Well happy Sunday everyone and merry Byron Buxton day to you. That’s right the chosen one is upon us, the most hyped Major League debut since Bryce Harper. But believe it or not that’s not all!! We have Francisco Lindor joining the party as well as today’s undercard. If these two stud prospects are already owned in all of your season long leagues there’s a great way to get in on the festivities. Play some DraftKings and draft ’em both! Buxton is an affordable $4,200, while Lindor is just $3,900, so both players can easily be fit into a lineup. Hell, I’m doing a prospect lineup for some GPP’s with McCullers, Foltynewicz, Lindor, Buxton, Gallo, Swihart, and Addison Russell. I’m also using fellow top prospect Carlos Correa in a lineup or two. It’s been a big week for the future sex machines of our game. I have no idea how long Buxton sticks but he’s going to be fun to own. But wait prospects aren’t the only excitement on tap for today, did you have a gander at the pitching ledger? Aces on aces my over the interweb friends. Scherzer, Sale, Kluber, Hamels, Gray, Lester, and Taylor Jungmann! I can hardly contain myself can you tell?

A.J. Burnett, SP: $9,500 – Looking to break away from the ace pack and find yourself a pitcher with the possibility of being the top arm of the day? Try yourself a little A.J. Burnett over easy. Why over easy? Because he’s facing those overly easy Phillies. Burnett had a nice start at Philadelphia back on May 12th. This time he faces the Phils at home where he sports a 1.60 ERA in 33.2 innings. Not to mention he’s averaging a handsome 20.4 points per game on DraftKings, so his skill set translates. Pair him with your favorite ace and have a party.
Lance McCullers, SP: $7,800 – Through 5 big league starts the kid looks pretty good, has huge k upside, and he’s on a winning team. Today he draws a Mariners team with the third lowest wOBA vs RHP and the third highest K%. So he’s sort of a good matchup, you know what I’m saying?
Mike Foltynewicz, SP: $6,500 – After being burnt by Folty in his first start of the week, I’m a little hesitant to go back to the well. What can I say I’m a glutton for punishment because Amazin’s punch and judy offense has me going back to said well, and featuring Folty in a couple of lineups. If you’re looking for a nice tournament play to pair with Scherzer, Sale, or Kluber, try on Folty!
Byron Buxton, OF: $4,200 – It’s the man’s debut; it’s like a baseball player’s birthday. I mean come on have you no heart? No sense of wonder? Are you dead inside? Wait avoid answering any of those. It’s a nice Sunday in June I don’t want to hear about your depressing life.
Carlos Correa, SS: $4,100 – He’s just 16 at bats into his major league career and he already has two homers vs LHP. In fact all of his hits have come vs. those demonic southpaws. Well guess what Reggae Superstar Rock and Roll Prospect King Carlos “The Jackal” Correa faces another lefty today in Roenis “Don’t call me” Elias. I’m not saying he’s going to go deep but he’ll probably go 10-10 hit for the cycle twice drive in 20 and score 11 runs. How is that possible? Because he’s Carlos Correa God damn it!
George Springer, OF: $4,700 – Hey did someone say the Astros were facing a lefty? Uh-huh? Well it’s time for Springer to find his way into my lineup. George has one of the higher wOBA’s vs LHP in the game and he brings that power speed upside that’s oh so desirable in these daily formats.
Joey Gallo, 3B: $3,400 – Okay so DraftKings what’s up with your insanely low price on Gallo? I mean okay, he’s an unproven rookie, but so are Buxton, Lindor, and company and they all cost more. Hell, Gallo already has some big homers to his name to boot, and that’s exactly why I’m starting him here. That and the pitcher he opposes today, Phil Hughes. Good old Captain Phil is a long ball loving daddy this year allowing a whopping 1.53 HR per 9. Gallo + Hughes equals tater town.
Giancarlo Stanton, OF: $5,600 – Newflash Stanton has a ton of power. I know you probably were unaware right? I mean he’s only been on a non-stop dong pace for the last few weeks. Here’s a quick exercise for you…Oh wait you don’t like exercise? You’re here because you don’t want to exercise and want me to do the work for you? Can I pick you up and move your legs like you’re running? This is getting weird, but what I was trying to say is look at Giancarlo’s ISO vs. LHP. It’s bananas (do you also have to sing spell bananas everytime you write it? I do…) it’s the best in the league by .228 points. That means he’s better than the second highest ISO by the difference of Mike Trout’s ISO of .224. Good God that’s not human. Oh yeah he faces a lefty today.
Mason Williams, OF: $2,400 – Punt play of the day! I started this handsome devil on Friday and he repaid me with a homer. No worries, returning the favor here by singing the man’s praises. I’m sure he reads Razzball and cares.
I’m Only Happy When It Rains
A whole lot of weather today as we have 7 games with some threat of showers. The most likely of the bunch looks to be this afternoon’s opener with the Indians at Detroit. Other games with the possibility of rain drops are the Twins at the Rangers, the Royals at the Cardinals, the Phillies at the Pirates, and the Yankees at the O’s.
Doing Lines In Vegas
Well looks like Vegas agrees with me on the Burnett and McCullers love as each are among the bigger favorites of the day. Burnett and the Pirates are -153, while McCullers and the Stros are -143 at home vs Seattle. Other big favorites are Max Scherzer and the Nats at -160, Lester and the Cubs at -155, and Chris Heston coming off his no hitter at -144.
The highest run totals according to the sharks will be in the Minnesota @ Texas game (9), and the Toronto/Red Sox game at Fenway (8.5). In closing enjoy your Buxton/Lindor/Ace day and may your DFS persuits be plentiful!
