What is up party people? Did you know that we are about to go into the biggest weekend for fantasy football drafts? If you’re a fantasy addict like me, you have a draft or 12 coming up. In that case, I would like to direct you to a wonderful resource to help you gain an edge. Oh yeah, Razzball does fantasy football too. But I digress, you’re obviously not reading for my fantasy football advice, you want to know how to finish out the fantasy baseball season. And for that, I applaud and thank you. You’re here, you made it. You have a team that is still contending and that’s a beautiful thing. Are you looking for a guy who is totally free? You know that I’m about to bring up Wade Meckler again., and no, I don’t get paid for how many times I mention him. He was a mystery box when he made the jump to the show and well, he’s still a mystery box. His batting average is looking good but he hasn’t shown any power or speed (wow, he sounds great). The mystery box could still be anything.

Julio Rodriguez – I doubted his bona fides as a points league stud before the season but he is sure making me eat my words right now. Since the break he is batting over .360 with 11 home runs but he has kicked it into another gear the past two weeks. Over that super small, cherry-picked sample, he is batting over .550 with 5 bombs. If he could do that all season he would bat a million and hit 1000 home runs.

Teoscar Hernandez – The revival keeps on kicking. When he’s on he can be an elite hitter and lately, he has been that elite hitter we wanted. Surprisingly he’s only rostered in 63% of ESPN leagues which I suppose says more about the number of people that have checked out and moved on to football. Anyhoo, if someone in your league let him go, you know what to do.

Royce Lewis – So far he looks real good but then again, talent has never been Royce’s problem. No, his main issue has been availability and some say that’s the best ability. When he’s in the lineup he can give you power and a darn good batting average. He will be a breakout star next season if he can stay on the field. So yeah, I’d want to add him for the stretch run.

Luis Rengifo – He is criminally undervalued right now. You want multi-position eligibility, he’s got you covered (2B, 3B, SS, OF). That’s not something you chase but it makes for a fantastic bench option, especially for daily leagues because he can fill in anywhere. Did I mention that he’s over .400 the last couple weeks? Yeah, he’s only batting around .260 for the season and I would love to tell you all that his career says he should be better. Unfortunately, his career batting average is .242 and his best season was .264. He is rapidly approaching a career high in home runs so that’s pretty cool. At the very least he makes for a very intriguing depth piece.

Kerry Carpenter – The window to add him for free is slamming shut, if it hasn’t closed already in any competitive league.  You can still scoop him in a few leagues and I would advise you to do so if he’s out there. He got that power that we all crave.

Gabriel Moreno – His last two weeks have been not only good for a catcher, they’ve been pretty darn good overall. Big picture, his full season numbers aren’t too shabby either. Hard to hate a .280 batting average. Not a ton of power, or really much at all with only 6 bombs on the season. Power isn’t his strong suit but the man can hit. Playing time seems fairly solid and that’s enough to elevate him into fantasy relevance.

Yainer Diaz – Looks like it’s catcher central up in here. A .280 average with 19 home runs is nothing to laugh at, especially from your catcher. If you are in need of help behind the plate, he’s right there.

Joey Meneses – Feels like he was a hero for a minute last season and he hasn’t been bad this year. Power isn’t quite what we could hope for but he knows how to make contact. His .280s average doesn’t seem like it’s that great but it’ll play.
