Three weeks in and I’m sure there’s some of you out there pressing as much as Carlos Gomez right now. Is it too soon to be worried that you’re falling behind in stolen bases? Probably not, but after next week we’ll be at a good point to stop and assess our teams as well as start scouring for trades to address whatever weaknesses we find. Or, to quote fellow leaguemate and frequent commenter MauledByPandas, “One more week until we can hit the (Joe) Panik button right?”. That’s about right I’d say. It’s still early folks and there’s no reason to be dropping a guy like Carlos Gomez or doing anything else crazy just yet.
Misery loves company and there’s plenty of misery with aces at the moment. Matt Harvey, David Price, Zack Greinke and Chris Archer have all had rough starts, leaving those that waited on starting pitching to giggle to themselves. Now Carlos Carrasco is down for 4-6 weeks and there’s RCL teams everywhere looking for a shoulder to cry on. Hang tough Razzballer, there’s plenty of fish in the stream for the next few weeks. In the meantime, form up your prayer octagons that both Carloses (Carlii?) will be alright by June and come check out the week that was in the RCLs.
Each week we’ll peek in at our resident ‘perts & other industry names to see who is laying claim to best “expert” RCLer in the land. We’ll take notes, check the standings and generally stalk them. Click the heading above to check out the ‘Perts League home page and follow along.
Big Magoo takes the solo lead! Last week JB and Magoo were tied atop the league but Magoo added 6 points this week while JB lost 6.5 and the Magoo stands alone. I competed against Magoo in two leagues last year, he’s a total boss and the ‘Perts league is going to have their hands full trying to take him down. If someone’s going to do it, I like J-FOH’s odds. J-FOH gained 9 points this week to move up from 8th to 4th. This could be the start of his ascent to the top of the ‘Perts league. J-FOH made the biggest jump in the standings this week but he didn’t gain the most points. That honor goes to Grey’s Fuc…uhh…Tehol, who gained a whopping 14.5 points this week to climb out of the basement and into 10th place. Replacing him in the cellar is our very own Fantasy Master Lothario. Grey lost 6 points this week and has hit rock bottom. The biggest points loser for the ‘Perts was Prospect Ralph. Ralph lost 14.5 points and also dropped the most spots in the standings, losing 5 spots from 4th to 9th. With Grey and Ralph both falling like rocks the two actually decided to strike up a deal. This deal won’t be included in the trade report, which runs on Monday since the trade won’t actually be processed until Monday night. However, the two have spit in their palms and shaken on it, so we can go ahead and mention it. Grey sent Nomar Mazara and Todd Frazier to Ralph for Wade Davis and Eric Hosmer. Ralph is leading the league in saves with 24, so he’s trading from a position of strength. Frazier will most likely slot into the CI spot with Donaldson at 3B. Matt Duffy might be on thin ice with Ralph with Frazier in town now. Grey is DFL in ERA and WHIP so Wade Davis and his strong ratio help will be a welcomed addition. This seems like a pretty fair deal to me and really just depends on how your value Mazara. Way to break the trade ice either way fellas.
TOP 10
For those too lazy to check the MASTER STANDINGS, I present to you, the current top 10

Simply Fred hangs on for another week atop the overall standings. Breaking Balls burst into the top 10 and is hot on his heels, just under 3 points back. Straight Outta Omaha makes an appearance into the top 10 with style as well, right there in the top 3. Team Sullivan, The Eatons, The Yapping Chihuahuas and The Education of Dr. Z all remain in the top 10 for another week. Everyone’s favorite villain commenter Ra’zbahl Al Ghul re-enters the top 10 this week, but with a different team than in week 1, and is the second member of ECFBL to be listed there. Ghul is doing his best to run down Fred in the league standings as well as here in the Master Standings. Nice work Ghul!
Of those in the top 10, Team Sullivan currently has the most IP with 211. Simply Fred is right there with 209. It’s hard to know exactly where everyone stands in IP without knowing where the Games Started are. Team Sullivan has 30 and Simply Fred has only 25. This is where the power of middle relievers comes into play. Fred has less Games Started and more IP. That’s a good spot to be in. Fred is a master of the middle reliever and it shows here in the early going.
TRADES
All the trades that have gone down in the past week. Public ridicule is not only allowed, but encouraged.
DATE | LEAGUE | TRADE |
4/19/2016 | ECFBL | Nine Pound Hammer traded Joakim Soria and Trevor Story to Simply Fred for Arodys Vizcaino and Delino DeShields |

4/22/2016 | All Summer Long | Team Bender traded Billy Hamilton to Vin Rolls for Caleb Cotham |

4/24/2016 | Great Knocks | ExtremeMakeover Ploop Edition traded Ben Zobrist and Troy Tulowitzki to Team Montesanto for Trevor Story (Team Montesanto dropped Justin Bour) |
Trevor Story was the man on the move this past week. He was involved in three of the five trades we saw. He was able to return some SAGNOF as well as…Troy Tulowitzki…man, what was that guy thinking?

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it the previous week.
Team: Hoboken Squat Cobblers & Team Russell
League: Brave Frontier
Stats: H/AB: 89/320, AVG: .278, R: 45, HR: 15, RBI: 43, SB: 8
IP: 127.2, ERA: 2.82, WHIP: 1.12, K: 119, W: 12, SV: 6
AND: H/AB: 91/301, AVG: .302, R: 60, HR: 26, RBI: 62, SB: 10
IP: 67, ERA: 2.69, WHIP: 0.94, K: 65, W: 3, SV: 7
Summary: I couldn’t pick just one team this week and instead took two teams from the same league. Just check out that dominance this week and all from the same league! The Cobblers were just hucking up innings this week and everyone of them was quality. Meanwhile, Team Russell put on an offensive show, leading all RCL teams in HRs and tossing 67 stellar innings of his own. These two are currently locked in a battle for first place with Team Russell having the edge right now. If this keeps up it will be a very fun race to watch. Nice work you two.
