Say it ain’t so, the Indians win streak has ended at 22 games. That was an exciting run and it looks like the final 3 weeks are going to be tight. I want to thank VictoriaB for filling in for me last week while I was prepping for Hurricane Irma. Luckily, Tampa was spared from any major damage. Moving on, Madison Bumgarner gets a delicious matchup against the Diamondbacks at home today.  MadBum sports a 3.00 ERA vs the Diamondbacks this year. Further, he has 25 K’s in 21 innings vs. them. The ownership is going  to be lower on him this week given his struggles in his last 2 starts. I’m assuming Carrasco will be the highest owned player today. With that being said I think the value lies in MadBum today at$9,200.

Jordan Montgomery, SP: $6,000 – Rewind the tapes, Monty almost made the lede again. I really like this matchup for Jordan. He has handled the Orioles all season however he comes at a risk. The Yankees sent him to the minors a month ago, to make room for Garcia and Gray and cited it was an attempt to limit innings for Jordan. You run the risk of Jordan being pulled at the 4th or 5th inning. With that said, I can assure you that Jordan will be low owned with high upside. The Orioles have had one of the worst offenses in the last 2 weeks.

Rick Porcello, SP: $8,400 – The Rays offense have been stagnant as of late. Porcello gets a 2nd consecutive start against the Rays after holding them to 2 runs earlier this week. The Rays are a team you want to pick on when they aren’t hitting because that means they’re likely striking out. Jump on in, the waters fine.

Gary Sanchez, C: $3,700  –  Excuse me if I’m wrong but I think Gary is a steal at this price. This guy has hit safely in 9 of his last 10 games including 3 home runs. The Yankees have had the Orioles number this year. I’ll try to squeeze a couple of shares of Gary in my lineup.

Wil Myers, 1B: $4,500 – Big Wily Style. I’m not starting out so hot, I’ve recommended the most expensive guys at C and 1B. I think it’s worth it, spending up for Myers mainly because there are 9 other guys at 1B that are $4k or higher. Myers will get to take advantage of the hitter friendly park.

Yoan Moncada, 2B: $3,200 – It looks like Moncada is heating up. All aboard the Moncada bandwagon. He’s homered 3 times in his last 10 games and is sporting a .389 average over the last 7 games. He is catching fire and his price is still reasonable.

Josh Donaldson, 3B: $3,500-  Donaldson has 17 home runs since all-star break. He would need 15 more home runs from now until the end of the season to impress Gray. He stands out as the highest ranked 3B on DFSBot today with a favorable pitching matchup.

Yangervis Solarte, SS: $3,500 –  Lets add another bat for the Colorado game. I’m not used to these discounts in Coors. Solarte is nothing special, but he stands a good chance of getting lucky and hitting one out.

Jay Bruce, OF: $3,500 – Like Short said: “Let Bruce Bruce hit it!” The Indians are playing with such high intensity, I don’t think the loss last night will quiet the bats. Bruce gets a favorable matchup against the up and down Jason Hammel.

Steve Pearce, OF: $2,600 –  I felt compelled to pick another DFSBot standout just because the salary relief is so high. The DFSBot has faith in Pearce going yard today against Mejia. Sometimes you just have to listen to a robot.

Chris Taylor, OF: $3,300 – Surprisingly there is no relation to James Taylor but he’ll still have you singing “How sweet it is” after today’s game. Taylor has been ice cold lately and I don’t blame you for looking the other way but something must snap for the Dodgers. This guy played a huge part this season getting the Dodger where they are.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

After tracking the hurricane for the last week or so, I feel like a real meteorologist. With that being said, I only show one game that is in jeopardy of a possible delay and that is Blue Jays vs Twins.

Doing Lines In Vegas

Oh, what a splendid surprise or lack thereof, Carlos Carrasco a -250 fave to win the game. Jordan Montgomery and the Yankees are the 2nd highest favorite on the day at -200. Here are the games with run totals over 10 today, Rockies vs Padres and Baltimore vs Yankees.
