How do I sort results?

Click the column headers once to sort numbers in descending order. Twice to sort in ascending order.

How do I filter results?

You can filter multiple fields at the same time.  The text fields below the column headers enable several methods for filtering the data.  Here are some examples:

Function Symbol Example Explanation
CUSTOM LIST *Player A*|*Player B* *Mason Miller*|*Jhoan Duran* Filters out everyone except the names you want. You can add as many players as you want. You don’t even have to type full names – just enough characters to isolate the given player.
MATCH N/A Type “BSV” into a date field Shows all blown saves on a given day. Use to quickly find all examples of whatever decision you’re looking for.
OR | *Miller*|*Duran* in ‘Name’ All players with Miller or Duran in their name. The asterisk before/after each Name is needed for wildcarding when you are using OR.
NOT ! !Miller in ‘Name’ This excludes anyone with Miller in their name.
GREATER THAN > >5 in ROS_SV All players with more than 5 projected saves rest of season.
LESS THAN < <15 in a date field All players who threw fewer than 15 pitches in an appearance that day.
GREATER THAN OR EQUAL TO >= >=30 in a date field All players who threw 30 or more pitches in an appearance that day (good for finding bulk IP targets).
LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO <= <=10 in a date field All players who threw 10 or fewer pitches in an appearance that day.

How do I download results?

There is a download button above the table.

Where is “BAL” when I filter?

You can type “BALT” or “ORIO” and that does the trick. All mascot names work for their respective teams.

What do “S+/~/-” and “H+/~/-” mean?

Basically, “+”= good; “~”= solid;  “-“= bad. So, S+ is your primary closer, S~ is guys in a committee, H+ is your consistent late-inning setup men, H~ is setup men in rotating roles, and the other middle/long relievers get S-/H-.

Why are “Role_Next7” and “Role_ROS” different in some cases?

The former represents a given player’s current role on their team. It may differ from Role_ROS for a variety of reasons, such as a currently injured player bumping them down the depth chart in the future.

What does all that info in the calendar boxes mean, and how might I use it?

You see a rolling 7-day calendar view of every team’s relief pitcher appearances, with the most recent day on the left. The number is pitches thrown, the inning is the inning they first appeared, and the abbreviation is whatever decision was earned: save (SV), hold (HLD), win (W), loss (L), blown save (BSV), or no decision (ND). You can filter any given date field with a decision abbreviation, inning number, or pitch count range if you want to fine-tune what you see. See the how-to chart above for some examples. Note: due to coding difficulties, filtering “L” doesn’t work. Type the color instead: “purple,” which works for all decisions, by the way: green=SV, yellow=HLD, blue=W, red=BSV, purple=L.
