against lefties in the last two seasons.
Chris Taylor, 2B: $3,200 – Projects as the best 2B from a point per dollar perspective in our tool tonight.
Adolis Garcia, OF: $3,900 – Most likely to bat 5th in the order tonight. I do not mind pairing him with Seager for some correlation in a cash game. In a tournament, Texas is a viable stack. He is batting just .200 with a .164 ISO but has four home runs and four steals, and can provide fantasy points in multiple ways.
Bryan Reynolds, OF: $3,100 – Overton is not a bad pitcher, but he has one of the lower strikeout rates at just 17.9%. Reynolds is typically a high average contact hitter with some pop. He has a career .285 batting average with .197 ISO. His current average (.229) and ISO (.162) are lower than his career numbers at this point but they will likely regress to his average as the season goes on.
